  1. Al, They're Coopervision Purevision2 Multi-focal. I wore the Accuview Oasis, the first ones I could successfully wear. The multi-focal lense are not as comfortable as the Oasis, but after wearing them for two days I adjusted easily. Now I can swap between the two types without noticing any difference.
  2. Nothing out of the ordinary, thanks for asking
  3. Its 3:30am, having a pain night, its keeping me up. I decide to have a smoke, walk out into the garage (I won't smoke in the house), and I notice a dirty sock laying on the threshold. Being 3:30, and I'm already in pain I go to nudge it out of my way with my foot. The stupid thing jumps at me! I'm thinking snake. Adrenalin surges through my body, and me being me I kick out harder instead of protecting myself. Crazy frog bounces off the garage door and starts hoping back, I just shake my head, My hands are still shaking from the adrenalin rush.

  6. Thank you to all who served. "All gave some, some gave all" Unknown
  7. Not sure yet, haven't ordered the new ones, think the doc said about 15 bucks more a box.
  8. Thanks fellas, very proud of the person she's become. Glad it's working for ya, great little buzzbait.
  9. First best of luck to you, second you are already making progress, you have clearly defined goals, you are already working toward accomplishing them, so CONGRATS on making it this far. I'm glad that you are getting help, as you walk this path there will be times that you'll want to quit, the past keeps rearing its ugly head, stay strong; easy to say hard to do. One word of caution, from your post you're in a relationship, I encourage you as you continue to heal that getting better is for you and her. She is obviously very important to you, sorta serving as the catalyst to start getting help. As you continue to heal discover the qualities in yourself that she sees, build on it. Again I really like you're setting goals as you accomplish them, set more, so you're always moving forward.
  10. I did it, made the switch. Due to a neck injury, I found that I needed to switch. So I sold my RH reels bought a couple lefties and it took about a month to get used to, I fished probably twice a week. I think the key to success was due to the injury I couldn't fish for about a year, after recovery it was spring time, so when I started fishing again after a long absence I started back fishing left handed. I was going to have a learning curve either way. I had lost about 90% of grip strength, right hand had 95psi, lh 10lb, so obviously I could no longer hold the rod in my left. Now after rehab and everything I like lh reels better.
  11. Just getting back from Boston, made the trip to watch my daughter graduate with her Masters in Music. She has already enrolled for the fall semester, starting her program for research librarian. Very proud papa!
  12. Due to many factors I've aged early, just last week some guy asked how many tours I did in Viet Nam. I told him I'm 46 not 66. Anyway I hate wearing glasses, last year I started wearing contacts; great vision, at least at distance. I just carried readers with me. This year I asked about bifocal contacts, they make them. These things are awesome I can actually see to tie knots. They're a huge improvement over my lined bifocal glasses, I couldn't get used to transition type lenses. Anyone else wear these things? The only complaint I have is, if they get the least bit dry they will slip a little, causing momentary blurred vision. Couple of blinks and they shift back.
  13. Sounds like u need a better lock on the door, so your little man doesn't turn them loose again, or worse go with them next time. When my son was three I sent him through the doggie door, I had locked myself out! He thought that was so cool and actually crawled out the door one day.
  14. I understand enough to comprehend batting averages, era's, errors, pitching (i was a pitcher, had a decent fast ball 90mph), o just never got into watching. The cerebral aspect is why fans cringe during a strike, it throws all the averages off etc Its also why strikes work for baseball more than any other sport. I like going to the stadium (park) to watch a pro game, just something about a TV game.
  15. I cannot skip anything with a baitcaster, I've been fishing them almost exclusively for a decade. Its a hard technique to do imo
  16. Baseball, about as fun to watch as golf, or grass growing, paint drying. Loved playing as a kid, can't watch a game on TV tho
  17. I think that most pros use what works for them, when going for the big check that some tourney's pay, then at the winning stand they push the product that's paying the bills. I really like MLF, they product placement in the series is unreal tho. Most pros sponsorships pay only day to day cost, that gets them on the road. I would hate to think of the money it costs to compete. The Elite series is what $50,000 annually plus tourney fess.
  18. Getting a BPS PQ on sale is a good option at one time I had 5 of them, due to an injury I had to switch to lh reels. Glad I did too, so many deals, I've picked up nib quantum energies for 70 bucks shipping included. There are deals to be found just have to look. The Pro Quaffer is a great reel, quantum produces so many reels that overstock items abound you can definitely get a kinetic, and given enough time find an energy at that price,
  19. Thanks fellas, I had tried contacting humminbird first, live chat was closed for the day. Will be talking with them tomorrow, loving the hd display btw. I think the upgraded transducer was money well spent.
  20. I launch by myself allot, I back in just enough to be able to back off using the motor. I have a small step that I keep in the truck. I climb into the bed walk to the trailer step in the boat, back off. Stay dry and don't bang up the boat or trailer.
  21. My unit is a Humminbird 899, and I have a weird problem. I'm getting noise feedback, I have the correct transducer XTM 9 HDSI 180 T, I think that's in the correct order. Here is the strange part, I only get feedback in SI mode and only at certain speeds. I have a motorguide 36 volt, 108lbs thrust. Speeds 1-3 its so bad the whole screen is wiped out. 3.1-5 fine no feedback, 5.1-7 some feedback, on high none. It only affects the SI mode DI and 2d are crystal clear. Inn going to update the software, after that I guess run a dedicated ground from battery to trolling motor casing. Already have noise filter set at max, and the unit is on a dedicated circuit ran off of cranking battery. Any ideas?
  22. Going to Lake Murray tomorrow, plan on pitching these under docks, hopefully I'll have a good report for y'all tomorrow.
  23. Someone should warn your soon to be victims, lol. Ghoti is right its the product of a diseased mind.
  24. Regarding Tim Kelly's post, I can't believe I forgot the FG knot. By far the strongest line to leader knot and easy to tie. Thanks for adding that.
