Cal? The competition? No, not at all. If anything, our sites complement each other. I've met Cal several times and consider him a buddy. I wouldn't wish this on him at all.

Why does everyone buy the lures that win The Classic
I used to fall victim to that as well. But now I try to throw something that nobody else is throwing. And that means staying clear of the popular baits - especially the hot-bait-of-the-moment. But if you ask me what I'm throwing...it's a Senko.

It's funny. Occasionally I'll stumble across a really good article that I completely forgot about - and I'm the guy that posted it! ;D

Why does everyone buy the lures that win The Classic
Yep, that's why there's a huge effort on behalf of the sponsors to ensure their angler has a shot at winning the Classic. I'm NOT implying anyone is cheating. Just saying they get a lot of information and help that the weekend anglers will never experience. As for the bait sales, I find it quite amusing. People are always looking for the silver bullet - that magic bait that's going to catch a ton of fish for them. Funny though, when a bait does come along that seems to fit the bill (aka the Senko), many people dismiss it as being "too easy", or that it takes no talent to use, a "crutch", etc. Can't win no matter what. ;D

thumbing comments up or down. attn mods
It's for that very reason we took it down. Never in my wildest thoughts did I ever think people would fuss so much over post counts. That's just pathetic. So I removed them.

Perfect coffee
LOL! That's funny right thar! Ya, I was going to mention Tully's, but didn't think anyone would know about it. That's some good stuff!

Watch Out for Global Subscriptions!!!
We just let the answering machine answer. All our friends know how to skip it, and then say who they are. We'll pick up if it's our family or friends. Telemarketers always hangup before the outgoing message is finished.

Perfect coffee
Sorry man. Are you gonna ban me now? Sorry, but I like a really strong, robust cup of coffee, and these places just don't make them that way. I want to taste the coffee, not the water.

Fishing Rhino - I've been to Daytona twice (the 500 and 400), and neither were anywhere close to being better on TV. They were much worse. It's a 2 mile track, most of it is blocked by all the tall crap they put in the infield along the pits. Therefore, you can't see much of what's going on. What you can see, is too far away to make out who's who because it's too far away. Then the pack screams by you in a blur of colors. It's nearly impossible to understand what's going on. You end up spending much of your time watching the big screens. Oh joy...you spend major bucks to watch......TV. Bristol is far better, IMO. You can see the whole track and there's a whole lotta fast action goin' on! Bring on the small tracks!!

Perfect coffee
I was just there in NOLA. Tried both Community and Cafe Du Monde. While both were good, I wasn't overly impressed with either. Right about on par with Starbucks - maybe slightly better. Sorry. I'm a Seattle coffee snob. It's really hard to beat French pressed coffee from a micro coffee company like Long Bottoms Coffee or Boca Java.

Ed Bassmaster at the Classic. :)
Yes, it's the same guy. Hilarious!

I'm just happy somebody OTHER than the usual names won it. NASCAR shure has gotten boring lately. They should get rid of all the 1 1/2 mile tracks. They need more Bristols.
