  1. fish as early as possible then get out before all the boat traffic starts up. kettle cove with a small black spinnerbait is great for smallies. turtle cove for LM
  2. I do not like it either when people kill snappers , no need of it
  3. I have a carbon lite 6.4 reel and want to put 5.4 gears in it. does anyone have a 5.4 JCL10SA parts diagram they could give me the part no's. for the main and pinion gear ? it would be much appreciated !
  4. I think thats pretty good of you to feed the kittens
  5. I have watched it a few times now and think the format is great. I prefere to watch this over a plain old tourney style show. That part about real time updates on the others success is awesome. To me this style of fishing really shows who can adapt with no practice and I also like the fact they are fishing out of smaller boats.
  6. I read all the posts and was not going to respond but then I couldn't resist. All my tools at the boatyard are snap-on , I think I'm part owner of the company now. I learned fast that no other tool manufacturer came close to the qaulity. When u step on to a million dollar plus yacht you better be ready. I do not think the same way towards fishing gear. I have spent some good money on gear and now have what I am very happy with from BPS to high end Qauntum. When I go to Cabelas and see those steez rods for $500. plus I laugh to myself. I suppose if money where not a problem I would try one but no one can convince me that rod is going to catch me 1 more fish than my JM sig series or veritas rods , sorry !
  7. use the search option , theres plenty on both items.
  8. it is a must have. J Franco was raving about it and I finally bought some last year and what a differance especialy when you use a line like cxx. To me its as important as the baits I use.
  9. I have owned a ton of reels and not cheap ones either. Every brand out there and of all my reels I have now [ won't mention brands] I love my gold BPS carbonlite the best. Now you can all laugh , but it is my favorite.
  10. this is my first year using fc and I decided to try bps flouro in 14 lb. and I must say it has been better than my mono and copolymer lines. it feels extremely sensitive and even at 28 degree mornings I have not had any issues. I do keep it sprayed with kvd line cond. and that makes a big differance [thanks john f] I will definitly be buying more and swapping out more reels to it. from my experience there is no need need to spend the crazy money for tatsu although I did have a spool in my hand but put it back and went with xps , no regrets.
  11. well thank you for your service. on this tour my son is head of security for the col. start giving it some thought about a time and place , mid state maybe ? and how we can get some others to attend.
  12. He is army and I will tell him you said thanks. It was great to get out and try out all the new gear , new trailer and boat mods Stinkus and I did over the winter which was alot. I wish the lakes down here flooded into the brush the way it does up your way , my favorite type of fishing. We going to try and do a get together this year for the mainers ? Sure would be fun if we could pull it off.
  13. just wanted to let anyone know that if you haven't been out yet that Pleasant Pond and Cobbo stream are on fire and not many boats out , yet ! Also ran into Troy Garrison out there and he's been doing excellent out there to.
  14. there are no more bass in Cobbo so I would go to NH instead. LOL'S
  15. Ice is out early this year in maine coupled with a week of over 70 degree days. Stinkus and I hit Pleasant Pond on saturday morning with temps in the upper 30'S and the fishing was great , I caught 22 LM and Stinkus 8 which is way ahead out last year we could not get out til easter. We met Troy Garrison who is a Maine pro and is fishing the FLW tour this year , what a beautiful boat ! We talked to him for a good half hour out on the water and he was extremely pleasant and answered alot of questions. Took some pics of him to send to my son who is in Afghanistan and missing his favorite hobby which is bass fishing. He will miss the whole season this year while defending our rights.
  16. Backwater Custom Baits jig and a rage trailer does it for me no. 1 producer for big bass , give them a try , excellent co. to deal with. Won't give up my best color though.
  17. same exact one I have , it takes a standard 3/4" seat pin. by the way I like this post much better than my hyd, one.
  18. when he farts and I'm down wind
  19. if you take it apart it can be straightened easily
  20. Hey John what didn't you like about it ?
  21. I love bass fishing as much as the next guy but would never go to one of those events. I would rather go fishing in my boat somewhere quiet. The only heroes I have are the ones fighting for our freedom not fisherman.
  22. time to look for a new outboard. up here those engines are known as opti bombs. as way2slow mentioned they do have ecm issues. I would recheck the compression and make sure it is done correctly , there is a right way and wrong way. at 80 psi it should be really hard starting cold.
  23. any fishing show that does not have Roland Martin I will watch
  24. I don't fish tourneys and would not use one of those a rigs either , they are for mackeral fishing not bass. just my opinion
