  1. I own a Revo S and am pleased with it. It's a solid reel, well built, and the deal you found on it sounds great. However, IMO, at the Revo S normal price point, the Citica E is a better reel for the money. I'd check Ebay and flea market to see what kind of deal you could get on one.
  2. Thanks Frank, you answered the question that was really trying to get at, I just picked a horrible way to ask it also.....just to be clear.....I wasn't trying to bring the quality of TW into question. I've never had a problem with them, and their customer service is the best I've dealt with.
  3. idk.....maybe that they're not the most recent model. I guess leery was a poor choice of words.......I'm just surprised they can trim that much off the cost.
  4. Just wondering if anybody knows........how is tackle warehouse able to sell Kistler Helium LTA's for 199 when they're 270 everywhere else? I'm a loyal customer of TW, but 70 bucks off makes me kinda leery.
  5. It should work really well. That model of the Curado was made to throw larger baits. Plus it has a really deep spool, which will give ya a lot of line capacity.
  6. Let's hear some opinions on Kistler rods. I've been doing some research online, and so far it's been nothing but good. Any Kistler owners, past or present, want to throw their two cents in? As of now, I'm leaning toward a Argon TS
  7. Anyone tried one of the Okuma baitcasters like the VSystem? Just curious to see if they were of any quality. Also, anybody picked up one of their new C3 rods yet?.....any opinions on them? http://www.***.com/descpageRDCOKUMA-OC3CR.html Thanks, Trav
  8. The rubber stops are great, I believe the ones I've been using are made by True Tungsten. They do a great job of keeping the sinker down on the bait, and you can easily pull them up on the line if you need to adjust them. They're more expensive then toothpicks, but worth it. This is also a great way to peg them:
  9. Hey guys, Just ordered a couple of the Sexyspoons from TW, thought I'd try 'em out this summer for deep structure. Anyone have experience using these? If so.....any success with them? http://www.***.com/descpageSKPOONS-SKSXS.html
  10. You can't go wrong with either of them. IMO power pro is a little smoother and a little more quiet, so I use it a lot of the time. However, I use the Suffix on my flip'n stick, idk why, but I just really love the Suffix 65 lb. when flip'n and pitch'n
  11. Hey guys, Looking at a 6'6" carrot stix medium power, and moderate fast action. Would this be a functional setup for jerkbaits? Also, would the moderate fast tip still be alright on the hookset if I threw small soft plastics with it from time to time?
  12. Like the others have said, you can't beat the old monsters. plus, I'd rather not pay over 6 bucks for a pack of anacondas
  13. Hey guys, My local tackle shop had their complete selection of Lucky Craft at 50% off.......insane.... I know.....so I picked up several. One was the Flash Minnow 95 MR. On the box it says it runs at less than a foot, so i figured maybe it's used as a topwater stickbait. But it is also a suspending model, not a floater. So my question is, is this just an extremely shallow running jerkbait? Any explanation would be greatly appreciated!
  14. I've found that, given time, most braids will lose some color. Solution.....just re-color the last few feet of braid with a big sharpie marker. And yes, you want to put some mono backing onto the spool before the braid, you don't have to use too much. Just use a blood knot, or another similar knot to connect them.
  15. I personally love the E series. Out of the reels I own, they're my favs. I went and bought a zillion the other day because of the good things I had heard, took it home....cast it for awhile....and took it back the next day and exchanged it for a another curado. IMO they're a great deal for the quality you get.
  16. while we're on the subject of carrot stix......i was hoping you guys that own some could give me some advice. I'm looking at the 6'6" medium action, with moderate fast tip rated for lures 1/4- 5/8 oz. I'm planning on using it for senkos, weightless plastics (flukes), and small plugs. Do you think this would work, or would the moderate fast tip not be the right choice? Thanks
  17. looks may influence me a little, but not enough for me to sacrifice the performance of the intended setup......and in regard to the carrot stix / curado E combo you mentioned.......I think it might not look too bad. green and orange aren't bad together, and with the metallic flake in the curado, it can look a little gold-ish in the sunlight.
  18. Thanks for all your help guys......I'm now down to a Sol or the Shimano Scorpion 1000. Could anyone give me even more info on the Scorpion and maybe some good ideas on how to get one at a reasonable price?
  19. Hey guys, Looking to put a finesse baitcasting setup together. I'd love to get a Pixy, unfortunately I don't have the funds at the moment. Any ideas or suggestions on other reels? I'll probably be using it for throwing senkos, other weightless plastics, and small plugs.........I know I should just use a spinning reel, but honestly I don't think I can bring myself to do it :-[
