  1. Tragically Hip---Day for Night Love them Canucks :P
  2. I usually peg in heavy cover, but sometimes you can get bit, when that unpegged plastic gets hung up in the weeds. I never peg in sparse cover or open water.
  3. I grew up fishing the Oswego NY area, including Lake Ontario. Then spent 10 years fishing the rest of the Finger Lakes and Oneida lake. About a year ago I moved to the Chattanooga area. I don't think it's easier to catch them in either area. A couple differences down here is figuring out the ledge fishing bite and the lack of weeds in some lakes. I don't think it's harder or easier, just different.

Me too...only way you know they definately have not seen the lure before
  5. good idea...the holes in the mesh on this stuff isn't as fine as the jackets. The jacket mesh is thicker too, might work though :-?
  6. Heard on our local ESPN radio show yesterday that PETA contacted the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to stop their UTC college fishing team. The show had a director at UTC on the air to discuss it and he said without a doubt, they would not remove the fishing team. He went on to say how the students in the club acted under the rules of the national organization, worked with wildlife and fisheries folks, and were great ambassadors for the school. WAY TO GO UTC!!!!! Now if they could just get their football program going :'(!
  7. I second that----have them on all my rods. They are awesome!!!!!!!!!
  8. I've used a lot of monos, but kept coming back to Suffix. They have a Deep Crankin' line that is sweet for c'baits. Love their Flouro, but it's really hard to find in stores.
  9. A few of those "blue-black" pattern tourneys, most guys were throwing the Sebile Magic Swimmers and there aren't that many Sebile sponsored guys. Just a thought :D
  10. Kind of off topic but...I still don't know why they don't take the top 25 from the Classic and the top 25 from The Cup and have a tourney. Between BASS and FLW they should have enought sponsorship dollars to have a no entry fee "battle of the tours" and I think the fans would really get into it.
  11. I don't get the ranking of Mark Davis. He's done well, but I don't think he's worthy of the top 10.
  12. As far as the lake itself...the upper ends are pretty shallow and a little darker. The rest of the lake is deep and crystal clear.
  13. I'm originally from Syracuse so I've fished that lake a bunch. You can sometimes do good at the lower end of th "y" with flukes and stickbaits. I've done pretty good hitting the weeds and docks. Had some good numbers hitting top water in the morning too. The bigger fish are elusive, at least for me, but you can usually find some decent ones to pull your line tight!! Lots of toothy critters there too, so keep your Lucky Craft baits at home!!
  14. I have a guide friend up in Oswego NY that uses Okuma for everything from salmon to smallies. Puts 'em throught a beating every year and has never had a problem.
  15. Arent reel butter and oil. Stick Jackets---best thing for protecting your rods.
  16. Has anyone seen the new BPS commercial with Jamie McMurray and KVD in the Nitro. Pretty funny and cool to see a BPS commercial during primetime hours.
  17. I second that!!! I've caught a lot of fish walking those baits. I think the combination of the smaller size and the spittin' action drives them nuts. Great smallmouth lure too.
  18. How's the bite been down there. Any info on patterns??
  19. I would love to be in a "slump" like KVD. An AOY a year ago and a Classic win this year. Must be tough being him!! :D :D
  20. From what I remember....that thread was closed because some were saying that woman aren't as good as men at the fishing game. I don't care if you don't agree with the Classic qualifications, but putting them down is a different story. My last two cents...they didn't get in because they were women...they got in because the were the AOY for the WBT.
  21. It's been quite a while since I've been on here and I'm glad to see the woman's forum. I recall two years ago when the first woman was in the Classic and there were some "not so nice" comments about their place in the tournament. Happy to see that some minds have been changed!
  22. I totally agree. They all do have different actions, but it couldn't be said better...treat them as different baits and switch 'em up until they start hittin'!!
  23. On my unpainted tungsten weights, I have some build up or corrosion on them >--hard to explain. It does come off with a little scrubbing, but there are stains where the build up was. I've clean them and my storage box, but it returns after time. Any ideas what this might be or how to clean them so they stay clean??
  24. My "everyday" beer brand is Labatt Blue or Blue Light---Those Canucks can make some beer!!!! My favorite beer is Sam Adams Oktoberfest---it only comes out once a year, but it is DDDDDDlicious!
  25. I will be in the Chattanooga area at the end of June. Any tips for Chicamauga? Locations, baits---any info would be a great help.
