  1. Thanks for the info I'll have to pick one up!
  2. That is a great resource! Thanks!! How did you come across that? Do you know the level of the draw down (ft?) ??
  3. I've had some luck catching bass under trees and in the lilly pads (very limited and lots have died recently, look in the arms of the lake) pitching soft plastics and some jigs. I have heard that fishing the old creek bed can be productive, but has never panned out for me! Keep us posted I'd love to hear what you find out! And like olebiker said watch out for the stumps!!!
  4. Wow...I've driven a 15hp 4 stroke and those have torque compared to the 2 stroke 15hp that I have. I would hate to see the power steering or friction control go out on one of those 250's!
  5. I used to do this but always had a problem getting a good ground, so the lights were always dim! So I went ahead and made some out of 1.5 inch pvc, bent the pvc over a tire after heating it then clamped it on and rewired the trailer. If you want more specific instructions let me know I'll try and help you out. Also this way your lights stay out of the water and double as a guide to put the boat on the trailer We heated the ends of the PVC when we clamped it to the trailer to stop the lights from moving. Hope this helped!
  6. Congrats great fish!
  7. Great information! I cant wait to try it! As a side question would this work equally as well in stained water with timber?
  8. Sorry i'll have to say no...even if it means all I catch is dinks!!!
  9. Rose your right about me not being able to move the boat, but did you see my brother on there....still stable!! You need to get down here so we can fish!!!
  10. Thanks Memo, but you dont want to be here in August!!! lol but our winters are great!
  11. Ya I dont wanna give away any secrets but not many people actually fish there...probably discouraged by the amount of lilly's, but not me!! ;D
  12. Two videos to show the stability: 1st with me 140 lbs 2nd My brother 230 lbs A couple of pics of the fish today 18.5 in I only caught a couple of dinks > oh well!
  13. across the back of the transom (probably not the widest point) its 45 inches
  14. Ya I checked it with my brother on top of the front deck and no bowing at all and he weighs like 230, so its sturdy! I still think I might add two more supports in there but well see! GOING FISHING NOW!
  15. The way that I did it was just wedge it in tightly (see picture 2; the boards that go the width of the seat)without putting any screws into it, but I havent got a chance to try it out yet so I may end up putting a sheet metal screw or figuring out a way to put in a nut and bolt. Hopefully I wont have to do that but im worried about trailering... we will see. The red boards are under the blue boards and the blue boards are sitting on the bench seats. The red boards are the ones that are wedged between the seats and held to the blue boards with screws. Not sure if I cleared that up let me know if you would like me to try that again! :-/
  16. Thanks guys! It really wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be, but I really didnt do anything special just basic! Ill let you know how it goes tomorrow for the maiden voyage of the new decks!
  17. Well after seeing some other great boats and falling off my small casting spot in the front it was time to make a change to the old jon! An empty 1958 Orlando Clipper I added 2x2 untreated pine coated them in water sealer, I used 3/4 in plywood on top of that and coated it in lowes carpet using rubber cement, total cost ended up being around 50$ (but we had the plywood laying around, otherwise I would have gone for 1/2 in and put 2 more supports up front.) Another thing to mention would be that I didnt screw it into the boat, I basically wedged it in so the 2x2's going across the boat are holding the decks in place. I may end up adding a couple of screws into the boat if it needs it but the decks are wedged in tight, so hopefully I wont need to! The front deck is about 5' long and the back deck is just shy of 2 feet wide. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions just ask!
  18. Let me start out by saying that im not a welder, but I would take it by your local welder and see what he says. If its too much I would just use jb weld (it has worked on the rivets on my jon boat great!). The question to ask yourself is do you want it fixed now or do you want it fixed right??
  19. Thanks for the offer bacabasser, I may be living there in a year (going to NOVA for grad school), I would love to catch some! I still dont mind having constant action, sometimes I get pretty bored throwing baits for hours for only a few fish i'm sure eveyone can agree with that on some days!
  20. I thought the swim senko looked pretty good and probably easier to throw with the set up I have right now; MH rod with a real old shimano bantum 100. Has anyone else used the swim senko with any success?
  21. Great Fish Bassn Blvd cant complain w/ 4 fish in 45 min imho Interesting opinion Bocabasser, why do you say they are too easy to catch? I would love to get down there and catch them
  22. Thanks thats what I thought just wasnt exactly sure! great help any other places I should look for them?
  23. Thanks for the replies guys! Now someones going to have to pull the bait monkey off my back!! Also are there any smaller (<1 oz) swimbaits or is the point that the baits are bigger and thus produce bigger bass? (sorry if this is a dumb question or already been answered)
  24. I've see a lot of people talking about swimbaits, can someone show me some swimbaits that would work in shallow florida lakes? Links to BPS or cabellas would be great, so I can get an idea of what to look for Thanks!
