just curious
Tell you what. I sit down. It has nothing to do with the aiming. Ever notice when there is a baseboard or heating unit beside a toilet it is often rusty? That is caused by standing and peeing. There were times when cleaning the floor around the bowl, I thought the wax ring was leaking. I could smell the urine while cleaning around the base of the toilet. I came to the conclusion it was from the splattering of standing to pee. I started sitting, and no more problem. When dry, it would have no odor. When the wet towel hit the crystals the odor began. So, if you stand to pee, and are concerned about touching something unclean, don't go into the bathroom barefoot.

a shirt blocks free movement, therefore allowing you to concentrate entirely on the task at hand. shirt tails wonder and hit parts of a toilet that may not be clean, it also hangs when your trying to wipe which i do standing up. it just speeds up the process You cannot be serious. Your shirt touches parts that might not be clean? Do you squat over the bowl, making sure there no skin contact?

I just got my 'bama fishing license online. A question for RW. Will I need a TN license for Monday? It shows I'm committed, though some will say I should be committed. ;D

Fishing a Pond after Heavy Rain
Interesting, heavy rain clears up the pond I fish most often. It's algae blooms that create visibility problems. The aeration of heavy rain clears it up. One other thing to try. It seems to be the case in the above pond. On the high land to the east of the pond is a swamp. When there is a heavy rain, and the swamp gets high enough, it drains into the pond via a small stream. That's the only time the stream runs. It cannot be seen from the pond, but it can be heard, gurgling into the pond. Whether it be the sound, better aeration and thus more oxygen, or food such as bugs, worms, etc., being carried into the pond, I do not know. It may be any or all of them. If there is a stream which empties into the pond mentioned in the first post, the place where it empties into the pond might be a good place to try.

ATTENTION GUYS!!!!
What's the purpose of a fin clipping machine? In Maine, lobstermen v-notch one of the segments of the tail of egg bearing lobsters. It marks them as fertile females, and they cannot be harvested. They must be returned to the sea. The notch disappears after a few moltings. It makes sure that the lobster gets a few more times to reproduce before she can be legally harvested. Unless she gets v-notched again.

You learn something new every day. Today I learned some people take off their shirt to have a shirt. You make it sound as though having a bm is like having sex. I can remember when I was a kid, my mother coming home from her work in a sweat shop, laughing and telling my father of graffiti she saw on the wall of the stall. "The hell with Coca-Cola, this is the pause that refreshes."

Do any fishfinders see through the weeds?
If you can adjust the "gain" or "sensitivity" you should be able to turn them down. By doing that, you can filter out the grass return from the display, or reduce it to an acceptable level. That might solve your problem.

Strike King Finesse worms
I use a pin too, but I heat in in the flame of a candle. It melts into the plastic leaving a small hole that will allow you to thread it onto one of those coil spring worm holders. Just get the end of the spring started in the hole and with a bit of effort it will work. Forget about getting it on the Owner twistlocks, which I prefer. When you put the centering pin into the hole, you cannot get the end of the spring into the worm. I've been shilling the four inch coppertreuse SK worm since the first time I used them. I struggled trying to get them onto a holder as well, and after much meditation came up with the hot safety pin method.

has anybody had any luck in the massachusetts area since ice out
All but three of the 22 were caught on either a Strike King half ounce football jig with a black/blue/flash skirt, or the Booyah equivalent, a half ounce pigskin jig in the rivercraw color (black/blue) using a watermelon black red flake Yamamoto Flappin Hog as a trailer. The other three were caught on a Yamamoto Kreature on a Jackall 3/32 ounce Wacky Jig head with the skirt/tentacles end snug to the ball head. I didn't fish the Kreature near as much as the jigs. Had never fished the Kreature before and wanted to give it a shot. It worked, and while it's hard to make a reliable assessment, I'd give a small edge to the jig.

ATTENTION GUYS!!!!
At present, they "are not" putting restrictions on recreational fishing. If they were, it would be too late to do anything about it. The question should be, are they considering the possibility of putting restrictions on recreational fishing. If they are, now is the time to act. Any actions, to be effective, have to take place before the fact. Once something is enacted, legislated, or regulated, it's nigh onto impossible to get it rescinded. Always keep in mind, politicians legislate, bureaucrats regulate, and their regulations have the force of law.

has anybody had any luck in the massachusetts area since ice out
This will end up being moved to the Northeast Fishing section. But to answer your question, YES!!!!! I'm from southeast Mass, between Fall River and New Bedford. Been out the last four days, and just maybe this afternoon as well. Keeping fingers crossed. Water temp hovered between 41 and 42 degrees. It's now between 45 and 46 degrees. Trips of three hours, four hours, three hours and two hours yesterday. 22 bass caught total. Only two under two pounds, and they were only a quarter pound shy. That count does not include the bass caught by those who went with me on Monday and Tuesday. 4 - 6 feet of water. Rocky bottom, shelves, shoals and ridges.

