  1. Show has run it's course, it's no longer interesting. So many of the reality shows are getting boring, I'd rather see re runs of Ed Sullivan, love Senor Wences.
  2. There is only 1 fantasy that I want to come true, catching a tailwalker (sailfish) off the beach on fly or light spinning. Yes it has been done, but extremely rare.
  3. For the last 3 months all my freshwater rods have been sitting idle in favor of a saltwater inshore 7' med 8/17 rod that has been my bass mainstay, I can do anything with this rod.
  4. As long as I'm enjoying my time fishing it really doesn't matter.
  5. I've got better things to do with my time than changing hooks when it isn't needed.
  6. Looks like a Honda Civic ( look at the wheels), nasty accident, hope she is doing ok.
  7. Looks like a Honda Civic ( look at the wheels)
  8. If you are looking to be economical use fewer set-ups, less line would be required and you will probably catch as many fish. Now I know that isn't the way you will go, but if it were me I'd using nothing but braid with backing, much less line will be needed, my freshwater braid hasn't been changed in 2 years, for me mono is ancient history.
  9. I would just replace the lure, pretty reasonably priced if my mind serves me correct.
  10. I didn't see much difference in the speed, chrome is faster than both, but the web pages were sharper and easier to read on firefox 2........I did play with the resolution and adjusted my text size. I think much of it has to do with one's own personal computer and not the browser itself.
  11. Google chrome has the tabs and it's nice feature but I don't live by it and seldom use it. After using firefox 4 for a few days I went back to firefox 2, the performance was better.
  12. What restaurant? Nice looking dinner and happy anniversary.
  13. I'm equally as accurate with spinning and b/c, spinning is more comfortable for me as I like the way reel sits on the bottom of the rod, no twisting of the rod with a bigger fish on. Accuracy is only over rated if you do not not need to put the bait in the right location, example free lining or drifting with live bait or as I was doing yesterday deep water butterfly jigging. Time and place for both outfits, for me b/c gear is not even a remote possibility for any inshore or freshwater species.
  14. Rod and or line, but as a rod manufacture once told me when I had a similar complaint that my graphite rods had less distance than composite ones, "how far do you really need to throw it anyway"..........he was right.
  15. If it were my only spinning reel I'd get the 30 so I could fish for other species as well with it, the 30 isn't a big reel anyway.
  16. I check a few reports before heading out for reference , I'm going offshore this morning with a buddy, hope to have a nice outing, giving a new rod the acid test.
  17. I use spinning almost exclusively and this year have caught everything from bluegill to sailfish. Have yet to catch anything noteworthy on my Avet, I understand Avet is coming out with a line of spinning reels this year.
  18. Generally speaking the more advanced fisherman uses a better, more sensitive rod, but imo those are the anglers that need it less, they know how to recognize bites. A less experienced fisherman in my mind who is serious about fishing should obtain a good midrange priced rod and reel. There is a lot to be said about fatigue using heavier cheaper gear, oldtimers like myself remember fishing all day long with heavy clumsy gear and never getting tired, but light is nice.
  19. Only addressing the issue relating to how I fish. The vast majority of time I do not need super sensitive stick as I'm casting and the strikes are significant, however I do prefer a rod rather than a broom stick. I won't get into brands but with that said I do not break the bank, for me I see no reason to. Not that this is the first time I've done this, as I speak I have purchased 3 rods for some offshore use from $50-$150, so far the $ 50 rod has gained favor over the other 2, in a few days I 'll make my final decision and the return the others, a good idea to leave the cellophane wrap on the handles.
  20. I'm getting used to it but I really don't care for it.
  21. I own 6 redbones, 4 inshore salt, 1 offshore boat rod and a light I use for pond bass fishing. Even retail of $90 they are super rods.
  22. Means we have to go fishing now
  23. Have no idea of how to add friends and what does reputation mean?
  24. In inshore saltwater & intracoastal the snook & tarpon are starting to show up, pompano and jacks on the beach or piers. Offshore cobia, amberjack & kngfish are hot, some sailfish still around.
