I live in the Western part of the state but looking at a map you're somewhat(It's all relative) close to Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, Lake Gaston, and several small bodies of water. The Raleigh folks on the board can give you many more details.

One set-up I like a lot Is a Siebert Outdoors Zenith shakeyhead tipped with a R.I. Smallie Beaver. It's very versatile!

I mostly fish Zoom baits today but back In the day these were my favorites: 1. Rebel Ringworms 2. Bill Norman Snatrix 3. Yum Yum worms; A little history here. Doug Parker started Rable Rouser bait company and as an aside he poured these worms. He eventually sold out the plastic worm division to Yum bait company. They dropped one of the Yum's from yum yum and the rest Is history. For you Mann's guys and nostalgia:
