  1. I do. Shouldn't it be stretched across the hood?
  2. Cholesterol meds can cause cramping. I surmise that other meds might do the same. If you're taking any meds, and getting nightly cramps, check with your doctor. A different med may reduce or eliminate the problem.
  3. "Now I'm ready to try my own crazy concoction to regrow hair and thicken it up without a prescription, without Rogaine, and without spending more than $30 a month. This should be fun. The doctor wants me to have blood work done once a month to make sure everything stays well. But everything I'm doing makes perfect sense so there is a good chance it might really work." The bloodwork will cost you, or someone, more than thirty dollars per month. The fact that your doc wants you to have bloodwork done once a month seems to contradict his go for it advice. It doesn't seem wise to me that any doctor would approve of patient using themselves as a medical guinea pig. To do so would put them in a lawyer's crosshairs should this experiment go awry.
  4. Hair today. Gone tomorrow.
  5. The best part of flying is the takeoffs and the landings. Other than that, boring. Speaking of drinking to get on a plane, I used to meet up with a bunch of guys from California, and we'd play golf in Arizona or Myrtle Beach for a couple of weeks. A couple of them, my best buddies of the group, would take a limo to the airport, drink in the limo, drink in the lounge at the airport, and board the plane in a stupor. They got thrown off one flight because one of them was too loud, asking in a loud voice if everyone was ready to party. My other buddy who flew a lot, and was reasonably sober, threatened to take his company's business elsewhere if they didn't get to Myrtle Beach on that same day. The airline acquiesed, put them on a non-stop flight, and in first class to boot, where they were served free drinks during the flight. I was to meet them at the airport. I got there a half hour ahead of their scheduled arrival and they were there waiting for me. It seems the non-stop flight arrived an hour before their originally scheduled flight.
  6. Thanks for the replies. Made it fine, no problems. I did notice the left wheel was running a bit warmer than the right wheel, when I checked it after visiting the men's room in the rest area. Then I figured out why. I was headed south on a sunny day. The black, left side tire was being warmed by the sun, while the left side was in the shade. Turned out to be the opposite in the middle of the afternoon. The right tire was warmer.
  7. Now, seriously, there are Ford men, GM men, and Dodge men, on here. If you pay attention, some of them will think and proclaim that the other brands are PsOS, while they swear by theirs. Any of them will serve you well if it has been maintained and not beat up. Mileage will likely be comparable for similar trucks. Look around. Find out what appeals to you and test drive all the brands. Then make up your own mind. They all run good, ride good, and are solidly built. Heck, check out Toyotas and Nissans while you are at it.
  8. "Thanks for calling me out on the many spelling errors i have. It will be fixed." NO! Now go back and change the "i" between errors and have to an upper case "I". Then we'll all be happy. :D
  9. I understand the plane can be controlled from either seat. It was a what if question. How it would come about I have no idea other than Murphy's law. How long does it take for a co-pilot, when he gets promoted to operating the joy stick with the opposite hand, and to get used to the reversed key pad?
  10. Don't get too comfortable. It is already banned in Massachusetts beginning in 2011. I do believe it's also banned in other states, and other states are considering it. The environmental groups carry a lot of clout, and they will never quit trying to impose their agenda on everyone else.
  11. I was going through the boat and trailer, making sure everything was in order before my wife and I head to Georgia on Sunday. I jacked up the trailer, checked to make sure the wheels did not have play in them, and to check for water in the bearings, etc. All was fine, except for one (minor I hope) thing. When I spun the right wheel backward it rotated freely. When I spun it forward, the brake dragged a bit. The other wheel rotated freely in either direction. I suspect it may be a bit of rust or contamination that causes the brake to "bind" when the wheel is spun forward. Playing with it for a bit reduced the "binding". I've seen this happen on cars and trucks, and it has been caused by rust or other contaminant, in the case of drum brakes, a bit of grease or oil on the shoes can make them tend to grab. But, here's my question. How long do brake pads last on boat trailers. I know it will vary depending on how hard one drives/brakes their vehicle. Just looking for a ballpark figure.
  12. Does every player get paid? Or is it just the big men on campus who do? The problems we see with so many of the pro athletes is because they have been treated as special, and exempt from the rules that apply to everyone else. Beginning in high school, if they are good enough in a sport, teachers give them passing grades so they can stay on the team. This is especially true in the big name high schools and into college. It's no wonder that so many of them ruin their lives. They been programmed to do as they please with no consequences. In the long run, they'd all be better off if they had to live by the standards that apply to the rest of the students. Paying them would just reinforce, and validate their special treatment.
