  1. Rod Strainer or Skinny Bear is what I like to use. I like hand tied jigs with living rubber rather than mass produced jigs.
  2. It got moved because you posted it in the Bass Fishing Forums. Last time I checked a Koi is not a Smallmouth, Largemouth, or Spotted bass.
  3. I don't he is over the top. It brings something new to the sport. Some of you older people might not like it, but I do. So what if the guy gets really excited and pumped when catching a bass. I would be that crazy too if 500,000 dollars was on the line and the fact you have to impress your sponsors in order to keep them. I rather watch Mike yell "Never give up" twenty times when catching a kicker, rather than some pro with no personality at all. It reminds me of the movie Happy Gilmore. Happy was a outrageous pro with some crazy ways. At first everybody was hating on him, but eventually people realized it was good TV, so the promoters liked him since he brought more viewers. 8-)
  4. Powell rods are my favorite. Great sensitivity, pretty light, guides are great, and they have a big selection of rods. Get one and don't look back.
  5. Whoever needs a how to video on dropshotting needs to sell all their gear and move onto a different sport. Take up golfing or something, haha. :
  6. The security guards are not game wardens.
  7. Tisk, Tisk, Tisk....illegal chumming.
  8. You can also try wrapping it in rod wrap.
  9. You got along way to go, but good progress. What kind of wood are you using? What are you using to carve it?
  10. This is Bass Resource not Carp Resource. ;D
  11. I already removed the silver from the eyes. But thanks everyone for the comments!
  12. Here is my first minor airbrush job. Still trying to learn the ropes. But, while trapped in my house all day, I gave new life to my BBZ-1 in flat rainbow. Very minor, but I was happy, as it was my first real time using a airbrush. I just added a little blue ( really hard to see in the photos), made the red more defined, continued the line in the joints, added a little red in places, and added silver flake all over the bait. Oh yeah, and who can forgot the bunghole I added, lol. As I said, I am still a noob, so be kind! I know its not a major repaint, but it was fun. The pics don't do justice though.
  13. Haha, I had a feeling it wasn't real. It doesn't have that color that CF has when in the sun.
  14. That is a really tough one. Zona or Ike? Both are my favorite hosts. Ikes one of my my favorite pros. But, I would have to say Zona wins me in this vote. But, Ike is great too!
  15. Is it even really CF? What is the point of having a CF prop. I don't see any advantages.
  16. I need to buy a rod suitable for ripping lipless cranks outta grass. What action do I want to look for? What line are you guys running when ripping? I really like my powells and would like to stay with them.
  17. Yeah dude, the seat riser works. The only thing is it makes it hard to kick( I am 6'1" too), and I am not sure if you can still row. When I put the seat riser on, I also put my trolling motor on. I always switch in between setups with my toon. I just want to make a dang standing deck though. I think that would be sick. Haven't used my toon that much since I got a 12 foot aluminum boat though.
  18. That bottom pic is a awesome shot! Looks like bass heaven.
  19. I wasn't planning on doing a shoot thru. When mounted on the trolling motor, will I get too much noise?
  20. I have a Eagle cuda 242 that I want to mount up into my aluminum boat. What is the best way to mount it? Can someone tell me more about setting sensitivity and grayline?
  21. Another thing that helps is when you set the hook, kick your self away from the fish and move your weight back. If that makes any sense. But it helps. Flippin from a toon may not be as good as it would be if you were in a boat, but its cool being able to go where boats can't go and you are right there in the fishes habitat.
  22. You'll be fine. I flip all the time from my pontoon and catch fish. I don't like short rods, so most of my rods are 7ft and over. It also helps when you put your feet on the foot rests and use that as leverage to set the hook. If you haven't yet, make a rod holder for your pontoon. It helps alot. You can either make or buy a standing deck though. I still want to make one for mine, but haven't gotten around too it. Get yourself either a MH or H rod, depending on how heavy of cover you are fishing. I'd recommend a 765 or 766 powell or dobyns (the new dobyns are top of the line). If you are on a budget, daiwa, shimano, bass pro shops, and quantum all make decent rods for a much lower price than a high quality stick. Although, I must say, its nice having the nicest rod you can afford. You'll enjoy the added sensitivity, lightness, and overall quality of the rods. Also, I bought a seat riser from walmart that works great. It gets you much higher for more leverage.
  23. I am wanting to deck out my 12 foot v hull aluminum boat. Here is what my plans are: How do I go about cutting the curve in the front deck? Will a jig saw work? How thick of plywood should I use? Whats the best sealant to use? Where can I find the cheapest carpet? Can I just remove the old paint and spray paint right on or does it need a special primer? Thanks guys!
  24. I have a problem with dropping my pliers in the water, thats why I got some x-tools pliers. They are junk. The blade has gotten so dull from cutting braid that it won't even cut mono or floro any more. The only good part is that they float. My favorite pliers so far are the rapalas I had. No slop in the handle, felt sturdy, never rusted, it could tune crankbaits, remove split rings and cut line like no tomorrow. I gotta attach a string to my pliers so I don't lose them anymore!
