You guys like the 6 6 rod for texas rigging plastics. 783 Glx looks like it might be the right rod I need.

When and why do you change the standard settings?

Just bought a 7 6 crankin rod but what reel are you using. Cranking 15 to 25 feet. What gear ratio are you guys using? Guy at bass pro told me 5.4 to 1 or lower. This true.

Getting a KVD Quantum Elite Rods. 6 10 Med Hvy for spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater according to kvd. Gonna put a quantum KVD 6.3:1 baitcast reel on it. It says 12 lb test. First of all is this a good reel and what line would you use.

Are they any good? Thinking about asking for a spinnerbait or crankbait rod for christmas. Any thoughts?

Very curious if you guys are having the same issues. I know a very good fishing guy in my club. He says he uses Trilene Big Game mono for everything. so my buddy changed two of his rods over and he had backlashes like crazy. Line spooling off every cast. Why does mono spool off? What do you guys do for mono line and what baits ?

I value your guys advice. Fishing tomorrow at a lake jackson in Georgia. 85 degrees. Small lake at best and get very crowded. Anyway my bass tourney starts at 5 am and will have 1 hour to 1 15 in the dark. What are you guys throwing? I have seven rods and thinking of having most of them ready for topwater action. I read Marty Stone uses mono for all his crankbaits. Why would you use mono over fluoro? Fluoro would help it get deeper right. Would it be the knot strength or something.

Got my first ever bass tournament tomorrow and I am freakin jacked up about it. Should be a blast. My buddy is prefishing today with only 2 keepers and the biggest is 1.6. That wont cut it. Fishing a lake thats clear for most of the lake. What colors would you guys be throwing for the following? Popper Buzzbait Spinnerbait Would you try a rage shad or frog in the morning? I have never had to much success at the big lakes. Any help would be great.
