  1. that's basically what it comes down to between those two ....
  2. x2 !!! , those colors are hot Right?? Maybe I'll buy a couple just to see if their quality has improved. $5.50 a bait ain't too much to gamble !! you just never know :-?
  3. x2 !!! , those colors are hot
  4. i like rapalas dt blue gill pattern better and also this one http://www.***.com/Bandit_Flat_Maxx_Crankbaits/descpage-BFMC.html#pImage
  5. wouldn't a heavy duty pair of side cutters be sufficent ?? those things look like bolt cutters . how about these , alot cheaper .
  6. have any of you had problems with using braid on your clarus spinning rods ?? i know they are aluminum oxide guides , just don't recall hearing if they are good to go with braid . gonna try some 10 lb. Power Pro on my 6'6" clarus spinning rod (CSS66LA) . let me know , please
  7. maybe i'll just buy ONE pack and see how they are ;D ;D ;D
  8. they are only 7 bucks , just might be an excellent bait . i have tried almost all of the double hooked hollow-bodied frogs and was less than satisfied ( not the hook-ups , i know how to fish frogs) , never tried the deps Basirisky frog yet , could never justify the price . but this frog looks promising !!!
  9. don't think that is gonna cut it ..... :-/
  10. that is my favorite line !!! it is the only line i use for swimbaits unless it's gamma co-poly. for such a strong line it is very smooth and doesn't coil as bad as say CXX . i use it in 25 and 30 lb . for swimbaits , 8,10,and 12 lb. for my bait casters , 6lb for spinning . i switch of and on with CXX(p-line) on the spinning setup . but a word to others that throw big baits , this is THE line to use !!! i have had ZERO problems with it , and i only use an improved clinch knot !!!!
  11. where have you been ??? ;D only about 3-5 topic started on them , wake up !!! and don't be jacking my topic
  12. there was a post a few days ago about this same thing . http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1265751304 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1268597424 there are more , just do a search
  13. wonder how soft the body is , could be that it compresses easy . will definitly come thru the grass cleaner with the hook that way . i usually have much better hook up percentages with a single hook . hence why i prefer soft plastic frogs like canyon plastics 4.5" frogs but if there is good feedback on this frog i might give it a try !!!
  14. the episode i saw , he caught a 10+ lber. on a rayburn red dancin' eel
  15. wonder if they float , sink slowly , or sink like lead ;D
  16. anybody try these ???
  17. get a pier gaff hook , basically a 20/0 treble hook that is weighted , then attached to a rope . that way you can "gaff" what you catch and don't have to break your rod with a decent fish by hauling it up from below
  18. anybody try the frogs yet ?? for $2.00 a pack at walmart , might be worth while :-/
  19. you can use what ever you want between 6-25 lb. flouro , a uni-to-uni or an alberto knot will allow for different size diameters . i use 30 lb. braid alot and vary my co-poly or flouro lines between 10-20 lbs. and i use the uni-to-uni knot .
  20. check out the Okuma evx 7'6" flipping stick , thehttp://www.***.com/Okuma_EVX-A_Casting_Rods/descpage-OEVXCR.html one at the bottom
  21. they used to be , but Izorline spectra and Tuf line xp are just as good if not better . Tuf line is the documented strongest braid out on the market
  22. all you have to do is cast past the bed and then when it sinks enough , swim it into the bed , just as easy as that
  23. just go out and get a swimbait rod and a good reel and buy a couple of baits that won't intimidate you and go fish them !!! i throw swimbaits every time i fish , there are alot of days i get skunked on the big baits , but i do get good size fish on them , it is just up to you how much you get into it , me , i'm already there ... i pursue this lifestyle greatly !!! anyhow , you just have to do it , you can talk till your blue in the face about but you will never know till you try it. start with 6" hudds , matts hard-gill , tylures 6" kicker trouts , and maybe a 6" bbz . you can throw all of those on a flipping rod with 15-20 lb. line , so you don't have to invest that much right now , just stay away from crappy baits like castaic and reaction strike and you will be all right
  24. i have never taken a bass to eat nor will i ever , i will release all bass !!! i don't care if it is dying , gut hooked or whatever , cat fish will eat any fish that dies in the lakes i fish . if the bass is good size , i will taks a picture of it and then get it back in the water as soon as possible . around where i live they don't stock bass . they stock trout and catfish seasonally , so i take home trout (for my girlfriend) and an occasional catfish . if i'm fishing a lake with crappies , i take home any that are gut hooked ....
  25. not that i advocate it, but they are good bed fishing baits ....
