  1. 1. Pheonix Boats 2. Yamaha 3. Sunline 4. Lucky Craft 5. Daiwa---free STEEZ!! 6. Bandit 7. Pradco--then you could get everything--Bomber, Yum, Booyah etc.!!
  2. I didn't mean that they got them from someone else. It's the fact that they don't have there own to fall back on. They will have to start from scratch during practice. It will be true-ER test of their fish finding abilities. On a side note---I don't think they've gotten were they are by taking others waypoints, but I do know a lot of them ask for help from guides and locals they know, and I'm sure some of them "borrow" waypoints. This format lessens the chance that they will have outside help.
  3. The one thing I like is that they don't know where they're fishing until just before the tourney...and they use an MLF boat with no waypoints to help them out. I think it may show who the TRUE fisherman are.
  4. The other site posted what he's doing. New trail....sounds interesting!!
  5. On another website they were stating he had new professional fishing venture that is supposed to be released today. Does anyone have the scoop?? is it a new trail??
  6. Anyone used this yet....any opinions or reviews??
  7. I think you're misinterpreting what I meant by "replacing" your hard baits. They weren't saying to get new baits and throw out the old. They were saying when you do get new baits get rid of the old ones, don't hang on to them because you most likely won't use the old when you have a shiny new LC sitting in your box.
  8. She seems to be the KVD of the women's trail. She's always winning!!
  9. I agree in theory. They are speaking, of course, as pros who receive new models from all their sponsors. They were just saying that they don't keep the old models because it eliminates the need for them to carry and sift through all that "old" stuff during each tournament. They were saying how much time it takes to load all this stuff in their boat and trucks before they head out for a tourney. Of course, they were also pleased with the additional space they had too.
  10. There was a great article in the most recent issue of FLW where a couple of the pros talked about scaling down your tackle. Examples are cutting down on plastics by keeping just a few colors and by not "duplicating" styles of plastics. Also, they talke about repalcing the "old" hardbaits with new ones, instead of holding on to ever bait you ever bought. With the price of cranks these days, the latter is a bit more difficult for us, but the theory is still a good idea. I did this same thing about 2 years ago, and I think it's really helped me. I stick to about 5 colors in every style of plastic and I stay with specific brands of cranks in the various diving depths.
  11. I like that they got in and I liked that the woman got it. I think both were/are good for the growth of the sport. The woman played by the rules and a lot of you thought they weren't deserving of the spot. Im merely wondering why there wasn't has much "uproar" over the college kids getting in. I do believe this forum is a platform to express your opinions and that's what I did. I didn't disrespect any of the anglers, I was simply asking why the double standard..so why should the thread be closed.
  12. I seem to recall some small controversy (can you sense the sarcasm!) over a woman getting into the Classic via fishing through the women's trail. How does everyone feel about a college kid getting into the tourney?? One big argument was that the women didn't have to face the strong competition to get into it, like the federation members, Open fisherman, etc had to. The college kids faced a small competition base then had a two man fish-off to get in. Any thoughts....let the fun begin.
  13. Like the post above. The spines can break off and stay in your finger. A guy in our club had that happen...and it became a nasty infection. It was so deep that they had to x-ray to see the spine in his hand. See a doc and have them check it out.
  14. Saw on another site that they were reaching for a seat that was rolling around and when they looked up, they were heading for the bridge. Be careful out there....kinda like talking on the phone and driving. It's no joke, you need to pay attention 100% of the time.
  15. I don't think your situation had anything to do with the price of your cranks. Bandits and Lil' Jon cranks are VERY different baits. The fish liked the action of the LJ over your Bandit. I have caught tons of fish on Bandits, they're one of my favorite brands.
  16. Never had that happen. I have them tied on, sitting on the deck all day and nothing like that has happened. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they were jammed too tight in your storage box. Very Strange!!
  17. I'm not a believer in a "magic" color or baits. You put the right lure, in the right color, in the right place, fished it the right way and caught fish.
  18. Sufix deep crankin' or Flouro 10#
  19. How often do you replace and/or repack your trailor wheel bearings.
  20. OK....nobody's asking the question...How does one hit a bridge, the bridge from the pic looks pretty easy to see!!
  21. Can't a guy just repair his plastics if he wants. Why are you guys jumping on him for it----jeeesh!!

I was thinking about my own question...I think it may be that we all relate to him, and the other Elite anglers. Unlike other sports, we are all part of the sport and most of compete just like he does (obviously not on the Elite level). Much different than a football player, racecar driver etc. I think our intimate understanding of the sport may have a lot to do with it too...and I do agree that it has to do with his personality too. Again, a way our sport is different. I don't know of any "civilian" that has sat down with Tom Brady and was able to ask him questions face to face. With the Elite events I've been to...I've had some nice chats with Ike and Mark Menendez and a couple others. That's what makes our sport unique and brings us back to the the relateability we have with the anglers. Thanks for all the opinions.....keep 'em coming.

I was looking on the Bassmaster webpage and they were stating KVD's accomplishments. They are mind blowing!!!! The one that stuck out was that since 2009 no fisherman besides KVD has won the Classic or AOY. That is stupid!!!! Also, he could win his 4th AOY in a row....even more stupid!!! A question that comes to mind though...why in other sports when the same person wins everything they are usually villainized. Jimmy Johnson for example, everyone says how boring racing is because he's won for the past five years. Patriots, Yankees etc...all dominators of their sports that a lot of people can't stand. So, why in fishing do the fans not feel like this towards KVD? Just curious and looking for opinions!!
  24. I like throwing big tubes either weightless or with 1/16 weight and dragging it over the top of the grass. Also a big grub or big worm weighless, drag it over the weeds and drop into holes.
  25. 1. Larry Nixon Larry Dahlberg Ike Spend the day with L.Nixon. See how he disects the water and conditions. He has been so successful and my original fishing hero. It would be amazing to watch him work.
