Laser Lure
That is incorrect. Their site states that what sets these apart from the other lighted lures is that it IS a laser beam and NOT an LED. As far as the pros saying they used the lure and got paid for it---that's what they call a sponsorship!! I have never used these and I am sceptical, but I do think the lure would catch fish without the laser in it, but the real question is whether or not the laser makes it better than a normal crank.

Charlie Moore TV
He may be the most annoying, but I still think the worst fishing show is Charlie Ingrams Fishing University.

SUNY Fredonia
I've been out of college for quite sometime now, but I think it's awesome that you're trying to get a team going. Is there a way you can post this on campus?? Maybe put something in the school and/or local paper.

Beat the Elites
There are lots of guys who do not have the resources to just up and take off on a cross country trip to fish the Opens to qualify for the Elite Series. Without finacial backing from sponsors, or being just straight up 'rich', its not feasible for the normal weekend guy. This tournament is their measuring stick. I think it's a cop-out to say they don't have the means or the time. Most of the pros didn't have it at first either but they sacrifice other things so they can chase the dream of becoming an Elite. I have friends fishing BASS Opens and Stren Series that aren't rich and don't have sponsors, but they sacrifice in order for the chance to make it. I think people use this excuse because they don't want to put their money where their mouth is. I don't have the means to be a NASCAR driver, but I'm not out there driving my car in the middle of a race!!!

Stocking a pre-existing pond
I've seen stocking and harvesting questions on here before. I would like to stress it's not that as easy as tossing in some prey or setting up a food station. Playing with a pond is much like the time travel movies---when you mess with one thing, it effects everything else. I would suggest you consult a biologist or a wildlife officer to point you in the right direction. If you add bluegill and feed them regularly, you could end up with a pond full of them, with a stunted bass population. Don't forget the more fish you add, the more oxygen is depleted and in small ponds this is effected a lot easier than in a big body of water. Don't forget also, that all of those bluegills take the eggs of the bass nest too. IMHO---pond management is not something to mess with when you don't know what you are doing. You can do more damage than good.

Ramp Rules
I can sum up this up into two rules: 1. USE COMMON SENSE 2. BE COURTEOUS I understand that people lack both common sense and common courtesy, but to me, if you go by those two rules, you shouldn't have any problems.

Would you buy a Chrysler?
Chrysler has a plant in our area that made the transmissions for them and of course, Dodge. They are closing the plant in June, so I no longer support them. I've owned three Jeep Cherokees in the past---now I have a Silverado that I wouldn't be without!!

Hard times hitting B.A.S.S Elite series tournaments.....
With the FLW guys going to BASS that were mentioned. Don't forget the big guns that moved, and stayed with FLW: Jay Yelas, Larry Nixon, George Cochran, Dion/Guido Hibdon, David Fritts. A lot of BASS guys fish the FLW Series to try to get into the FLW Championship. It's just another way for them to make a living. I don't think one circuit is better and I don't think the fisherman are better from one circuit to another. It's more about what's a better fit for them. I think a lot of people think of FLW pros as AAA because they don't have the coverage that BASS does, so they don't know the anglers as well.

where do you work?
I work in banking operations. My work is being offshored so they can save money by paying someone $2 an hour. My job is done in June---it can't be soon enough!!! My wife and I are moving to TN to get out of this tax trap, s-hole they call NY state!!

Lets Brag on Your State
New York State: Our Governor wants to add a "fat tax" on soda because it adds to the obesity problem. Then he wants to tax gym memberships. Why you ask---I don't know!!! He also wants to increase tax on beer, which could cause one the few remaining industries still remaining in our area (Budweiser) to move out of state. It has already been made public that we are going to lose the plant that makes parts for Chrysler products, which employed countless people, (also because of the taxes and costs for doing business in NY). Our Syracuse University football team has been a joke for the last 5+ years. Our AAA baseball team was just sold to the Washington Nationals by a person that is now suspected to be skimming money and giving bonuses to get South American players. You only have about 5 months of good fishing weather. Good things about NY: Our SU Basketball team is consistently in the mix and usually makes the NCAA tourney. When the weather is good, you can't beat the fishing or the scenary. The New York State Fair. Good chicken wings and pizza!!

Aluminite
On the show, he put his harness through the bait before the plastic hardened. The when the bait was done the harness was molded in to the bait.
-
BPS hook quality?
I agree, but is there anything you should really skimp on!!
-
Baby Brush Hog
Did you try Tackleunderground? Those guys usually have some good ideas.
-
Fishing Jerseys
As far as getting approval for the logo, do you just contact the company? Is it easy to get their approval? I wouldn't think this would be a problem, after all it's free advertising for them, but you never know.

Baby Brush Hog
Not sure if a two peice is needed for that lure. Del-Mart has the brush hog mold, but its one piece.

Opinions on a used Tracker boat?
I ran a Tracker for 3 years and it was a very nice boat. The only reason I got rid of it was because I upgraded to a fiberglass boat.
-
Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow
They're walleye killers here, but never caught a bass on 'em.
-
Ok I'm officially offended..
Yes we do. It is called "Northeast Bass Fishing." ;D We just catch consistant 5 pounders up here instead of catching 1-7 pounder a year followed by those 1's and 2's.
-
Laser Lure
On the vid Ike said he was using a black and blue one. The one in the pics looks like a Sexy Shad type sceme. Was this the same one he used the whole tourney?

The Buccaneers are headed back to the Suckaneers.
Not to rub salt in the wound, but they also don't have a QB or even a prospect for QB!! BTW---Go EAGLES!!!! We have our own issues

There is a rumor going around that trutungsten is going under
Didn't Tru-Tungsten merge with that hook company, Youvella?? I could be wrong about that, but maybe the closing down of TT stems from that.

Pet peave's that shouldn't be
LOL. I have been that guy!! In the winter (when I cannot just jump in the water to fix it), I have some kind of disability that I cannot get my jon on the trailer. Just does not cooperate. As much as it annoys you waiting, quadrouple that amount of frustration in being the guy being manhandled by a 14 ft jon. Insert foot in mouth!! ;D

Pet peave's that shouldn't be
When people prep their boats to launch while they're sitting in front, blocking the ramp. Or when they pull their boats out and start strapping it down and putting the transom saver on while blocking the ramp. > > > > > > > > > And...when they have a 10foot jon boat and it takes them a half hour to get it back on the trailor > > > > > I just have no patience around the ramp!!

my tournament jersey?? opinions please!!
I have a tourney shirt, which I do feel helps me fish better---before you laugh, let me explain. When I was in college I learned a study trick to always study in the same spot in the same chair, etc and do nothing else in this "study" area except study. So everytime I went to this area, I knew I was there only for the purpose of studying and that helped me get into that mindset. I use this same philosophy for fishing. I wear my tourney shirt only when I'm in a tournament. Once, I put that shirt on, I'm able to get into that tournament mentality and focus. As strange as it may sound, it really does get my mind "right" for tournament fishing.
