    Really??
  3. I talk to him time to time. He's doing well. Would you believe he has a pet pig?
  4. Where do you live, Nathan? There are several stations in the Tri-Cities area that have Ethanol-free gas, plus the marina at Clover Island.
  5. I blew 2 engines in 6 years as a result of using Ethanol gas. Now I go out of my way to use Ethanol-free gas 100% of the time. I've gone 8 years without any issues since. That said, I use a healthy dose of fuel additives year-round as well. Here's why. Non-Ethanol fuel will leave deposits in your engine, fuel lines, filters, etc. Usually not a big issue, really. Until you use gas with Ethanol in it. Ethanol is a potent solvent. It will clean out all that gunk in a hurry - and that gunk will quickly clog a fuel injector, and then Boom. Blown engine. My mechanic advised me to always use Sta-bil, and to double down on fuel cleaner - as in double dosage - with every fill up. That way, everything is kept much cleaner, which reduces the risk should I ever be forced to use Ethanol gas again. Of course, the engine performs better too. Not to mention, you get more power out of Ethanol-free gas.

  7. They are not discontinued, nor is there any "design flaw". I have several, and have had zero problems. They are amongst my favorite rods in my collection. You can purchase them in various brick-n-mortor stores as well as online.

  10. I like the Alps MVT. It's basically the TexTouch, but lighter and stronger because it's Toray carbon fiber. I'm having a rod built with that right now.
  11. Seems to have been racially motivated, or at least that's how the media is portraying it. Waiting for the ensuing riots to begin....
  12. Bruce, Just to clarify (not trying to change your mind), but I've had great success holding in strong winds....and difficulty too. It has to do with the bottom. A hard, rocky bottom is more difficult to hold onto in strong winds. Both PP and Talons will have problems holding on hard bottom in strong winds. Just wanted to level-set your expectations. As for thick matted vegetation, again, no issues there with my PP. Although I usually don't need to deploy the poles if I'm in the heavy stuff because the mats tend to do a fine job of holding the boat anyway. The bigger issue is just getting in and out of those areas with the trolling motor! LOL!
  13. I've had mine for 3 years, and never had any issue with leaks. I've heard of a few people that had leaks, but in those cases it was due to poor installation, not a flaw in the equipment. I had mine installed by a professional.
  14. From the FAQ's
  15. Watch the video I posted. It shows how to rig those too.
  16. The hula grub is a "must have" lure - especially if you're fishing for smallmouth (although they work great on largemouth too!). Here's how to fish them. Let me know your thoughts!
