Bummin' Out-Daiwa Iaconelli Spinning Rod
That 7'6" Spinning rod might be the ultimate plastics rod as said. It's only 6" longer than a 'standard' 7 footer. You would be able to launch baits pretty far as well.

Mono size for heavy cover
If you are questioning which lb test to use for what....just read the elite series tournament archives. They are simply the best fishermen in the world, and it always lists the techniques and lb test used in the 'results'.

7' Carrot Stix Spinning & Reel Choice
I have a couple of Daiwa TD Advantages, and absolutely love them. I like shimano and daiwa, but for mid-range spinning reels, I lean toward daiwa. As far as line, I use 8lb CXX on my MH spinning rig. I find it tolerable, but you won't win any casting contests. Try Pline CX premium...very limp and has excellent clarity.

Overlooked Lure Class
+1. It's all about the Joe's flutter spoon that Kelly Jordan made famous. That ultimate match fishing show where he caught 5 fish for 25lbs in 5 casts was unreal! Spoons are not really a part of my gameplan, but they need to be. I've watched video on how to work them, and which spoon to buy, but haven't given them any TOW.

Mono size for heavy cover
I was fishing 25# cxx last night when it was under 40 degrees with a light rain coming down. No problems what so ever. I've used 15 and 17 pound several times when it was at least that cold with no problems. Hear all these problems about cxx and I've never had a problem. Must be the Wisconsin Air.

Revo SX Question
Pushing the pins out away from center turns them on. Clicked in against the spool axis is off. I normally have 2 on and rarely adjust them again except in extreme cases. Then I would jump up to 3 on. I've never done more than that. Is your avatar a piece of moldy bread?

Stray Cats and City Gov't at it's finest! Please read. Need Advice.
Feral cats are VERY afraid of people. LOL at thinking they will harm small children...they will run for their life! Cats don't dig up flowers, and they aren't going to give you a disease. It's very rare for a cat to have rabies, and even then they would have to bite you (good luck catching one...that's the only way to get bit). My parents live out in the coutry (somewhat anyway) and there are a bunch of stray cats around. I've never seen 'piles' of cat crap anywhere, and I can't imagine your yard has a bunch of piles everywhere. Give'em a break...they are going against the odds as it is...at least give them the respect you give a bass. I thought most of yall were christians?

G blank, Powell, Kistler, Shimano, Falcon, E21, American Rodsmiths, and more?
I would buy the Damiki just because I like to try new rods. The Damiki rods look hot, and Damiki makes high quality products. They are new to the states, but have been overseas for years. The Citica would look bad arse on one of those dudes....

disappointed by Daiwa
It's a breeze to prove haters wrong...just snap a pic of your two Fuegos and they can all eat crow! Everybody has a digital camera these days...vindication is awesome!

Adding scent to stored plastics
In my experience, it will leak out on down the road and make your bags all greasy. Plus, I like to apply scent after I rig a bait, so I don't get my hands all nasty.

LC Pointer DD vs. LC SK Jerk
I wish I had a definitive answer for you, but I don't. 3 years ago I won a club tournament on an X-rap right after a huge cold front in the spring. My partner and several others in the club were throwing pointers and got skunked. You would think that a more subtle action would entice fish during a tough bite, but sometimes it's just the opposite. I'll start with one or the other, and if I'm not getting bit and I feel there should be a jerkbait bite...I may try the other.

LC Pointer DD vs. LC SK Jerk
Yes. The Pointer is noticeably more subtle. The Stacy King jerkbait is quite a bit more aggressive....similarly to an X-rap.

disappointed by Daiwa
I think this guy posted that he bought a Stella that grinded horribly. He must have some 'bad luck' with buying reels :-?

How about posting a pic of your reels. I'd like to see the scratches....

Scratched up? You need to take them back...sounds like they are used. Some people will use a reel, clean it up, and put it back in the wrapper and pass it off as new when they return it. It then ends up in your hands. I always inspect a reel before I buy it to make sure. I've played with the new Fuego at Cabelas and it is nothing short of sweet and impressive...I wanted one pretty bad but didn't want to shell out the $270.

Yamamoto sale at Dick's
My local Dick's has the crappiest tackle selection, but I took advantage of the sale and coupon that was posted to buy some Senkos, which is all the Yamamoto baits they had. I purchased 12 bags of Senkos for $30, or roughly $2.50 a bag. I went through the line with 6 bags, which came up to $15, and told her I had another coupon, and asked if I needed to come back on a different date to use it. "No" the cashier said. "I just can't scan 2 coupons for the same transaction. Go grab what you want." Great deal...print out that coupon!

Weight isn't everything
I think your scales are broken. I'm no Kistler fan by any means, but I've held them and they have to be under 4ozs. An MBR844 IMX weighs about 4.7ozs.

Can you all help me pick a decent rod?
Slow speed reels dominated crankbait fishing starting in the 80's, but now days, there are a lot of anglers that like higher speed reels for cranking. Not a 7.1:1 (only KVD does that), but I like a 6.2:1. You can fish a whole lot faster by being able to reel your bait in quickly when you are finished with a cast.

How to figure out action?
To view a rods action (what I do in the store), is to swing the rod down and hit it against the palm of your hand about where the blank is labeled. Watch the tip area as you do this repeatedly; the rods action is clearly seen. Even if two rods are both labeled fast, by doing this you can see which one is faster.
