Line choice for spinning and crankbaits?
I never use braid on crankbaits for 3 important reasons: Braid is buoyant. Therefore, the crankbait will have a hard time reaching is maximum depth potential. Braid doesn't stretch - you'll more apt to pull the tiny treble hooks out of his mouth, or possibly bend/straighten the hook. With crankbaits, your rod needs to give, but so does your line. Braid, while abrasion resistant in vegetation, gets tore up on rocks - a common place for using crankbaits. Fluorocarbon is also very abrasion resistant and is a better choice for rocky terrain. For these reasons, it's one the few times I use straight fluorocarbon on my reel - no leaders. I prefer 12lb for most crankin' situations. Hope that helps!

New updates
I've just applied an update to our forums. This release contains fixes, performance updates, and many new features. Security Questions To enhance the security of your account we now have a new security questions feature where you can put in your own, personal security questions. You will then be prompted to answer those questions for account actions such as changing emails and passwords. Account Change Emails You will now receive confirmation emails when you change your email address or password. Embed Failure Message To answer questions "why didn't my video embed?" we now show you why. Members will just see a message indicating the post tried to embed but was not able to. Admins and moderators will get more information on what failed. And some technical stuff... In addition to the new feature additions we have also issues such as: Performance improvements in: profile view, sitemap generator, posting replies, and Activity Streams You can now press ctrl/cmd+enter in any editor window to submit the reply (yay!) There is now logic to prevent double-posting when the initial post encounters an error on submit We have more enhancements and improvements on the way! Enjoy! Glenn

Yes, it's a security feature for that exact reason. It's to protect your account.
