Any Ideas?
You state that he cannot sit for long, but do not explain why. Does his butt get sore? Does his back need more support? Sometimes a gel seat cushion helps immensely, since they distribute pressure evenly upon the butt. But, they are heavy. A four inch thick gel seat cushion can weigh ten pounds or more. If it's support for the back, Alpster has an excellent suggestion with the webbed lawn chair. Light, sturdy, and will dry quickly if it gets wet.

Gill Hooking Fish....
The next time you have a bleeding fish, notice what happens when a drop of blood hits the water. It instantly clots. I noticed this a couple of years ago. I have twice caught the same fish that had severe damage to its gills. One of the gills was severed near the head, and actually trailed out between the gill plate and the body. The gill itself was white. The other gills were bright red. I caught this same fish two weeks later, hanging out by the same rock where I first caught it. I cannot comment on the Mountain Dew therapy, but I know that in the air blood that is running profusely clots instantly upon hitting the water.

Why Is Confidence Key?
Why do you catch more, and better fish when you are alone? Simple. You aren't sharing the fish with anyone else on your boat. In addition, unless you are selfish, you have to position the boat to give your buddy lines to cast to productive spots, which means you cannot/should not set the boat position to give yourself optimum casting lines. Another reason is that when the pressure is on, such as in a tournament, to perform, the human body tends to tense up, just like a golfer who has to make a critical shot. Fishing alone, not in a tournament, you are more relaxed, there is nothing at stake. You're putting pressure on yourself.

Need Pm Test.
Here's the pm I sent you. You have to click on "Send me a message" on the person's profile that you want to contact. It confused me at first. I thought it was requesting that individual to contact me. Be sure to put your topic in the Subject box, then your message goes in the, TA DA, message box. Don't know why they changed the format of the pm system. It takes a bit of getting used to. One more thing. You will not receive a pop up message that tells you someone has sent a pm to you. Click on your name in your profile. You'll find "new conversations" or some such thing. They are still working some of the bugs out of the system. I suspect this is one of them.

Puzzle That Needs To Be Solved!
Q272-01RU-EAJG-NV1R There are two possibilities for "O", 0 or O, and three possibilities for "1", 1, I or i, as you have stated the "problem". There is one "0" and 2 "I"s. 2 X 3 X 3 = 18 permutations.

Boat Cover
Carefully research any cover you want to use when trailering a boat. I have a Nitro cover for my Z7. It fits like a glove. It has a ratchet device on each side at the stern to tighten the cable/cord that is stitched into the edge of the cover. When you unzip the cover to access either ratchet, there is a warning which clearly states that if you intend to use the cover when traveling long distances, or at high speeds, you must put a protective film on the hull at the edge of the cover, or in some way protect the hull from the edge of the cover, particularly with fiberglass boats. I've recently seen some nice boats, including a Triton that had the gel coat badly scuffed and damaged by the edge of the cover. Look into a cover with several straps that loop around the trailer frame that hold the edge of the cover away from the hull. Even with an aluminum boat there is no need to scuff the hull. One member on the road trip had a cover that kept the edge off the hull, and had no problem. But, he had a cover on his motor, and it did scuff the finish on the motor at the edge of the cover. I would have ruined the finish on my Z7 had I kept it covered returning from the road trip in Kentucky. Got home and there was all sorts of road grime on the hull, including the interior. It will easily wash off. Had a cover been on the boat, that grit and grime would have gotten between the hull and the cover, and scoured the finish from the gel coat. Some say they don't have a problem trailering with the cover on. I'll trust my own eyes, and the warning in two places on my cover.

Pet Peeves
Only one pet peeve really. It covers most of the above. A lack of common courtesy by other boaters, be they fishermen or not.

advice on new boat..
For any who are interested, this is the pm I sent to Glock. As far as upgrades goes. Try to get a package where the trailer has the brakes. Yours should come with the Optimax. I have the older EFI. It runs fine, but I understand the Optimax is more fuel efficient. Get a keel guard. It's a must. You can ease the boat onto a ramp without damaging the gel coat. It will cost around three hundred installed. Don't do it yourself. If not installed properly, by someone who knows what they are doing it may end up on the bottom of the pond. Get one with a light colored interior. Ever noticed how hot black topped parking lots get on sunny days? Mine is white. Very comfortable on hot days. Sunglasses take care of any glare. You should be wearing sunglasses while fishing. Not only because they give you better visibility into the water, but because they protect your eyes. Cataracts are linked to UV rays from sunlight. They come pretty much turnkey. All the tie downs for the boat to trailer, the transom saver, an onboard charger though the standard is a two bank, 12 volt only charger. They usually hook one bank to a trolling motor battery and the other to the battery for starting the engine and running the electrical stuff such as lights, bilge pump, fish finders, etc. Have them hook a bank to each of the trolling motor batteries. The starting battery should be kept charged by the engine. While the charge from one of the trolling motor batteries may trickle to the other, it will take more than an overnight charge to fully charge both batteries. You may find that if you are not running the engine much, the starting battery may need charging to keep it up to snuff. Get a decent, small battery charger, and hook it up to the starting battery. You have to lift the back hatch anyway to get access to the power cord for the onboard charger, so it's no big deal to hook up a charger to the starting battery. If you fish bigger waters, and run the motor for more than a few minutes at the time, it should keep the battery charged. I fish mostly small ponds and lakes around here, and the motor doesn't run much more than a half hour total for the day, if that. It may take several days but it does eventually drain the battery. Keeping it properly charged will maximize the battery's life. Check the wiring on the trailer where it goes into the frame. If there is no protection from chaffing, you can get use a piece of old garden hose or rubber tubing to protect the wires from chaffing. They will chaff through and then short out, leaving you without functioning lights. Cut a piece of hose about three inches long, then cut through one side so you can get it around the wire. Then, roll it around the wire, and put it into the hole on the frame, so the frame is in the middle of the hose's length. You might find some of the wires go through washers welded to the frame. Do the same hose thing for them. You want a snug fit so the hose will not move once installed. If its too loose, wrap it with electical tape until you have a good snug fit. The ground wire for the lights is found on the underside of the tongue, bolted to a flat plate. If the wire is on the bottom of that plate, undo the bolt, and put the wire on the top of the plate, then bolt it securely. The ground wire is less likely to be damaged by road debris. Make sure all the fittings are greased. Mine weren't. There are fittings for the folding tongue and a couple of fittings for the brake on the side of the tongue, if you have brakes. If you do buy one, try to get them to do all this stuff. For the time it will take, they should do it free to get the sale. The Nitros while they may not be the best boat on the market, they are far and away the best boat for the dollar.

