Selling All My Stuff
That is a good one - I recall reading somewhere (maybe here) that my biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my fishing stuff for what I told her I paid for it.

Arbogast Jitterbugs
The way I understand it, the thing about black at night is that the bass are under the water looking up. Black makes a better silohuete against the ambient light of the sky. Now, having said that - can any of us really predict bass behaviour? Throw your lure, see what happens.

Scent
I have always been somewhat skeptical of scents - until I tried GULP! for the first time and was amazed at the attracting qualities. But I quickly gave up on it because it was just too expensive to keep replacing the lure after every fish and sometimes after working through the grass. But recently I fished with a guy who was using Yum Dingers soaked in Kickin Bass. We were using the same Senko and he outfished me 3 to 1. Haven't tried it myself, but just wondered about this since the big 3 for this topic seem to be GULP!, MegaStrike and JJ's.

The Things You See At Boat Ramps...
Recently while comming in at the end of a fishing trip, there was a guy and his 20 something son trying to pull out. After several attempts the son finally managed to get the trailer in the water while Dad sat in the boat - there was a wind and Dad was having a hard time holding the boat up next to the dock - Son kept leaning out over the dock to hook the winch strap to the bow (apparently they did not know how to drive the boat up on the trailer) - when the boat drifted out too far, Dad took a rod and made a cast over the dock and Son grabbed the line and started pulling Dad and boat over to line up on the trailer - he then grabbed the rod and made a final pull - it was a two piced rod and came apart. Finally son waded into the water and walked the boat up on the trailer so that he could winch it down.

Thermacell Mosquito Repellant
There was a discussion about this several months ago - what I took from that is that it works great if you are sitting still, but if you are trolling down the lake you run out of the "fogged" ares. You might run a search to see more of that discussion.

Anyone Catch Red Eye Bass?
So how do you reckon one of them there critters got into a watershed lake in eastern Nebraska?

Anyone Catch Red Eye Bass?
I'm not exactly sure what a "Redeye" is, but about a year ago I posted about catching a bass that had red eyes that looked like "cracked cleary" marbles. I had the impression that the fish was blind. but now I wonder if it could have been one of these? Can you give me some more information on exactly what a "Redeye" is?

Should I Even Try Fishing...
"Should I go fishin?" - there's a chance you might not catch any if you do - it's for certain that you won't catch any if you don't. I say go for it.

Favorite Rigging Style (Carolina, Texas, Wacky Ect.)
I use 'em all - just depends on the conditions and what the fish are doing at the time. My "favorite" is what's working on that day.

Getting Annoyed With Bass Pro And Cabelas!
What Sam said about there being a "buyer" for each store is absolutely correct and they do listen to what the customers say. When the BPS store opened near here almost our entire club turned out for the grand opening. After about 10 minutes we realized that a certain lure that is popular in our club and in this area was not on the shelf. We went as a group to the Department Manager. He immediately looked up in the computer and found that BPS was no longer carrying this lure due to a disagreement with the manufacturer about the minimum order size for each store. We asked if we could contact the buyer and within about a month the item was on the shelf and is still there.

Fishing Forecast Via Weather.com
I used to always check the wind forcast before a fishing trip by going to the hour-by-hour option. A few weeks ago, the forcest for wind was between 4 & 8 MPH from sunrise to noon - at 4:00 AM, the wind was in the range of 25 to 30 mph and went up from there. You really can't depend on what's going to happen - that's like th old adage, "don't throw what they bit on yesterday - throw what they're biting on today".

Senkos In Murky Water
As much as I like to throw a Senko - in murky water, I think a lure like the LFT Ring Fry is a better option because of the ridges on the sides of the lure giving off some subtle vibrations that the fish can feel in their lateral lines. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Have You Ever Seen This On A Fishfinder?
I never use the fish ID - I don't want to know there are fish there and I can't catch 'em

Bass Pro Customer Service
But you've got to admit a lot of "big" businesses don't put customer service first - this may be what Josh is referring to. All of my experiences with BPS however have always been positive, especially the closer you get to Springfield, MO (the home office). There is another outdooor retailer with home offices in my state and I don't get nearly as good service from them.

Bass Pro Customer Service
"i agree with that but sadly there is no bps around my house so i can only order online where im not able to talk to customer" - joshholmes Oh contrair, I did all this over the telephone and via e-mail. It was actually easier dealing with them over the phone/e-mail than it was talking to a person at the BPS store.

Bass Pro Customer Service
Well, I gues that's one way of looking at. I see it as they were willing to go the extra mile for a valued customer, even though they didn't have to.

Bass Pro Customer Service
Last year, my wife boght me an oversized cot from Bass Pro for my birthday. During the winter one of the stretchers that goes on the end to keep the frame taught, broke. It was not a manufacturing problem, it was broken. Recently, I contacted Bass Pro to see about buying a replacement. I made it clear that it was my fault and wondered if they had one that had been returned or something so that I could purchase just the part I needed. After a couple of days of researching I was notified that I would be receiving a new cot. Fed Ex delivered it yesterday. They certainly went above and beyond in helping me out.

Owie!!!
About a year ago I was pulling into a fast food joint and there was this work van riding on my bumper and weaving back and forth. I pulled in and parked and notice the van go flying into a parking spot, locked up the breaks, and four guys jumped out leaving all the doors open. Apparently a wasp had gotten in the van and managed to take over. I laughed all through lunch. Don't know what they finally worked out.

The Color Purple
Junebug (which is really a variation of purple) is my all time goto bait, especially during summer. On a side note, I remember hearing a story about how worms came to be purple in the first place. The story goes that a guy had purchased some red worms to use in a tournament or for a fishing trip or something and put them in his tool box until he got off work. The blue chalk from his plumb bob spilled on to them and dyed them purple. Apprently he had a good trip and the rest is history. Is it true? Who knows. But it's a fun story.

The Little Green Fish...
I once had the discussion wth an avid golfer. I told him when you play golf the hole doesn't move and it is marked with a flag. Try hitting it when you can't see it and it moves all the time.

Baits For 5'6" Light Rod?
I personally like to use a short rod for topwater lures, like Pop-R's and Spooks - seems a little easier to put some action in the lure. JMHO

Bleeding Fish
There is a blood vessle in the mouth and if you happen to hook that they bleed like crazy, but are usually okay if released fairly soon.

Your "turning Point" Purchase
For me it was Power Pro line - my first fishing reel (when I was 10 years old) was a Mitchel round bait caster with nylon line already spooled on. I spent hours each day learning to cast without getting backlashed and finally got the hang of it. I then moved on to Zebco spincast tackle and spinning reels until I was grown. I then decided to go back to a bait caster because that was what all the Big Boys used. But I could never get the hang of casting with Monofilament and Flourocarbon line. I tried the early versions of Fireline and Spider Wire, but they didn't help. Then one day while in Wal-Mart, I noticed the Power Pro - "that looks familiar" - I put it on and found that my old form started comming back. And when I did experience a "professional overrun" it was easier to pick out without kinking the line and I was eventually able to add in the other types of line.
