  6. i'm gonna get the 35 lb. TEC scale , the berkly scale i have is the 50 lb. one ...
  7. deep crankbaits reeled super slow is what i do , also like to throw the 3/4 oz. red eye shad yo-yoing it up off the bottom .
  8. just a good shad color , i like that color on my lipless crankbaits
  9. throw what you usually use , small fish don't know they are small , they will hit regular size baits
  10. The Smooooth Drag washers are made out of carbon fiber and you coat them with a fine layer of star drag grease whereas if you disassemble a Abu Revo Skeet or Premier one of the drag washers is made out of some sort of plastic and both are bone dry. I dont have an SX, but do have one Skeet, 2 Premiers, 2 Toros, 2 STX's and a few Winch's and after upgrading one reel with the Smooooth Drags I did it to all of them so to answer your question, In my opinion, yes it will be smoother thanks
  11. i know you don't want hear this but i think you might make the move away from the extremes , just seem like they don't last :-/ you know you want to , just go ahead and do it already ;D ;D ;D
  12. i don't throw swimbaits 90% of the time to catch the dinks , we'll see what this year brings
  13. you weren't actually thinking of getting this thing were you j/k !!!
  14. it is the megaforce plus http://www.***.com/Daiwa_Megaforce_Plus_Casting_Reels/descpage-DMFP.html i wouldn't give 10 bucks for that thing ....
  15. i don't think you are , i demand to get good customer service from a company that i am giving my hard earned money to > if i don't get it , i no longer buy their products , no matter how good they are !! i hope everything works out for you :-/
  16. i like longer rods for cranking , 7'6"-7'11" (haven't used a 8'er yet ) and pretty much every technique for that matter . gonna have all the rods i get made be at least 7'6" , the only rod that i use regularly that is not that long is my 7' carrot stix . as for throwing crankbaits with a long rod , i like to make long casts and can really get the distance i'm after with the longer casting rods . as for topwater , i don't throw much except for frogs , and using the longer rods work great , i actually use my 2-6 oz. swimbait rod wich is 7'10" . as for jerkbaits , i only throw flukes , and also prefer the longer rods .
  17. Here ya go: http://tackletog.com/superttuning/2010/03/05/custom-r-tuned-pixy/ thank you !!! , looks like a job a good airbrush artist can do , got to start contacting some
  18. in your opinion , would it make the drag on a REVO SX smoother ????
  19. A little off topic...but...when buying line look at the actual diameters, as lb test ratings are all over the place. CXX is rated as one of the top lines in tensile strength -a great line -but it's 8lb is .012, akin to 12lb XL, and most 12lb FC's. Diameter is what affects depth and speed most. That 12lb CXX you were using, at 0.015 is akin to 17#XL, or many FCs. Just something to be aware of. thanks , i know that CXX is rated one size (lb.) below what it actually is , for example their 10 lb. is the same as others 12 lb. , but i do know that most mono and co-poly lines that are 10 lb. are .012 so it's not a big deal . i like using 8 lb. CXX cause it is like everyone elses 15 lb. line , but still has a 10 lb. line dia.
  20. where is the article , i want to know what kind of paint was used can you post a link please ?
  21. i actually don't have that rod , i was just going by the specs. for it . i use and recommend the shimano clarus 6'6'' lite fast action (CSS66LA). it is rated for 1/16-5/16 oz. lures , absolutely love this rod for finesse plastics and small jigs , i use it for drop shotting , crappie fishing with jigs , big bluegill , trout , and small weightless plastics . a very versatile rod that has an excellent tip for the small baits and good backbone for such a finesse rod . i got it spooled with 6 lb. CXX
  22. yeah they are a three way ringed worm , made to be wacky rigged . should produce , not many bass , i would think , have seen these ;D , good buy !
  23. seems that is what is designed for
  24. Bass Pro Shops extreme baitcaster in 5.4:1 gear ratio . $79.00 , can find them cheaper than that when they are on sale . i myself have never used one but alot of people on here really like them .
  25. He said CX, not CXX. That said, 15, 17 and 20 lb. CXX are acquired tastes. missed that : ,
