I've been out of the motorcycle scene a few years now, and I've missed it dearly. I'm happy to report my health has recovered enough to get back in the saddle. I've located the first bike I ever owned and getting it back. Nothing real special, a.1998 Honda ACE Tourer. Best of all my buddy who owns a car dealership took a Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500 in on trade, I picked it up at wholesale. The plan is to take the Vulcan and build a long distance touring bike. I'm going to convert the fenders over to an Indian Super Chief (thinking of stretching the rear fender), put Harley style tour package with stretched saddle bags on it, go to a single seat, and put a batwing fairing up front with an old light bar. To finish it off, I'm removing the straight pipes, putting bagger style dual exhaust with fish tails. I'll post what it looks like now and update the progress. Can't wait to be cruising again.

Because finding Bigfoot filmed an episode in my hometown! It was hilarious, I recognized two "eye witnesses" they shouldn't have interviewed in front of the bar! Curiously enough though there is at least one primatologist from Nat Geo, a professor from Utah, a finger print expert and several biologist who claim that Bigfoot is a defacto discovery. In other words there is enough evidence including DNA to classify the species. The claim is that Bigfoot is the last living relic population descendants of gigantopithicus (sp)

FWIW, I located my original bike, a 1998 Honda Shadow ACE Tourer. Think I'm buying her back, she's not big and bad but I had allot of fun on that machine. Probably park it in the living room.

Let's see Russia is bombing Syria Russia is also amassing a large army on the northern Afghanistan borde, just north of the town the Taliban took over today.. Iraq announced their intelligence sharing with Iran, Syria and Russia. Today's agreement to raise the debt limit, now the debt is close to 23 trillion, an amount that can't be repaid. I would say with Russia positioning to become the major power inn the middle east, our debt crisis, what's that REM song? Oh yeah, "The End of the World as We Know It". I've nit looked but I bet the prepper sites have exploded today. Also I'm betting many apocalyptic scholars (theologians) are closely watching these developments.

Filled up today @ $1.79

It was $1.66/gallon Friday the 11th. I drove from Aiken SC to Union, WV that day. $1.66 was the cheapest I saw. FWIW, it was BP fuel, I went by the station today, think it was $1.68.

Great news

I would suggest frame reinforcement as one of the upgrades. That truck's engine has enough torque to bend the frame, I found out the hard way! When Dodge redesigned the truck in 94 the Cummins equipped trucks all received a new redesigned frame to handle the engine and the engine was detuned a bit. I am surprised that truck lasted 22 years without frame damage. Good luck on the build.

Gas is $1.90/gallon here, Aiken SC. Like I stated in other threads. The producers (Exxon, BP etc) know the market will support $2/gallon, Joe public doesn't watch gas prices like they should, and we will stay right around 2 bucks no matter the prove per barrel, jmo.

I have an 11 year old, at this point in life I don't even care what's on excrept Monday and Tuesday nights and he's in bed anyway. I see allot of cartoons. One that surprised me on how much I like it is Star Wars Rebels. Teen Titans is fine, but they're are a host of stupid ones Clarence, Uncle Grandpa etc. I feel my iq drop every time they come on. I also spend allot of time watching him play video games

NCIS & NCIS Los Angeles. The latter is edging out the former, I think the show lost allot when the Ziva character was written out. I'm also liking Sex & Drugs &Rock n Roll, and Mr. Robot. Ancient Aliens when I want to laugh, and finally Dr. Who when David Tenant was the Doctor.

I have that album can't believe I left Dio out!! C'mon man you know you lived the big hair, Mullets and parachute pants, lol. Actually my clothing has never changed Jeans and t shirt. The only difference is tennis shoes instead of cowboy boots.
