  1. I know that the Shimano Clarus rods are decent. Also, some of the Daiwa rods they make that they carry at your local sporting good stores are decent. But, you aren't gonna find a great rod for 50. Alot of good rods in the 100-200 range tohugh . I'd get the Clarus though. Shimano has great customer service.
  2. Yeah, I agree a black reel looks BA, but I like the curado more in green. They need to make a reel with a black body and some anodized colored parts. Now that would be sick!
  3. Thanks, this really helps learn all your knots. Now only if you could take this with you fishing!
  4. The Revo's are sick reels. I am a Revo nut myself. If you have the money, get the STX. If not, the SX is really nice also. TONS of drag, pretty light, good line capacity, and they both look clean. I have yet to have a problem with any of my Revos. Although I do know that Abu Garcia has pretty good customer service.
  5. I think it definetly helps. Instead of re tying. It depends on how thick the cover is that I am flipping/pitching. But I have been using a Powell 765, which is a MH, with tons of luck. I am gonna get a 766 though to make my flipping only rod. My 765 works great for dragging football heads, frogs, big senkos, any texas rigged plastic, and small swimbaits. Its a great all around rod.
  6. This is my 2nd favorite show. WGFS is first in my book though. Can't get enough of Zona.
  7. I have tried almost every hollow frog there is too try. Hands down, I like Snag Proofs Bobbys Perfect frog the most. I really liked the Reaction Innovations Swamp Donkey until the weights fell out of the five I bought. You just gotta super glue them in. But the Swamp Donkey walks easier than the Snag Proof since it is narrower. Find a frog you like and stick with it. Frogs are one of my favorite ways to fish. Remember, you GOTTA have the right setup. I like 65lb or more braid, 7'6" extra fast medium heavy or heavy rod, and to top it off a 7:1 reel. Right now I am using my Powell 765 with a Revo SC and 65lb Power Pro braid. Many say you don't need braid. You don't but I would never fish a frog without braid. Take my advice or leave it.
  8. Tell him he is gonna need one heck of a rod to chuck that thing, haha. World record, here he comes.
  9. I like the Curado in green better. I gotta get one just because it would match my truck! Now the Revo SX looks sexy in black. Something about those sharp edges. 8-)
