  1. tackle warehouse still has the tail slapper.
  2. I've never seen a pike minnow before.
  3. For me it is chain pickerel. They are often disliked by bass anglers, but i find them to be fun to catch. Especially the larger ones. Last week I caught my personal best it was 30" and thick. The down side is they can break you off, or ruin a lure.
  4. I second that. Google maps is a great place to start, you will probably be surprised to see how much is out there. Find some spots that look promising and take a ride to look at them. Also, search and ask questions in the southeast forum. Someone may have posted about a spot close to you.
  5. i don't have any experience with them, but with the 15% off sale, now would be a good time to check them out
  6. thank you! I just sent my order. Been hearing so many good things about your jigs, now i will try them out for myself.
  7. i have caught a fishing rod, seagull, umbrella, other lures, I'm sure there are others I can't think of right now. the craziest thing i have ever seen was my buddy caught a large, black "toy". Use your imagination.

looks great, i just don't like having to carry more than one bag with me.
  9. What section of Ltown?
  10. i had this happen while striper fishing. We were live lining bunker when they started getting nervous and surfacing. This attracted a big herring gull, who swooped down and grabbed it. I yanked the rod to pull it from its mouth and actually took the bird to the water before it let go. luckily it wasn't hooked.
  11. i have a crate with several plano 3700 boxes with various hard baits, soft plastics and terminal tackle. I'm usually guilty of carrying much more that i need.
  12. i have been considering getting one of them, price is the only thing holding me back. Is that the deep or shallow box?
  13. it is a solvent. Butanone
  14. the doomsday website has them for 5.99 for a 6 pack. still pretty expensive , but better than$10
  15. yup Castiac hard head swimbait. I have a couple of the shad bodied ones.
  16. It is a tough question that isn't a one size fits all. For example, today I fished 3 different bodies of water and all 3 had different results and fished different patterns. First lake is a deep clear water lake with little shore cover, but lots of off shore structure. I had some success with the ned rig and drop shot. Caught a few smallies. Second lake is a small shallow lake with lots of algae. Had a tough time here, and decided to head to another spot. Third spot, a canal, was great. Caught about 25 bass and a few pickerel. Most of my bites came on a weightless texas rigged senko, and a Keitech crazy flapper texas rigged. Also threw a spinnerbait. was working laydowns, grass matts, and lilly pads.
  17. great on a swim jig
  18. I rig them weightless, backwards with a 5/0 EWG gammy hook.
  19. Down sizing your tackle is a good idea, but like some in here i don't follow that advice. I have multiple plano boxes in a crate and carry along about 5 rods. I could probably get away with just taking along the tackle that i carry when on foot.
  20. i love the zoom fat albert!
  21. i too like spot removers. I don't like the screw lock ones for Zman worms though. I find elaztech to hard to thread on to a screw lock head.
  22. I picked one up and really like it, and for $99 its a great deal. My only complaint is with the side plate, i find the design to be a pain.
  23. doesn't matter to me, the paint wears off leaving bare lead anyway.

a few years back DSG had them on clearance. while looking through the clearance bin, a DSG employee told me that if i buy multiple packs, he would give me a great deal. I asked him how much for the whole lot? I walked away with about 100 packs of trigger x for $20. I don't think i have ever fished any of them, gave most away, and still have a few packs laying around.
  25. I'm interested to find out how you like it. I'm considering buying the 4pro for my kayak, because i want to be able to set waypoints. The extra inch of screen size would be nice though. I've been going back and forth between the dragonflies and the lowrance hook units.
