  1. Welcome home!
  2. Great game!
  3. This is a very sad story. http://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/2015/10/21/murdered-angler-extraordinary-friend/74337454/
  4. I just spewed Pepsi all over my keyboard!
  5. Today, my wife found a spider in the car. It freaked her out! She asked me, "How in the world can a spider get in the car!? Where do they come from!?" I replied, "They probably came in the same hole the snakes use." She was NOT amused! I, on the other hand, was left gasping for air because I was laughing so hard - which didn't help the situation at all. So that begs the question, what did you say to your significant other that you probably shouldn't have?
  6. Umm...that was sarcasm there MidwestF1sh.
  7. I've been using Seaguar Tatsu 15lb for a few years now, and have had no complaints whatsoever. It's not wiry or unmanageable, has excellent knot strength, and great abrasion resistance. I've never had a reason to switch.
  8. This year, both Washington State and Oregon State removed any and all regulations regarding warm water species (Bass, Walleye, Catfish) up-and-down the entire Columbia river, in the name of the almighty salmon; despite the fact they have not a wisp of scientific evidence to support such drastic measures. They're simply trying to appease salmon anglers who think warm water species might be harming the salmon runs, and have complained to them about it. You can't vote-in the reigning members of the Dept. of Wildlife. It takes a special kind of stupid to get them into any level of decision making.
  9. Here's the full story on it, with more pictures: http://www.michianaoutdoorsnews.com/fishing-gear/bass/1237-michigan-smallmouth-record-broken
  10. I've been using the 50# Kanzen for a few years now without any issues. I've caught plenty of fish on it without any problems at all. Although now that I've tried the 8-strand Smackdown on a few rods this year, I like it even more. However it's also more expensive, so there's a trade-off. Currently I'm testing out the new Flippin' braid, and will post a review once I have had some time to put it through the paces.
  11. Every two years, without fail, and check it annually - and that's important. I once found out I was running a "burned" impeller (it even melted the casing a bit) due to something temporarily blocking the intake while I was running (probably a plastic bag or debris). Had to replace the impeller and housing. It was only 8 months old. Odd thing was that the pressure never changed. So the only way of knowing, is by checking.
  12. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
  13. Often overlooked, but the cause of so much disappointment, poor pictures of that great catch can be avoided. Here's how. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/great-fishing-photos.html

  15. I reduced the amount of notifications by default as a result of too many people marking them as "spam". You can go into your profile and turn them on again; but they're off by default now. I figure if people manually turn them, then they're expecting them and won't think they're spam. It won't fix the hotmail/msn/live/outlook issue above, but at least will prevent further problems with other email providers. I've blocked all registrations by those email services because the user will not get the confirmation email.
  16. I presume he was trying to use a hotmail, msn, live, or outlook email. Microsoft has blocked emails from the forum because they think it's spam. I've spoke to them about it, but they will not budge. Apparently some forum members marked their notifications as "spam", and that's what Microsoft uses as their reasoning.
  17. Craftsman came out with that design years ago. Stanley is just a knock off.
  18. Sandhill - actually, there's a simple way to remove the hook without harming the fish, even if the barb is not visible. See the step-by-step instructions here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/12981-how-do-i-remove-a-hook-a-bass-has-swallowed/page-2#entry153524
