  1. the rod is a CR 723 GL2 , I have 3 johnny morris sig. series rods that I love but the loomis just seemed to have a better tip. So what should I try next that performs like the loomis ? Have been looking around but it gets confusing unless you can try it.
  2. got caught in a freak out of nowhere storm yesterday , wind blew me off my feet and I broke my new g loomis rod in 3 pcs. I know warranty isn't going to do me any good for that. My question is can I by just a blank and reuse my guides and handle or should I just plan on buying another one ? It was like loosing a best friend , but had to save the boat before piling up on the rocks.
  3. thanks , I can buy a 6'6" heavey that is a green GL2 for the same price that is also new. Good to have friends that need money and own good quality gear.
  4. picked up a brand new , never used GL2 CR723 6' med. heavy rod for $100.00 I always used bass pro extremes and johnny morris sig. series rods. Is this a decent rod ? I needed another 6' so hope it works well.
  5. one of my favorite plastics here in maine. pumpkin with char. tail
  6. the 2 happiest days of your life are the day you buy a boat the day you sell the boat
  7. bounce a nice big crankbait off his boat !
  8. Hey goldstar I put a 13 1/4" x 19" pitch turning point vented prop on and a SE sport 200 hydrofoil on my 70 today. won't have a chance to try it til sunday , the boatyard is nuts , way to much work. I will let you know the results sunday night.
  9. nothing wrong with getting everything possible out of your boat. checked my prop and it is a 13 1/4" x 17" pitch with a heavy cup added. just picked up a 13 x 19 to try. I think it might be a little to much pitch but will find out this weekend. will let yo know what it does. have plenty more to try.
  10. its a yamaha prop and the numbers are gone. it measures 13 1/2" in dia. I will have to call H + H prop. and ask them what it is. I just had them put a heavier cup in it. that knocked my rpm's down to 5,800 which is great but lost 2 mph's. going to go with a new prop , same style but 1 more inch of pitch. will let you know what my pitch is now and what I end up with. I know if I can get it to stop slapping with the right prop it will do 44 to 45 mph's
  11. I have a 93 pro 17. just removed a 40 yamaha and hung a 70 on it. the 40 did 33 mph's , boat loaded , the 70 monday night did 41 mph's on gps turning 6000 rpm's. Sent the prop out to increase the cup and bring it down to 5,800. could have gotten more out of it but starts to porpose bad when trimmed up. going to take the hydro foil off my 40 and that should cure it. I think its good for 43 to 45 when done.
  12. trojans the only way to go. stay away from agm's for trolling motor batts. If you discharge them to low , you have to eqaulize them to bring them back and its a pain to do it right , we have to do our customers agm's when they run them down to low.
  13. Went to Pleasant Pond for the first trip out this year. Caught 7 but nothing big. Probably to early in the morning , should have waited a bit for water to warm up. Anyone know why the water level is down 3' ? All my spots I like to fish , the wood is high and dry. This is P.Pond outside of Richmond.
  14. Went to Little Sebago today and caught 4 on crankbaits and 2 on soft plastics. It slowed down about 10:00 once the sun was up higher and I decided to try some senkos I bought the other day. Holy cow , I hammered the bass til I quit at 2:30. I cannot believe how these things work ! Even bass that where spooked could not resist these things. If you have never tried them you are missing out , big time. I read everything I could find about fishing them , but never really planned on trying them , sure glad I did.
  15. nice fish , what lake where you on that you found 75 deg. water? I haven't seen anything close to that temp. and I have been fishing from so. maine to mid state. I understand if you don't want to say , once again though nice fish.
  16. thanks , it was a great looking fish , nice colors. If I had to take a guess as to the weight I would say at least 7 lbs. ? Can't wait til this Saturday , I will be in my boat !
  17. went back out Sunday morning for a few hours and caught 5 bass with a really big bonus fish , can't wait to get into my boat this Saturday , it is supose to be really warm , it should be great !
  18. My buddy and I caught 17 bass this morning and he caught a huge crappie and his biggest bass was 6 lbs. The above pic was my best. I am having trouble trying to post the rest of the pics.
  19. first time out
  20. my favorite to fish is pleasant pond and and the stream , I also fish little sebago alot just because its close to home , can run over after work. This year I would like to try new places around the state. I am ready for some new water.
  21. Most of the places I fish get hit pretty hard. I try to fish soft plastics that no one else is fishing. I love soft plastics and use the newest creature baits I can find. I catch fish on spinner baits also and am still tying to figure out crankbaits. I find it amazing that when I fish with a good friend who is great with crankbaits I will fish the same thing but always go back to what I have confidence in which is soft plastics. I have to force myself to change baits , old habits die hard.
  22. I am new to this site , live just north of Portland , can't wait to hit the water . I would like to learn more about this USA bassin
