Ardent Information , are they good
Personally, I really like mine. You have to try it for yourself and let that be the factor.

Ardent Information , are they good
I like my Ardents. I have a few grands and an elite. They cast as far as the Lews and Revos I've owned. For 50% off, I'd go hold one first and then buy one if you like it.

Z Man Finally in South Central WI
I used to live in Fort Atkinson and would frequent Dorn's on my way to fish Monona Bay. Great little shop. They have another location in east town, I believe. Gander mountain should have what you're looking for as well.

Attention Lefties!!! (And all others, too)
As a lefty retriever, I often feel discouraged when trying to buy a new baitcasting reel. Only a few brands carry lefty reels with different gear ratio options. And often times, having a variety of gear ratios means buying different brands which isn't the end of the world. i just learned that Duckett's 300 Series, which only retails for $129, is now available and is available in 5.3:1, 6.4:1, and 7.1:1 in lefty and righty! I'm going to order one to try it out. Hazzah! Maybe Duckett isn't "your" brand of reel, but I'm not judging them until try it out. I'll let you know what I think.

Crankbaits for Northeast fishing
Yes. They will. I went to college in Mid-NY state and caught several 3-5lb bass on a Strike King King Shad when it first launched.

Spro Ratzilla
I own one, but haven't thrown it yet. That said, I caught a 4lb largie last year with a squirrel tail in its throat. Yes, it'll work... even in Michigan.

New rod recommendations for flipping, punching, and froggin.
The Duckett Terex series is about $150, though I'm sure you can find them cheaper on Amazon or elsewhere. Dean Rojas designed a 7'4" H frog rod that would do everything you described and more.

New Casting Rod recommendations for pitchin, c-rigs, etc
Duckett Micro Magic Pro or White Ice, 7'3" Heavy-Fast. I own one and the techniques you mentioned is exactly what I use it for.

Becoming a bass guide: getting started
I'm not writing this because I'm looking to become a guide. But I've always wondered what it takes to get started. Obviously a lot of knowledge and consistency on the waters you guide on, but rather I'm curious as to the costs. What are typical rates (I live in southeast PA and fish smaller waters), challenges (besides finding fish/catching fish). What's the profit margin for a guide? How much could one expect to make? I know there are thousand variables, but I'd like to hear from some guides. I'm sure they're on here. Thanks!

A-Mart cranking with 8:1:1 reel?
I marshaled for Keith Combs on the Chesapeake Bay, and he was throwing a squarebill on a 7.0:1.
