  1. The 2012 Summer Olympics are officially under way. That's right, all the archery, handball and equestrian events you can handle are coming your way. Essentially, we will watch a bunch of people infinitely more gifted than us compete for their chance to be immortalized on a box of Wheaties. Personally, I'd rather be immortalized on a box of Cap' N Crunch, but then, I kinda don’t do anything. Thing about Olympic coverage now is that there's some long- winded story behind every athlete and the networks feel the need to share. Basically those stories fall into one of two categories; they were naturally gifted and this is their chance to show the world OR no one thought they'd be able to compete and this is their chance to show the world. So, not unlike most of us, some things come easy, some things required a lot of effort, and that leads to today's question: WHAT DID YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD FOR AND WHAT CAME NATURALLY?
  2. Ding! Ding! Winner! No matter what you do, do this FIRST! Seriously. Note the recent Alabama rig knock-offs (trust me, there were dozens at ICAST last month), or the endless Senko knockoffs. The fishing industry is not bashful at all, and will steal your idea in a heartbeat. Get a patent. It's the single most important thing you do.

  5. Fish cannot digest hooks, period. It's an old wive's tale. It's been proven over and over. I really wish this myth would go away.

  7. Matt - been there, done that, and like Mike says, it's a blessing in disguise. Doesn't seem like it right now, I know. But trust me, it is. You'll realize this someday - hopefully sooner than later. But the reality is, better days are coming your way. More than you can imagine. Hang in there. We're here for you, 24/7/365. Glenn
  8. Bluegill spawn several times a year. So it's a safe bet it's bluegill.
  9. Indeed the mood was more like a funeral than a coronation when Matt earned the Bassmaster Classic berth by beating his brother Sunday. Matt had two bass that weighed 5 pounds, 6 ounces. Jordan finished with two bass weighing 2-4 after another tough 4 1/2 hours of bass fishing on Beaverfork Lake. View the full article
