Yum crawbug?
i crawl it very slowly and pause , twitching it . i hop it slighly when it bumps into some thing like a rock or something . i think alot of people (including me !!!) work these things way too fast when they get in a hurry and are not really expecting a bite . if you toss it in a place you know has fish there , be confident and pay attention to the way you present it and fish will bite the crawbug !! the "crawdad" color is the only color i use (the crawbug and craw papi)

Flippin - line selection
i also use braid for flipping and punching , i use 30 lb. braid (also what i use for frogs) and fine that the braid does cut thru grass mats and line visibility is not affected at all . like has been said , flipping and punching is a fairly short line technique so i don't worry about "line bow" with braid while flipping plus i use fairly heavy weights (3/4,1,1.5 oz. weights) wich takes out the "bow" letting you get excellent sensitivity and great hook sets anyhow , as far as using mono , what i just desribed about braid is the oppisite with mono ( too much stretch , far less sensitivity , mushy hooksets ) but then again , if it works for you ....

frog reel
brands aside . you want to get a reel that has good line capacity , strong drag , and a fast rate of retrieve (preferrably a 7.1:1 gear ratio but a 6.4:1 gear ratio will work also ) . as for me , i use a Revo SX 7.1:1 reel using 30 lb. braid . any how , most decent reels with high speed gears will work , try to find one in your budget and have fun

Revo sx or BPS PQ
Agreed. I am a Revo fan, but as a first baitcaster, I think you have done well with the PQ, some found the old model SX's kinda tricky 8-) i learned on my SX and now i can cast any baitcaster !! too bad you didn't get the SX , one heck of a fine reel . can't wait to get some more money in my gear fund so i can get a couple more

Mattlures Baby Bass Swimbait
in my experience , baby bass stay in close to banks and in and around cover . i wold cast it out parallel to the bank and twitch it around cover with a slow retrieve . also if you can get it out over the tops of grass by the banks would be good for big fish to ambush from below . what sink rate did you get ???

Speed clips .!?
i use the magnum clips for big swimbaits and never had one fail . for crankbaits , i have been using BPS's fast-lock snaps with no problems , i use the size 3 in nickel http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_7816_100010005_100000000_100010000_100-10-5

Cabela's Prodigy rod question
they should be pretty good rods , Reaction Strike makes them , and before someone starts , i know their baits suck , but their muskie rods are really good , was gonna use one of their blanks for a swimbait rod (still might later on) but to get the blank , was gonna be a hassle i didn't want to take . anyhow , if your wondering about their rods , i would say they are legit ......

Fuj ACS B/C Reel Seat
they way i palm my reel makes me love these reel seats . all the rods i have made for me will have this reel seat ( except spinning rods !!) it is all about how you hold the reel is what determines if you will like this reel seat . the way i palm my reel is i only have my ring finger and pinkie on the reel seat and even tho i have thick fingers , they fit perfectly

2010 revo sx-hs
that is the reason that i want to get last years model SX . i am putting a handle from a Skeet Reese model on my SX , i also hate the short handles ( on all baitcasters , that is why i bought an Inshore also)

The Lizard
when i throw them on a carolina rig , i'm fishing deep . i fish them in 20-50 ft. of water . i use them in place of dropshotting deep water . i find i get more bites with the larger profile of the lizard then with a worm ...

The Lizard
that's how you learn new things , we all can learn new things , i know i want to

The Lizard
carolina rigged , the only time i throw them ...

st croix rods
if i were you and i wanted a rod out of the legend tourn. series for flipping and pitching , i would get the 7'3" heavy fast action (LTBC73XHF) , i like a heavy powered rod with a fast tip to get good hook sets when i flip and punch mats . those rods are light and plenty strong , you could pitch all day with out a sore shoulder the next day !!! even if you go to another rod brand , in my opinion , you would be better off with a heavy powered , fast action blank ........
