If MACs were so good, how come they can't say anything good about them? Instead they just attack Windows. Sounds like a dirty political campaign to me - "I don't have any credentials, so I'll just attack the incumbent in an effort to make him look worse than me". Dumb commercials if you ask me. It makes MAC look worse every time they air.

Nothing much happened, Kelly. It's more of a gentle reminder overall due to a slowly growing trend, that's all. What little did happen, I explained above...in the open...no "closed doors".

I have flares, a whistle, AND and an air horn on my boat at all times. Not saying I'm better than anyone, just saying it's important to be prepared for anything. I've had to use the air horn once already, when my engine died. I immediately got the attention of two bass anglers who were about 1/2 mile away from me, and they towed me in. Since their backs were to me when they were fishing, I doubt they would have seen the flares if I used them. Just a tip.

I think you could have stated that better without coming down on the guy. Educate, not demoralize.

Nothing wrong him posting links. However that site has stolen content off our site and many others. So it's hard to say how they conduct business. Suffice to say, I don't feel comfortable with the thought of members potentially getting burned by them.

I'd listen to what Bob says. He's been a warmwater biologist for over 30 years now. He knows his stuff!

I was wondering this myself, may have something to do with members being asked to leave? To be clear, nobody was asked to leave. There were a few members who were pushing the limits, and they were contacted individually to resolve the issues. All issues were resolved to every one's satisfaction on all sides except for one member, who was being overly aggressive towards other members on several occasions. Anyone that's been here for any amount of time knows that we do not tolerate that kind of behavior here. I reminded him of that, and let him know there are other forums out there that allow personal attacks and confrontations, if that was indeed what he wanted to do. He stated he wasn't going to change, and voluntarily left. While I'm saddened to see any member leave, I do understand that one size does not fit all, and sometimes we're not a good fit for some people - particularly those who like to argue aggressively, create conflict, or be disruptive in general. Now I'm not saying this person was all of those things, but it became evident we were no longer a good fit for him, nor he a good fit for us. Some people just get burned out after awhile. So his departure was mutually agreed. That said, I do hope that most people feel comfortable here and enjoy "hanging out" with their friends. Judging by most of the responses, I think we're doing the best we can, but there's always room for improvement. I think this has already become way more than I intended. I only meant to remind folks that we try to promote a positive atmosphere here, and would appreciate it if folks would do a gut check before posting to make sure they're not coming off the wrong way (such as condescending, angry, derogatory, etc.). Sometimes that can happen, even though the person posting may not be aware they're sounding that way. This can even happen to "established" members sometimes, as it can feel as though "everyone knows I'm kidding here" or "they know what I mean". I know it happens to me! Anyway, I just want to offer some encouragement to do the right things. This is a family forum, and we need to treat everyone like they are a member of our family.

That's awesome! It's great to hear that a video I worked by butt off to create really helped out somebody. It makes it all worthwhile.

Matt, I'm a bit confused. Are you saying WE deleted posts on THIS forum about this topic, or that JP & Crew deleted posts on the TFF forum? Because I'm not aware of us deleting any such posts here. Also note that JP hasn't contacted me about this topic. So I'm not sure where the connection is being made. Please clarify.