The bait monkey ain't happy. But I am.
I think I sent a pm to everyone who inquired about the company. If I missed any, send me a pm and I will send it to you via a pm.

He doesn't need to, this post alone should make up for those extra packs! ;D I'm curious as well. Why don't you just post the name of the place up? Customer service that great needs to be recognized. Unfortunately, customer service that great is typically exploited once too many people know of a "deal" received by another. Not insinuating anyone that posted on this thread would do that, but you know how the world works... And that is precisely why I did not post their name, but am sending it in PMs to those who requested it. On the other hand, it also seemed unfair not to acknowlege what they did. You'll have a pm as well.

Used from dealer vs. used from craigslist or similar
I would agree with the prior post. A dealer makes his living by selling boats. Unless he's a total idiot, he wants to keep his customers happy. Word of mouth is the best advertising. An individual wants to get rid of his boat. Unless stated in the purchase/sales agreement, it's buyer beware. The individual once he has his money in hand, has no vested interest in dealing with the problems you may encounter. Unless you can prove fraud, or misrepresentation on the part of the seller, you are stuck with whatever happens.

What's the most underrated soft plastic?
The Strike King 4" elaztech finesse worm. They are darn near indestructible, and absolutely impossible to impale on a barbed holder. But, I've solved that problem. Heat a safety pin in a candle flame and pierce the head along the centerline to a depth of about an inch. It can then be penetrated by the barbed bait holder. A drop of crazy glue, and it's there to stay. A word of caution, do not store them with other types of plastics. They will disintegrate.

The bait monkey ain't happy. But I am.
I placed an order for some finesse worms, twelve packages in all. The order consisted of three packages each of two colors, and two packages each of three different colors. The items were marked as confirmed when I made the payment. However, it turned out that they were out of the two colors of which I wanted three packs of each. The order came today. Along with the six packs I ordered which they had in stock, I received 38 packages of a variety of their products to try out. There was also a nice note from the owner apologizing for the foul up, and hoped I'd like the extra product he shipped as a gift. In addition, when he gets in the items I ordered, he will send them to me. In the end, after ordering 12 packs of plastic, I will have 50. Now that's what I call customer service. Talk about going above and beyond.

I'm game to split the fee with another, if anyone wants to do a guided day of fishing. A full day including everything but your clothing is 300 dollars for one or two fishermen. I know a buck fifty each isn't chump change. But, it's not just the fishing, it's what you'd learn and be able to put to use for the rest of the week. In that regard, the sooner in the week, the better.

Car rooftop rack for Jon boat?
In addition to Thule, Yakima also makes roof racks for just about every vehicle. The new versions are much better than the old suction cup types with tie down straps. They mount using a clamping mechanism. They are also lockable which prevents all but a determined thief from snatching them. They are not cheap. I got two for traveling with my canoe. Installed, the Yakima racks I got cost 400 bucks. The dealer also sells Thules, and he said prices and quality of the two is a toss up. Yakima has round cross tubes, and the Thule has square cross tubes. If you want to go the cheapo route, you can get fairly durable foam blocks that fit snuggly over the gunnels of the boat. Put them on the boat, put the boat on the roof, strap it down from side to side. Tie the bow and stern securely, and you're good to go.

Best spinning reel line
LOL. Bad advice has been around as long as man has walked upright. No age is immune. I've given as much bad advice as the next guy, even though none, ok, very little of it was deliberate. I wasn't addressing the merits of the "arguments" just the intensity to which they degenerated. Then again, my testosterone levels are no doubt lower than they were thirty years ago.

Power Pole or Humminbird 998
You want to spend money to add value to your boat? Sounds like a bad investment to me. I won't say never, but it's extremely rare that your "improvement" adds a value equal to or more than the cost. It usually the other way around. A thousand dollar item to add value will add somewhat less than the thousand dollars you spent to get it. If the Humminbird you want will help you find more fish, that's the thing to get. If not, then get the power pole since it may help you catch more fish because it will hold you in position once you find them.

Best spinning reel line
Why all the passion and fervor over line? Granted, some are better than others, but for the most part, they are all up to the task. Way back when, Stren and Trilene were the ultimate. They were the cat's meow. Those brands are still marketed today, but they are the basic, entry level products of Stren and Berkley. The problem seems to be that some who never fished in the cave man era do not realize or appreciate just how good they have it today, when it comes to equipment. Take it from someone who had been away from freshwater fishing for over thirty years. Today's equipment is light years away from the gear of those days. My dad had a surfcasting rod that he made from lemonwood. Wood rods were quite common before fiberglass came upon the scene. I seem to recall some were even made of tubular metal. And you guys squabble about line?

Favorite Gary Yamamoto Senko Color?
Watermelon red flake, but only because I haven't seen them in coppertreuse, which is my favorite color. Only seen that color in Strike King 3X stuff. The SK four inch, coppertreuse, finesse worm on a shaky head and a drop shot were absolutely killer last year.
