i never do much of a knot with fluro or mono.never had a issue.i think it his drag.did you get it wet or anything?

i have the MH XF 7'2 and use it as my main rod.its very strong and sensitive.although i do use it for frogs its the most comfortable rod i own.i have the 6'8 MH XF too.use it around close cover with plastics weightless to 5/8 or so.

im fully aware of how to cast. my question was,all things being even,will i loose casting distance with a lower quality reel? do you own a steez /core or a E7 to compare it too?

i got one two years ago,i never did like it.i gave it away after i got a compre.i know there is a huge diffenence,but there are way better rods around the same price.if it were me i would spend a little more and look at a house brand rod on sale . not bashing just saying.good luck

ok i have a core and a steez 100 i use for frogs.as most of you know its my fav way to fish.i love the distance i get with these two reels,but there slow.just a little.i have never had a 7 to 1,and would like to try.being a frog reel i dont need crazy smooth or anything. what im wondering is will i be able to cast a full size spro frog as far with a curado E7?as far as the steez or core?i use 50lbs braid.or would the chronarch D7 cast farther?i know it will for lighter stuff,but at this weight does it make a difference? and im a lefty so no steez 7 to 1 for us :'(

i would throw a crank to find some fish,then probe with a tube.topwater is fun if the fish are active.

well its a good today.mine just came in.thank you ups. its very light and it so comfy to hold. did a little grass punching with it today pulled out 10lber after 10lber. ;D im going to be ordering a few more for frogs and spinnerbaits. anyone want to buy some used steez and cores?

i lost my mom april 18 2009 to cancer:(she was a great woman,and a great friend.she would go fishing with me alot.we would take out the canoe and spend the day out on the water.i spent all spring with her,while she was sick.i didnt have time to fish,bc i wanted to be with her all the time i had off work.she use to ask me to watch a fishing movies with her,i knew she didnt really care about that we just wanted to be close.the greatest and hardest moment i had was sitting on her bed while she tried to sleep,as i would read her the bible.i miss her more then anything.im 27 she was 47.it turned out that i got an extra day off,so i thought i would do a half a day of fishing.i had been dreaming about it all winter.i thought what couldnt it hurt.well when i got back,she had passed away.knowing i was fishing and not there at her side kills me.fishing to me is something i find peace in true peace.to each there own.it gets me through this till i see her again.this is what she left behind. when tomarrow starts without me,and im not there to see. if the sun should rise and find your eyes,all filled with tears for me. i wish so much you wouldnt cry,the way you did today. while thinking of the many things,we didnt get to say. i know how much you love me,as much as i love you. and each time that you think of me.i know you'll miss me too. but when tomarrow starts without me,please try and understand. that an angel came and called my name,and took me by the hand. and said my place was ready,in heaven far above. and that i would have to leave behind,all those i dearly love. if i could re-live yesterday,just for a little while. id say goodbye and kiss you,and maybe see you smile. but then i finally realized,that this could never be. for emptyness and memories,would take the place of me. and when i thought of worldly things,i might miss tomarrow. i thought of you and when i did,me heart was filled with sorrow. but when i walked through heavens gate,i felt so much at home when God looked down and smiled at me,from his golden throne. i guess it would work.you just wouldnt get the same distance,but not always needed.i use a fast action.only because i dont use cranks much where i fish.