  13. Good point about the displays. That makes perfect sense. The other thing thatcaught my eye were the two panels outboard of the displays. The panels closest to the displays were lighted and had four knobs in the corners and two plugs or knobs in the middle. Just outboard of those is a two knob panel, whose functions are clearly reversed. Can be seen by the position information around each knob. I have no idea what they do, probably not critical functions regarding control of the plane in an emergency. I've always been interested in these things on any type of machine.
  14. Grammatically speaking, the use of multiple exclamation marks at the end of a sentence, though done for emphasis is a grammatical error. I do it too, but, according to the rules of grammar as I learned them, it is incorrect. On the other hand, it appears that when it comes to college football, "PASSIONS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  15. The cockpit was the most interesting for me. What I found curious was that some of the controls were mirror images of the left and right sides. Controls and even the screens were reversed on the opposite sides. I would expect them to be the same on both sides. Get used to one side of the plane then get switched to the other in an emergency and in a critical situation where you are trained to turn or switch a left side control, if you reach for the left side control, it will be the wrong move. Two of the main screens are reversed. Looks nice, but it certainly increases the liklihood of making the wrong move if you have to switch seats. It's like looking at the gauges in your vehicle. Switch them around and you'll spend more time trying to read them, and less time with your eyes on the road. I know these guys are trained to the Nth degree, but to reverse the location of controls and monitoring screens for the sake of symetry makes no sense to me. It is a "bad boy"
  16. A boat is a platform on the water to get you to the fishing grounds. The fish don't know if you're fishing from a canoe, the shore, a raft, or an inner tube. It is not as convenient to fish from a multi-purpose boat because it will blow around more, and is not as efficient, regarding storage. Flipping, pitching and fishing under and around docks won't be quite as easy from the multi-purpose boat. Actually, a bass boat is like fishing from a raft since it is basically a platform with a cockpit for operating controls and seating. You'll miss the hideaway storage, and some of the other features, but you should still have a great time on the water. It's all about trade offs and compromises. One final thought. When it comes to fishing from boats, most fishing is done from other types of boats.
  17. I just checked the owner's manual for my 150. It's a newer model, but the only thing it says about operating the engine is to check to make sure there is a steady stream of water from the water pump indicator hole, not a word about the pressure range. The owners manual does say the water pump impeller and housing should be checked/replaced every hundred hours. At idle, mine shows the needle just off the stop pin. At wide open, it runs about 15 - 20 pounds. The tech told me that the main thing is to be sure there is a strong steady stream from the indicator hole. He did recommend getting the pump checked at least once a year, more often if the boat is operated in water with sediment suspended in it. Will have my water pump checked out. At the very least, the impeller will be replaced. If there is the slightest question about the housing, it will be replaced too. If the water pressure for your engine has dropped, it would indicate wear on pump components. Replacing the pump is cheap insurance.
  18. I agree with your mini-rant. One would think that with all the tools at their disposal, it would be a simple matter for the government to track down the sources of these spurious e mails. I do believe the feds have given themselves practically unlimited authority to track just about any kind of internet activity. As an aside, if you get anything in the U.S. mail that is a scam, the best thing to do is to bring it to your post office, not the local police. They are better equipped and more likely to deal with mail fraud than local officials.
  19. In fact, the low mileage may make it worse. Most of the damage to an engine takes place when it is started. Short jaunts to the corner store or down the street cause more wear and tear on an engine than driving it fifty or sixty miles.
  20. That's like the guy who went to see the urologist because his wife wasn't able to get pregnant. He came home wearing a tuxedo and his wife asked why he was dressed like that. He told her the doctor told him he was impotent. And since he was impotent, he wanted to look impotent.
  21. There was a time when I got a message that I had been banned. Turned out it was a glitch in the system, or a corrupt cookie for this forum. Forget which, but those things do happen from time to time. As suggested, send Glenn a pm. He's very good about responding.
  22. You would think that Scott Brown would have changed some voters thinking, but that didn't happen. Yes I did vote and yes, it was nice not to hear the phone ringing. Prior to Brown, the last U.S. senator from Mass was Edward Brooke who served from 1967 to 1979. A thirty year span between Brooke and Brown. Brooke and Brown sounds like the name of a bookstore or a law firm. Brooke is brown, but Brown isn't a brook.
  23. pub? As in re"pub"lican, not the drinking establishment.
  24. Yep. But, voting in Massachusetts is a waste of time. The results never change. We do elect a pub governor now and then as an affirmative action thing. The best thing about today happened at eight o'clock. The phone stopped ringing when the polls closed.
  25. The Cowboys? Didn't they learn their lesson with TO? Maybe they can get him back to team up with Moss. That would be interesting.
