Winter is here and I was thinking about trying to build a "nice" but "cheap" 6'6" M/H casting. Just a easy to follow list so I don't spend my $ on things I don't really need. Do the words nice and cheap go together?

I know this could get out of hand, but here goes. My buddy, you know the one that over exaggerates all his fishing stories talks about taking us to catch a double digit bass, so I say; "what farm pond are we going to sneak in on, and whats the odds of getting shot?" His reply is, "no farm pond and I'll let you guys know when the time is right." So, we are hanging out one night months later and the double digit bass talk comes up again. The next day, August 5th we launch the boat in triple digit temps, blue sky's, and no wind at all, and it's about 12:30 in the afternoon. After ten minutes of idling around in open water "this is the spot" comes out of his mouth. Less than an hour later we have "boated" three 8# fish, lost 2 that I would guess to be 10# plus and countless fish over 6# Now I know that's nothing like what can happen on some say some private, guided, bought like cattle fishing trip. I mean three dirt broke country boys, public water, middle of the day, summer in Oklahoma. I'm smiling now just thinking about it.

Structure not cover. Structure holds fish 365. "PRIME REAL ESTATE" That one spot you can almost, and I said "almost" always catch fish on. I would rather make a rock pile than sink brush for someone to see me fishing it roll over it with their graph, fish it to death, move it, mark it on gps, etc.

That would be nice but, here is the story in short. Friends ex buys it for him, it breaks, twice, dont ask I dont know. He says #*^@ this thing and gives it to me. I just dont know about the epoxy issue I bet your right eyes only.

Is it possible to salvage the handles, reel seat, and guides off a broke G-Loomis that I have then buy a new blank and try my hand at building myself a rod? I have all the tools to do it my buddy bought a bunch of stuff from ????? Lots of info on building a rod but I have seen no info on what I have in mind.

This was a, had to deal, my two main reels went south on me after 11 years of service and I have a tourn. this weekend so I "NEEDED" them if you know what I mean. "NEEDED THEM"
