  1. I've found an overall good "economy" braid is the KastKing Super Power braid. It actually performs better than I thought it would for the cost. Color doesn't bleed, it doesn't start to fray early, easy to cast, etc. I'm pretty impressed with it.
  2. LOL!! That's hilarious!
  3. Going to be 55 and sunny today in my area - another warm and dry day! The ONLY reason I mention it, is because for the last 4 winters in a row, we've had temps well below normal coupled with record rainfalls....it's been sheer misery. This year offers a break from that trend, with above normal temps and below normal rain. It's been a fantastic "winter"!
  4. I swear by Simms flip flops in the warmer months. They're the only pair of flip flops I've been able to wear all day long, probably due to the arch support and proper fit. Other brands of flip flops tend to rub raw spots on my feet due to the loose fit. Here they are: https://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/mens/footwear/atoll-flip-s18 They make a wide version too.

  20. I used to be a Power Pro guy, but I didn't like the stiffness. I tried Kanzen first, then Smackdown.... My Power Pro went into the garbage! Smackdown is unbelievable. Fantastic braid. Honestly, I'd post a negative thing if I knew of one, but I haven't found one yet in over 3 years of fishing it. Absolutely the best braid I've ever used. Looking forward to using the new stealth gray this year!
  21. Nope, never use them. Here's how you can avoid line twist - it really works!
  22. It's been a very, very mild and relatively dry "winter" in my neck of the woods, thanks to El Nino (warmest Jan on record so far). Typically we have rain every day with ice and snow every now and then just to spice things up. High temps struggle to reach the low 40's. That's "normal". This year, we've had much less rainfall, and only a few nights dip below freezing. Most days hover around 50 degrees. Although we've had a few abnormally strong storms (including a tornado!), this coming weekend, it's nothing but sunshine and mid-50's. I'm going fishing!
  23. Whelp, the officiating was, unfortunately, par for the course this year. Just way too many games were decided this year by bad ref calls. The games this week were no different. This year we saw many "roughing", PI, unsportsman like, and holding calls applied without consistency. Hopefully they make some sweeping changes during the off-season to course correct. On a plus side, the Seahawks performed way better than anyone expected, and seem to be on the path towards another Superbowl appearance soon. Of course, anything can happen, so we shall see....

I've been fishing tubes ever since they came out in the 80's. I've caught both largemouth and smallmouth on tubes all over the country, in just about every condition you could imagine. I rig them in all the usual ways, and many unusual ways too. Don't forget they're good used as trailers too. Here's just a couple of instructional videos I've made on them (I have several others as well. Just visit our YouTube channel for more):
  25. Here's the main reason why I don't buy items off Ebay: http://www.ifiberone.com/columbia_basin/east-wenatchee-man-reportedly-linked-to-more-than-retail-thefts/article_0bccabe6-1b4e-11e9-98e3-ef08da4302d3.html The dude has been stealing items and selling them on Ebay. If you look at the picture, you'll see a lot of PowerPro line in the stash of stolen items. This is by far not the first time somebody has been caught stealing fishing gear and reselling them on Ebay. There was even an instance years ago when a BassResource member was doing it - for years! He was a "trusted" seller on Ebay, and an active, "trusted" member here and on other fishing forums. All while trafficking tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen merchandise. So with everything the old adage applies: If it's too good to be true, it probably is.
