  1. for soft plastics to be fished off the bottom , i would use these , Owner ultraheads .
  2. are they a soft plastic "worm" bait shaped in a T ??? here are some tho you don't get a good look at them in the bag , but i think those are for wacky rigging , right ?? you put the hook thru one of the "appendages" and the bait falls horizontally with the hooked appendage would be pointing straight up towards the line , that's my interpertation of the bait :-?
  3. i think either 21" or 23" IPT will work fine for you , i am eventually gonna get a REVO Winch for my deep and med. deep diving crankbaits and that reel has an IPT of 22" . i recently switched from 12 lb. CXX to 10 lb. CXX and am now down to 8 lb. CXX for crankbaits ( and other things like worms and med. spinnerbaits ) and feel i get another 2-3 ft. deeper with out sacrificing line strength , CXX even in 8 lb. is VERY strong !!!
  4. p-line CXX in 15 lb. is a little over kill , you would be better off with 10 or 12 lb. CXX for your baitcaster , i started using 8 lb. CXX and like it alot . for my spinning set-up , i use 6 lb. CXX . as for invisx in 8 lb. , that is pretty light , maybe for dropshotting in open water , i would go up to at least 10 if not 12 lb. for crankbaits and would throw them on a baitcaster . hope this helped
  5. i totally agree with JFrancho and i will also say that to spool up a 2500 size spinning reel with 15 lb. CXX is ridiculous !!! spool it up with a hundred yards and then open the bail and 30 yards will jump off the spool in .3 seconds !!! like most everyone will tell you , 8 lb. is really the limit , i use 6 lb. CXX .......
  6. Gamma CoPoly (High Performance) 10lb Expensive and hard to find, but works great on spinning gear. Very few tangles and breaks about 17lb (if I remember correctly). the 10 lb. line has a breaking strength of 17.5 lbs. and the 12 lb. line has a breaking strength of 20 lbs.
  7. welcome aboard check these rods out , the best rods for the money , period...... (click on the link) http://www.***.com/Okuma_EVX-A_Casting_Rods/descpage-OEVXCR.html
  8. wonder if that reel was painted with automotive paint :-? i am really considering having one of my REVO's custom painted !!! any body know ?? anyhow , that is a sweet looking reel (the paint ) .........
  9. throwing big swimbaits with a REVO TORO , a super strong reel that feels solid as a tank and is able to hold ALOT of line (got it spooled with 25 lb. Izorline XXX) and am able to palm it . just an outstanding reel !!! can't wait to get a REVO TORO WINCH soon
  10. too funny ;D ;D ;D
  11. here are some rods that have the best components and best warranty in that price range and are only $90.00 !!! - http://www.***.com/Okuma_EVX-A_Casting_Rods/descpage-OEVXCR.html
  12. i am saying , why put crimp on weights on an Owner twistlock , just makes sense to just buy some beast weighted hooks
  13. good for baits 1/2 oz. and up , if you pratice alot , maybe 3/8 oz. , maybe ...
  14. don't meen to be mean , but all those reels are crap , if i were you i would try to get a good reel that has been slightly used , look in the flea market section and look for a revo s , shimano citica , or at least a quantum accurist , if not take a look at the BPS extreme's , alot of people say they are good reels for the money .
  15. that's not my experience at all , i had 30 lb. powerpro on that rod for over a year fishing it almost everyday during last summer and fall with no guide wear at all , i almost prefer them to ceramic rings cause they don't break and fall out when your guides get dinged against something , now you notice i said ALMOST ;D ;D
  16. if your looking for a strong fluorocarbon line , try Maxima fluorocarbon or Gamma edge fluorocarbon , 2 very strong lines , if you just want a really strong line use CXX .....
  17. just use the Owner beast hooks .........
  18. i didn't vote , but I'm probably gonna get one here soon and it is gonna be the TEC scale . right now i have the berkely 50 lb. digital and it is very inconsistent . this the one i have .
  19. i use Spectra lines ( i know they are supposedly classified the same as dyneema ) and really like Power pro , Izorline spectrex , and P-line spectra braid . they just hold up better and don't bleed color on to everything as some do . if you only want to have to purchase just one braid and want a very good one , get some power pro in 30 lb. and you should be good . if you plan on using it for heavy cover , try 50 lb. , for fishing water with some grass and wood structure , the 30 lb. braid should suffice . i actually use 30 lb. for frog fishing !!! hope this helped ....
  20. if your talking about the difference between CX and FLOROCLEAR , that is a good question ;D ;D ;D
  21. i guess i put my foot in my mouth by talking before i understood what i was talking about :-[ because now i want to have this done and have made plans to do so !!! so thank you Basman Mike for posting this on the forum , i appreciate it ....
  22. here is another http://www.aquasuperstore.com/products/Abu-Garcia-Vendetta-30-Ton-Graphite-7'3%22-Heavy-Casting-Rod~62915.html?CAWELAID=457170127one
  23. if you are using a 2500 size spinning reel , go with 6 or 8 lb. P-line CXX , i actually have 8 lb. CXX on my baitcaster , i use it for crankbaits , spinner baits , texas rigged worms , flukes and a few other things . you will be amazed by the srength of it , just change it out when it starts getting too much memory ( every 3-5 trips ) .
