Thanks for the ccomments! Im dreading the day I get a crankbait flying back at me and hits my tube . Also every spring my my grandpa and his church goes to Fort Gibson and jug lines for Blue cats so Im thinking about getting my abu 6500 some 40lb line and some shad and seeing if I can get a cat to tow me around in my tube:D

Lobster Monster the persons profile name is no1 the first time I read it I thought he was being a jerk but I saw that was actual someones screen name. Oh and ive been doing good on pearl flukes fished weightless or with a small splitshot on 8lb line.

I know its nothing huge but he fought like a train and this is my first bass from this lake and my first bass from my float tube so I was excited! He was about 20 inches. I caught it on a 10 inch culprit worm in pretty shallow water. Im glad fall is almost here!

Ive really been wanting to try tubes! There one of the soft plastic baits ive hardly ever used. Can you recommend a brand that I could pick up at academy? Are the zoom tubes any good?

I got some from walwart and they caught fish and were priced great! Also very salty inside and outside.

Thanks I got alot of soft plastics and jigs and I have confidence in those baits but I know the fish will probaly be up shallow feeding on baitfish so I guess ill just see whats working

Ill be fishing a tournament next Sunday on Grand lake in North East Oklahoma. we have been getting lots of rain and the night time temps between now and next Saturday are supposed to be from 58-62 degrees. I need a recommendation on what baits I should get? Im going to call my partner before next weekend because im sure he knows what hes doing but just thought I would also ask here?

Can you post a link to what your talking about? I really like the craws and the shads so I might have some new baits to try out

Im not a very experienced bass fisher but there is a neighborhood pond with some awesome sized fish in it and I know that they are conditioned to some lures. Ive spent a ton of time fishing there and the common baits like shallow diving crankbaits and plastic worms just don't catch fish. The only thing Ive ever been able to catch them on consistently was my mattlures soft bluegill bait (and ive been catching a couple fishing in the rain with rage toads)but i don't have it anymore Ive caught fish on several different baits like jerkbaits and rattletraps but after a few fish get hooked it seems like the rest of the bass leave it alone. So I dont know if you would call them smart but there definitely conditioned to a lot of lures.

Ive seen bulk Berkley bags at bass pro but where can you get bulk zoom bags? Do they have bulk bags for brush hogs?

Did you spool the mono to were the line went on the reel like it came of the spool? Also 30 pound braid is alot thinner than 17lb mono so if you are casting lighter baits the 30lb braid is going to cast it better.

I joined a bass club and I fished my first tournament like three weeks ago and I got to fish with the vice president of the club and I caught a limit It was so much fun. I fish my next tournament the 27th and I cant wait!! My biggest fish was 3.8 and I finished 8th out of 29 people on my first tournament heres my two big fish A giant from today(atleast it was giant for me lol) some river fish

Why do brands like abu garcia and shimano make reels and only sell them in Japan? Is there a lot of bass fishermen over there(I know the world record was just caught there.)? Alot of the Japanese reels look awesome and im curious why they would not sell them here?

Thanks guys! I think im going to feel the rod first and put a reel on it( the ebay seller lives right by me and ive been messaging him) and see how I like it.

Has anybody used both of these? theres a rod on ebay for 175$ thats made from an IM8 blank and the guy selling it says it weighs three ounces and is up there with the five hundred dollar rods. I would post the link but the auction ends in 40 minuets but he makes rods and sells them so im sure he will have more. I was just curious how the IM8 compares to the Glx in sensitivity and streght?

I had a strike king buzzbait do that right out of the package and it took me like thirty minuets to get it turned to where it would run up straight.

I don't think its fair to call them meaner. They are probably just used to seeing people and extra curious and not at all afraid.

The toads are awesome(although i haven't caught a fish on them yet lol)! they push so much water. The anacondas are also a great bait

What about bug spray? It seems like that would have way more of an effect than sunscreen would.
