  1. spend the $110 for this reel & free shipping . Lakeside reels are an excellent seller . http://cgi.ebay.com/Abu-Garcia-Revo-S-6-4-1-Baitcasting-Reel_W0QQitemZ290413876639QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item439e04159f btw, don't know if your looking for a leftie or right handed reel , if this is not the right one , check his ebay store and i'm pretty sure he has them , or just give him a call !!! here is his number (425)242-1714 , great guy (have done and will continue to do buisness with him !!)
  2. the 5.5" one is an awesome dropshot bait , i like to use it with a 2/0 Owner rig-n-hook EWG . that tail practically moves on it's own!! the 8" bait is fantastic texas rigged with those internal tube weights -http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_44436_100010003_100000000_100010000_100-10-3 and the rattling ones are good too -http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_44438_100010003_100000000_100010000_100-10-3
  3. i think moss green is pretty good in any water
  4. http://www.japantackle.com/ they sell handles from ZPI and BASSART . they go from 90 - 165 bucks
  5. the difference is that the Winch has a gear ratio of 5.4:1 , wich reels in 20.6" per turn of the handle , so giving you a slower retrieve , perfect for deep diving crankbaits . also with having such a low gear ratio , you get alot more torque wich translates into easier reeling in of those deep diving crankbaits .
  6. bought a Revo inshore from him a few months back , excellent guy to deal with , could actually talk to him on the phone , let me know exactly when the reel was coming ( sent it priority mail )(free shipping on my reel) when i decide to get another reel , it will be from him
  7. looks like a rebranded "code" -http://www.***.com/Quantum_Code_Casting_Reels/descpage-QCDR.html
  8. those rods are one and the same - "St.Croix legend tournament" :
  9. i have a SX , got to say i love it ! it is the 7.1:1 reel tho , but just the same , it is a very smooth , excellent casting reel . 6.4:1 is a very versatile gear ratio ( i have that gear ratio on my INSHORE) for a hundred bucks , i would definitely go for it
  10. if they would make a competitive reel , meaning a size 10 frame to start !!!! those reels feel akward as heck , very hard to palm .
  11. i have never had a problem with the uni-to-uni knot(for joining two lines) , that's all i use . that said , i have never had problems with knots , any knots . it seems to me that if you tie the knot proper and snug it down and it has been pre moistened , you won't have any knot failures . i use a improved clinch knot on braid(power Pro) , even brand new line and have never had a knot failure !!! so what i'm saying is , take your time and tie a good knot and you will be alright
  12. Seaguar makes Bass Pro Shops XPS flouro , not cabelas ..
  13. if you are talking about a Norman DD22 in blue back / chartruse , i catch quite a few fish on that bait even tho it looks nothing like any baitfish ;D
  14. uni-to-uni knot is the only knot i use for joining two lines
  15. instead of looking at the guide select from Okuma , get the EVX-A from okuma . that is the best rod out of all the ones you listed . this from ***- The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide anglers with the precision of a technique specific rod without the big price tag. Each rod's action and taper are adjusted to perfectly match their specific application, providing the angler with the best possible rod for their given fishing pursuit. The rod blanks are constructed from lightweight IM-8 graphite, which is roughly 45 million modulus for added responsiveness, increased power and reduced weight. Even strong enough to stand up to braided lines, the ALPS stainless steel Guide Frames with Zirchonium Inserts further ensure strength and durability are maintained. Firmly securing your casting reel, the Fuji ACS Trigger Reel Seat, paired with the split grip handle design, helps with weight reduction as well. Only premium cork is used for the grips, ensuring quality comfort and a classic appeal. The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide every angler with the affordable opportunity to own a quality technique-specific rod. Backed by Okuma's Limited Lifetime Warranty. and they are only $90.00
  16. did that to one of my swimbait rods , lucky the fan was going on a slow speed so it didn't break the rod , left a slight mark on it and thank god it hasn't weakened it at that spot
  17. i'll second that about the Pro Cure , i use the super gel in trout , it is actually made from ground up trout . it is a superb lube that stays on pretty good , in my opinion , the best stuff made in the scent / lube / fish attractant .....
  18. if you still fish with Carrot Stix , the 7' XH is an excellent double duty rod . it is a great frog rod with a 7.1:1 reel . it will also do great with jigs from 3/8 - 1 oz. , these rods got good backbone , was using it yesterday and caught 2 catfish on them in 40-50 ft. of water ( 1 was 4.5 lbs., the other a little over 5 lbs.) and it hauled them up easily
  19. a 2500 size spinning reel works just as good with 2 or 4 lb line . i spool my 2500's with 2-6 lb. line all the time since i also like to fish crappies( 6 lb.) blue gill(2-4 lb.)and trout (2-6 lb.) with the 2500 size you get more line options , 6-8 lb. line doesn't do so well on a 1000 size reel ........
  20. had a decent spinning combo go in the water , was fishing for spotted bay bass ( off a small pier , salt water ) and had my rod up against the railing with the line in the water when a big ole' pelican swooped down of the railing and hit the line and pulled it over the rail super fast and it sank even faster . i didn't even get mad , i just thought "oh well" ( you get to have that attitude from fishing big swimbaits that get cast off and they are the sinking models and once they go down in 20-50 ft. of water there aint a dang thing you can do but write off 35+ $$$ ) but then three hours later i was throwing a deep diving crank bait and snagged the line . i started pulling on the line expecting it to come up at any time but after about 100 yards of 8# CXX on a sedona 4000 , i realized that i had set my drag really low and all i was doing was pulling off line on my reel . i then thought why not use my baitcaster to pull it up !!! so i joined the lines with a uni-to-uni knot and reeled my spinning combo up just took it to the public bathroom and rinsed it off good now i only bring cheapy spinning combos that i am going to set against the pier railing !!!!
  21. that is the same one i posted a link to , plus it has another chart in there . thanks , that link was in a topic you posted awhile back , thought i couldn't find it , but checked again and found it
  22. what is it for ?? i have been using my Inshore and i'll tell you it is a sweet reel , it is made for inshore/ salt water fishing but it is built just like the stx but with centrifugal brakes (like the S , winch , skeet reese , toro ) i have two brakes set and just use the cast control for different weight baits . it has a ton of line capacity(12/175) , excellent if you are using 50 or 65 lb. braid , has the 24 lb. drag and even tho it only has 7 bearings , it feels just as smooth as my SX that has 11 . just wanted to throw this out there , give you another option . just don't think that this reel is just a saltwater reel , if no one told you , you wouldn't know http://www.tackletour.com/reviewabugarciarevoinshore.html
  23. i like rods out of the norm too , that's why i like to have mine custom made !! in choosing a blank , let's say it's 7'6'' , you can always have some taken off the butt end of it and make it a 7'3'' or even a 7'5'' and 3/4" . i guess if you really look at all the rod manufactures , they have a rod in almost every increment (inch) you can imagine , so to say something is "odd" doesn't seem to apply as far as rods 6'6" - 8'. anyhow , being different is for me is having what i exactly want instead of compromising with what is "the standard offering" ........
  24. good photoshop work on your avatar , that is standing on the handi-cap dock at dixon lake where i fish alot , and no , you did not catch dottie :
  25. check with the manufacturer of the blank . that measurement is always given as is the butt dia. or you can get a tiptop gauge http://www.acidrod.com/tools_measuring.html also , here is a chart
