  1. I used to catch them all the time on rattlebaits when I fished Oneida Lake in Syracuse. Up there it seemed there were weed walleyes and deep, rock walleyes. People up there also long line troll with them and wack 'em good too. I've also caught walleyes on spinnerbaits in the shallow grass.
  2. They do come in different sizes. In addition to the other websites the others gave you, try staminainc.com. They have good prices and everything you're looking for.
  3. I'm changing the lower plastic head cover on my Maxxum because it cracked. Are there any surprises I should be aware of?? I know that I will have to disconnect some wires, but are there any other issues I should know about??
  4. He is 58th. He'll be lucky to make The Classic!
  5. Just looking for opinions on why Skeet's bombing this year. I can't believe after last year's performance that he's doing so bad. I guess this sport humbles all of us at times.
  6. I agree....I haven't found a "weedless" jig. When the weeds are thick, it's time for a Texas rig. A more fitting name is a brush guard.
  7. My wife thought I was cooking dinner the other night...but I was curing my powder painted jigheads!!!!
  8. My pet peeves mostly deal with getting to the lake!! I hate when you wait for someone so that you can pull out onto the street. Then they end up turning onto the same street I'm on, but didn't put their directional on. So I just waited for this jack**** and he ends up turning!!! Also when someone pulls out in front of you to the point where you have to slam on the brakes---then turns at the next block--you look in the rear view and there wasn't a car in sight and you wonder why he's in such a hurry that he couldn't wait for me to go by. When people don't move over on the highway to let you come off the on-ramp. When people in the passing lane go the same speed as the people in the "slow" lane. My final two peeves---Stupidity and lack of courtesy.

I saw that Ike signed a deal with Rapala. Those LaserLures must not have done the trick!!!
  10. One thing I would suggest...change your retrieve. When I'm in shallow water I don't fish it straight in like I do when I'm crankin' deep---I crank it down to get it going, then kind of pull or drag the bait. I can feel the bait better and stop it or rip it before it gets really burried in the weeds, bottom or whatever else I'm throwing into.
  11. I've been making my own plastics for about 3 years now. I love it. It gives you the freedom to make anything your imagination comes up with. I make my own POP molds, but am looking to get into making the resin molds. I buy plastisol rather than using old plastic because that way I can make the colors I want rather than having to use whatever color of old baits I have. Go to Bearsbaits or lurecraft to buy your stuff---They have all you need, plastisol, coloring, glitter, molds, etc. Also, register yourself on the website tackleunderground. It's a forum for all kinds of lure making, including plastics, and the people on there are extremely knowledgable. I will warn you....this can get addictive and very expensive!!! Once you realize all the options you have, you'll want to buy it all. Think about it...how much tackle do have...you'll end up with 5times as much crap to make the lures!!
  12. Maybe it's hard for them to find one that fits the 2002 model year. The ones you've seen most likely came with the boat, but now it may be that they can't find a trailor for that year. This is just a guess of course.
  13. I always hook up before the boat comes out of the water. I do know from my Ranger owner friends that you can pull a Ranger out without the strap. I think it has to do with the design of the trailor. If I'm not mistaken the Brauers run Rangers.
  14. I don't know of many bass fisherman that don't power load their boats on the trailors. Not sure of the effects of this, but I've seen some ramps in bad shape that didn't have anything to do with power loading.
  15. Thanks...
  16. I don't mind the ads, but I think they do need to be reconfigured so they don't run into the posts. All sites have ads, but they don't get in the way, like i feel they do on here.
  17. You hit it on the head!! I'm a huge fan of the Bandit, but the 1minus will definately get 'em too.
  18. Check out lurecraft.com they have a lot of molds for that lure type. As far as how many lures in a pint, it all depends on what size fluke you end up pouring. It's hard to give an estimate without that info.

I've made a lot of lures and now have a nice "line" of lures that catch fish. The situation I have is that I want to sell them, but at the same time, I don't want anyone else to have them!! Do any of you other tackle makers have this dilemma??
  20. OK, so with all this reality crap on TV, when is versus or Outdoor Channel going to have a reality show where they try to find the next KVD. They can compete for entry fees into the Everstarts or something. If they see this and make the show, will I get royalties?? ;D ;D
  21. It's not overkill. I've fished with an ounce at Guntersville last year and still couldn't get it through some of that stuff. It really is necessary in the thick stuff, anything lighter and your lure won't break the surface.
  22. I use one. I've had mine for about 4 years. I like it a lot. For the volume I do it's perfect. The one thing I don't like is that it is hard stir the plastic because of the way the spout is designed. The rod that is used to cover the whole goes through the middle of the pot, but I've found that a long handled iced tea spoon that I "borrowed" from a restaurant works great. I haven't had the trouble the other guy had with cleaning it. I just remove the handle and spout, clean it, and put it back together. The prestos are good because you can pour higher volumes and there is an electric stirring device that you can buy too. It continuously stirs the plastic. I haven't gotten into the injection stuff yet.
  23. I love the concept, but my concern is if this design makes it hard to get a solid hookset. Thanks for the posts on them so far. I guess it's like everything else....some like 'em and some don't.
  24. Saw a commercial for rotating treble hooks made by Spintech. I think it's a great idea. Has anyone tried them yet??
  25. Don't know if it was a repeat this past weekend, but a cool show. They did a day on the lake with three different people on the same day. It was interesting to see how each of the three approached the water and conditions. I usually don't watch the show, but this one was peaked my interest.