Best Price On A Lakemaster Chip?
TigerGPS sells them for 139 dollars, ten bucks off regular price. Do a google search. I doubt you'll find them with a significant discount.

Kentucky Lake, Roadtrip #6
Got home at 3:00 a.m. today. If it's time for the next road trip, all I need to do is get my dirty clothes washed, replenish my supply of drop shot sinkers, and the plastics that I used up this past week. The boat is still hooked up. Just say where, and when my last load of wash is dry and repacked in my suitcase, I'll be ready to go. If it's Pickwick, Guntersville, or back to KY Lake, I don't think I can do it non-stop. Then again, maybe I could. I'll be there the day after tomorrow at the latest.

Kayak Angler's New Weapon
The best way to pass a small boat is to idle by it, just as you would in a "NO WAKE ZONE", or give it a wide berth and maintain speed. The further your wake travels, the more it will flatten out. A storm hundreds of miles out to sea can create heavy surf (breakers) conditions. Get out beyond the breakers zone and you have gentle, rolling swells.

Reputation?
I should give you the green plus for that answer, but I should give you a red minus just to be a wise guy. Since I cannot determine the wisest decision, I'll do neither. I will say that the deck is stacked in favor of the positive responses since you can show approval more times than disapproval. Edit: It would be like going to the polls on election day and finding that you could vote for 50 democrats, but only one republican, or vice versa to be sure no one infers that to be a political statement.

48/2(9+3)
It's been a long time, but were it written 48/2X(9+3) you'd have a dilemna. But, when you have 2(9+3), it is treated as a single number, in this case, 24. If memory serves when you have a number followed directly with a calculation in parentheses, you do that calculation, and put the result into the equation. It would boil down to this: __ 48 __ 2(9+3) The nine plus three gets multiplied by 2, not the result of 48 divided by two.

Deadliest Catch
Edgar is back on the Northwestern. It's interesting how some say it's gotten boring and has run its course. I suppose the same could be said for most of the fishing shows on WFN. There really isn't a whole lot of difference in the programs be it catching crabs, or bass, or tarpon, or fill in the blank. Find 'em. Catch 'em. It's all good.

New Website...
If you never saw the old, and registered now, there would be no problem with appearance or function. Any gripes are simply because it has changed, and is awkward to use until you navigate around a bit, and get used to it.

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Many thanks uncle. When driving to a destination, the system does use the routes, "Continue on MA route 24 north.", but try to put it in the address of a destination and good luck. Heck, the only Benton the factory updated nav comes up with is Benton or N Benton, Ohio. Cannot bring it up in KY. But, on the google map, the baloon for Fishermans HQ shows Draffenville, so I'll try that. No problem if I cannot get it to load. It's simple enough according to google maps.

Fix Those Shoelaces With The Frayed Ends.
True, but I'd have to get the shoelaces. I have the heat shrink in stock.

Fix Those Shoelaces With The Frayed Ends.
Quick, simple, neat fix. Heat shrink tubing. Get the smallest size that will accomodate the lace. Cut into inch long pieces, slip over the end of the lace, apply heat, done. No more fussing around with electrical tape for me.

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Is the highway known by another name? Most navigation systems often don't use route numbers. Have no idea why. Route 177 near our house is known to the nav system as American Legion Highway, route 6 (yes the one that runs coast to coast is known as the Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

Reputation?
OK, now, after much perusing, I see the green plus and the red minus. I've seen similar on other forums and they usually turn into a bone of contention, or amusement. One in particular, which was a political forum allowed you to rate posts from one to five stars. You either got one star, or five stars. One from those who held opposing views regardless of the merits of the post, and five from your buddies who were on the same side of the fence, again without regard to the merit of the post, which could range from the ridiculous to the sublime. The rating was done without a thought to the actual value of the post, or whether it was coherent, or just a rant.

Reputation?
What's with the "reputation" that I'm guessing, somehow is a rating system of the members? Who, or what determines an individual's rating? I've searched around the forum, including searching the forum using the word reputation, and it comes up empty. While I'm asking about the reputation thingy, what's with the "neutral" that is beneath the reputation score?

Power Loading
That happened to me this past Sunday. The trailer needed to go deeper. That presented a problem with boat alignment since the bow height was good but the hull was floating above the bunks. It was a struggle to get it loaded. I've loaded at a lot of ramps without a problem, but the slope of that one had me flummoxed.
