  1. Here's a few resources to get you started: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/guide_to_tournament_fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/tournaments_beginning.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/fishing_tournaments.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/tournament_fishing.html Hope that helps!
  2. "Catch and Release" formula - I use it every time, always. I don't lose fish, and they don't stress out in the livewell. In addition to what RW said, it also helps replenish the slime coat. In essence, leaves the fish in better shape than when you caught them. It works, period. "Please Release Me" formula - works on bleeding and injured fish. It's like a first aid kit for fish. Works every time. Designed specifically for fish. Mountain Dew/Coke/Pepsi/soda - not made for animals, has ingredients that may be harmful or poisonous to fish. Never, ever, ever use soda pop on fish! A bottle of Please Release Me costs just a few bucks. Man up, and put a bottle in your boat. It's YOUR responsibility to properly handle fish and protect the resource.
  3. Definitely a largemouth. The fish. I'm talking about the fish!
  4. That's awesome! Congratulations!
  5. Well, you can either learn the right technique, or limit your tackle selection. Up to you.

  20. Same as the post above. Here's how to properly set up your baitcaster to reduce backlashes:
  21. Everything you need to know:
  22. Sounds like you know how to set up your reel, but you're probably over-powering your cast. Watch this video - especially the latter part. It shows you how to make casts with a properly adjusted reel. Might want to watch the first part too, because there may just be something that you haven't adjusted yet (such as internal brakes).
  23. NEVER punch a hole in its mouth. Instead, slide the "hook" up under his jaw, near his gill plates. Trust me, you'll never damage his gill plates doing it this way. I demonstrate how to this using culling tags in this video:
