  1. Looks like it just ate a baby duck or baby goose. Seriously!
  2. It's happened to me a number of times. Your line is wrapping around the line tie area and getting wedged in between the wires. Once that happens, the line weakens, and then it's just a matter of time. Frequently checking your line to see if it's wrapping, and re-tying often is the cure. Good luck!
  3. I fish rocks alot, and here's what I've found: Never use grass jigs (bullet heads), darter heads, or anything "pointy" Football heads work best Bow-and-arrow trick can be your friend, but first try to gently jiggle it free. The bow-and-arrow can free it, but it can also wedge it in further. When it gets stuck, go back over the spot and pull/jiggle it from the exact opposite direction. This almost always frees it. As a last ditch effort, point the rod directly at the lure and pull back hard. It will either pop free or you'll break the line. Always check your hook for sharpness, and your line for frays. Frequently sharpen the hook and retie. Hope that helps!
  4. Bass populations react and change not only to the conditions within the water body, itself, but to changes in the watershed as well. Discover how a healthy watershed can contribute to a healthy fishery in The Importance of Watersheds to Bass Fisheries. http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/lake-pollution.html

  6. Here's a spinnerbait video that you won't find anywhere else. It's more in-depth than any article found on the web. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/spinnerbaits-bass-fishing.html
  7. Well folks, here's my first attempt at being in front of the camera instead of behind it. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I ALWAYS have a spinnerbait on the deck of my boat, and I ALWAYS fish it at least for a little while on every outing. In this video, I give away all my secrets gained over the decades of heavy spinnerbait fishing. Whether you're a beginner, or have been fishing spinnerbaits for long time, you'll find some new tips to try the next time you hit the water. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/spinnerbaits-bass-fishing.html Many thanks to Idaho***er for his fine camera work! Enjoy!
  8. Keri and I at 4:45 am. The pic is a little blurry, but it looks normal to me because that's how things look to me at that hour! ;D
  9. Agreed. G'nite Irene.
  10. Stuff happens. I had my TM switch croak after running it on full power for an extended amount of time. Replaced the switch and never had a problem since. Things wear out. Replace it and keep an eye on it - especially if you're using it on full power for a long time.

Here ya go guys. It's a video Big O himself demonstrating how to rig these lures at the BassResource.com RoadTrip: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/bass-fishing-rage-tail.html
  12. Update: Keri and I "confronted" the guy who started it all, and he admited I had nothing to do with the rumor he started, and that he was to blame. He admitted his mistake and apologized. However, the guy he talked to is still convinced the rumor is true. That said, nobody in the club believes the rumor, and a number of them have come down on this "believer" pretty hard. They guy is stubborn and won't change his mind, but it's clear nobody is in camp. In fact, they've all lost any credibility in him now. So, in the end, the guy is just digging himself into a hole deeper and deeper while my reputation has been kept in-tact. It's just disappointing it had to happen at all. I thought better of my fellow club members. Lesson learned.

X2...I married one..... ;D I'm diggin' the hat. What RW said is true. Some of these ads come from the Google content network, and sometimes the advertisers try a broad approach. It doesn't take long for them to cut back and advertise only on the sites that better target their market. As for goth people, I have a few friends like that. But I find it funny that in their attempt to be unique, they all look the same in black attire. I once went to a goth bar wearing a bright white t-shirt that had MICKEY MOUSE, in big bold red letters emblazened across the chest! ;D My buddies couldn't stop laughing!
  14. Good questions. Actually, he has changed through the years. He's calmed down to a certain degree, especially over the past few years. Most notabely he doesn't let things upset him like they used to. And yes, we're friends, not just professional acquaintences. We became friends while he was still in the federation. And I've met his kids. I'm certainly not trying to brag or name-drop or anything. You asked.
  15. Dan - If you don't like him, that's fine. That's your choice. But to make assumptions about his character without knowing him is unfair. You wouldn't want somebody to do that to you. I've known him for 10 years. I have no reason to lie to you.
  16. The park doesn't sell alcohol, but you get some within a 10-15 min drive. No worries.
  17. I've gone fishing with him 3 times now, and can honestly say it's not an act. It's all about the victory of figuring out the puzzle, and not so much the size of the fish. Figuring out the puzzle - that's the challenge for him. So when he catches a fish, he's unlocked the puzzle, and it's a "win" in his mind. I remember one time he "thought" the fish were holding in deep water on rocky points. First point we pulled up to...nothing. 2nd point, caught one. Third point, caught another. He knew at the point he had it figured out. He got so excited, he threw his rod down, ran to me at the back of the boat, and hugged me while screaming! Thank God no cameras were present! LOL! An act? Hardly!
  18. It's not open to the public. It's an industry trade show. Sorry.
  19. "On the west side of Waldon island are some bouy markers." That's a 5mph zone for a reason. Motor near the island side, not the other side! Those bouys are marking a very large rock pile that extends out past the markers by quite a ways. So slow down and stick near the island. Also be on the lookout for any rebar sticking out of the water. Sometimes they're hard to see. They're marking stumps. Aside from flipping, spinnerbaits and worms work well in the pads too.
