  1. Yet another great interview. Loved the duck story. If had an opportunity to fish with any Elite angler Shaw would be my pick.
  2. Threw it for an hour at sunset tonight and nailed three more fish. The water clarity in my lake cleared significantly from last week and the fish were a little more active with the coming full moon. I am starting to believe in this lure. Strong suggest swap out hooks.
  3. I have a coil of 50 lb test mono, I clip the line at an angle and punch it through the plastic and hook eye.
  4. I got the shallow diver and popper in mail today. Threw the shallow diver for an hour around sunset and only nailed one fish on it. Not a huge fan on it yet, guessing one of my rc 1.5's might have outfished it today. The bill and hooks appear a little cheap to me. Time will tell....
  5. My favorite was made by Horizon spinnerbaits, then Terminator bought out the company and bye bye favorite :'( Terminator then made a similar model but it just isn't as effective as the stainless wire for me. I really think the stainless wire put out some great vibes.
  6. Wow, great interview. Seems to put Mike in a different light compared to much of the ESPN coverage. I was happy to see Skeet win the BMC but am now rooting for Mike to take Angler of the Year.

California- this fish is for you !!! Exciting finish, too bad ESPN did not place enough value on this to make it live.
  8. This is a private lake not subject to DFG regs (not defined as public waters )
  9. It took about fifteen minutes to get her in, made multiple sizzling long runs, every time I got her close she burned right out. Took at least ten minutes to get color. As for the fly box, I only tie the simple patterns for now. The dragon flies are a blast in the late summer, many bass will even smash them midair while the loop has just turned over.
  10. I had to post this for fivepoundbluegill, yet another carp repatriated from my bass lake ! This one went 26 lbs , caught it on 4 lb (p-line evolution) test. Size 8 hook, flylined corn, Quantum pti 10, Daiwa ultralight. Caught 2/14/09 :-* http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/pzoch/?action=view&current=valentinefish.jpg http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/pzoch/?action=view&current=valentinecarp017.jpg
  11. I can't imagine cutting off a prong. I hate missing fish and have noticed a noticeable difference with even a prong bent wrong. I agree you have got to throw in the thick stuff, but that is what a plug knocker is for- I estimate I get over 95% of my snagged cranks back with it.
  12. I think your first cat looks like it is laughing ;D He was probably surprised he was taken on the carp bait. Nice fish
  13. Dottie is not dead, Jed and the boys just had a little fun with a Sharpie and a floater. I just saw Elvis fishing for her just last week.
  14. The baitmonkey in my closet has gone into a serious 18 month coma. Thanks Governator :'(
  15. bloop-blop-bloop-blop-bloop-blop-bloop-blop-bloop-blop-BLAM !!!! I love this at night. Had them blast it a foot away from my rod tip. Hooks do suck, I always replace with triple grips. A lot of these fish come right on the bank.
  16. Some of the best underwater footage since Glen Lau's "Bigmouth"
  17. The flying lure was the bomb on nesting fish.
  18. I have busted the lips on a few Lucky Craft RC 1.5's.... >
  19. Cultiva Minnow RM-65 golden shiner
  20. Banging a crank on cover definitely will catch a lot of fish, but if cover is tough to bounce consider throwing a few "bumps" in the retrieve. Often this change in direction is the trigger for the bite.
  21. A Kistler LTA flippin stick and a nice CHARGERS hat. (Sorry Quinn, Broncos going down)
  22. Or remember Fish Fishburne ? Dude was a crack up. Miss his show as well.
  23. I have had two great experiences with Cabelas's. The first one was I had a fly rod "apparently" delivered to my door by USPS, the mail man swore he left it there but I never got it. I called Cabela's to see if it was insured and they stated no problem, we'll send you a new one. Was expecting a load of claim forms and denials from post office but never had to deal with it. Second I got a fly box in which the doors didn't close properly, asked if I could send it back. Very friendly lady just said don't worry about it, well send you a new one. I have never dealt with customer service folks so friendly. Sadly I think some folks might take advantage of their policies though.
  24. I did get an email about the new Marshall program with the Elite series. If I lived near the tournaments I would be trying that for sure. Unfortunately it appears B.A.S.S. will be leaving CA off the tour again....I guess Clear Lake had too many hogs to film >
