  1. Dang ! I was looking at these posts and checking some specs on my Symetre 2500. Said in my prior post I paid $ 59 for ea . on sale. Just realized I paid $69 for ea marked down from $ 79. Id still by em again and rate them on my good/value list. lol. Now all of you who paid $70 or $80 wont feel so bad when i mispook at $59. ;D
  2. Have two shimano spirex 1000 series that are smooth and great for trout. Both have served me well. Went with two Shimano Symetre 2500RE on M/L Avid and M/L Powell. Symetres feel just a little bit more smoother and picked them up at Cabelas on sale $59. I agree some reels of the same model in the store feel different than others. Maybe after a little use they all break in about the same . Dont know. 8-)
  3. Experiment more with cranks. Experiment more with different line types for different applications. Stay calm when my Bro walks over my bass rod
  4. Cabelas opened up here in Phoenix couple years ago. My experience with them has been great. Worked closely with me on my boat purchase both on and off the water. Im in the store alot and great friendly people. I also like to support some of the local smaller guys like Fisherman Choice. I pickup super tips thru them on techniques and whats working on the lakes. These guys spend a lot of time with you and really seem interested in steering you in the right direction. 8-)
  5. Great post. I have MBR782C Gloomis cast 6'6' med/fast rated 8 to 14 # 1/4 to 5/8 lure wt. Roadwarrior mentioned 90 % of fishing could probably be done with a 6 1/2 to 7' M/F rod. Question for crankbait fishing shallow and mid depth cranks how effective is the fast action rating as vs the moderate fast or medium action rating. Would a 7' M/M or 7' M/Moderate fast be more in order for cast distance/lure action and effectiveneess. Posts I read mention the medium action to keep from yanking trebles and losing fish. I have been using my Gloomis more for small/med r traps but not lipped cranks. Also since my Loomis is fast action would setting the drag a little lighter be something to consider. This is my first post new to this forum really enjoy it and txs for any input.
