  1. I see no reason to change the VMC hooks on either of these lures. The VMC's are strong and sharp- no question but Gamakatsu stingers seem to set better or it could just be a confidence thing...
  2. A good knot for mono to braid connections is tie a Uni with the mono on the braid then you corkscrew the braid up the mono 15 times while keeping your finger in the loop made with the first turn of the braid over the mono. Corkscrew the braid down again over the mono and braid 10X and slip tag end through the loop you kept open. Wet and tighten. Holds 100%.
  3. Xraps and Pointers seem to fill in all the blanks in the jerkbait department for me. All you need to do is a hook change and add water...
  4. Never had a problem with keeping braid on my freshwater reel spool for looong period of time. Of course with saltwater it's a different story...
  5. There's a local store here that still has those Fat Raps swimming on their shelves...
  6. Hello there, I'm Bong from the Philippines. Although we're halfway around the world from you guys we too have LMB's here. So far they're concentrated on three big man-made impoundments but they're spreading everyday... I do a lot of inshore fishing (salt) since i'm closer to the sea than to the LMB lakes but ever so often, we make the drive over to catch bass. The bass here range from 2 pounds up with 8+ pound bass getting quite common on the northern lake. Hope to share what we know here and I know I'll learn a lot from you guys!!!
