  1. westmarine.com should have anything you may need for anything.
  2. Wee-Tot Pea-Pod (grandbaby names i use) The boat looks a lot like my Pelican(boat) and i use it more than the 'tracker. Great for farm ponds and small lakes and best of all, you don't need a boat launch!
  3. Cancun,Mexico Moon Palace (palaceresorts.com) Don't know about beach fishing , but my trip on a boat there only cost $100 and we caught 3 White Marlin and Dorado and Trigger Fish (which look NOTHING like the ones here). 5-star, all-inclusive is the only way to go. (did i mention that all the rooms have a jacuzzi.... 8-)?)
  4. Not yet a month has gone by and there's another NEW lake record at Calling Panther; 13-pounds 7-ounces!!!
  5. WOW......just ...wow....... 'priority', baby, that's what i'm talkin' about.......... EAT,SLEEP(wherever),FISH, yeah that's MY motto...... Sounds like me, many,many,many(pattern..?)years agoooo....
  6. VERY nice job!!!!!
  7. I only use wal-mart yellow-top batteries for all my vehicles and boat. I hate wal-mart, but it's the best deal i've found and the batteries are just plain durable, kinda like the old "die-hards" used to be....ok maybe not THAT good, but what else is anymore. The 3-year free-replacement has come in handy a few times on vehicle batteries. Wish they would offer the same for deep-cycle....i even use them in my floor-srcubber at work and it's used 7 days a week. But that's just my experiences.....
  8. Well, i have a '89 Nissan p/u (short-bed, z-24 engine) with 261,000 miles and i have pulled my 17' Tracker for years with it and no problems, except one. Calcutta said it best; know where the boat-ramp ends and how much does it drop-off. Having your trailer frame sitting on the ground at the lower end of a wet, steep boat launch is no fun, especially with a 4-banger. Other than that one-lesson-learned-the-hard-way, my little p/u pulled the tin-can pretty good. Make sure the tongue-weight is not over 100-lbs if you are using a ball on the bumper.
  9. Wow, cool tip; i didn't know BPS price matched. (duh, maybe i just didn't 'read' that particular page, maybe 'my' bad) Anyway, the clerk could/should have handled it A LOT better; i should know...i manage a retail grocery store and MY clerks know how BENT i get when they do something STUPID(i.e.:tick-off customers)!!!
  10. Now, this a funny thread. Does anybody on here TEXT message? I don't, can't, won't and never will, but that's just me. I have been on other forums, boards, etc., and see people texting in comments or questions, and, really have no clue what that garbage is. I guess i'm like a nuetured(?) dog; i just don't get it.... Is it just me.......
  11. LMB: 7 lbs Crappie: 2.5 lbs Catfish: 11 lbs White Marlin: 7 feet
  12. Tarpon on a fly Peacock Bass Sturgeon Blue Gill...over 5 pounds...lol
  13. Yes, there are a LOT of bass in MS...uh,i guess, unless in Starkville...lol. A lot depends on where you are and how far you are willing to drive. On the Southwest side; it's bass heaven. We have Lake Bill Waller, Lake Columbia, Percy Quinn, Lake Ohkissa,(which, by the way, is the FIRST Bill Dance Signature Lake ) Calling Panther(see my other post about the 'panther), Natchez State Park Lake.......ALL have nice bass;most,if not all of them have double digit fish..... There are quit a few on the Southeast side, including some private and pay-to-fish lakes, such as Dream Strike Lake( he has a website),Lake Perry, Mike Conner, Dry Creek Lake, Lake Ross Barnett....plus a little secret..Lake Eddins..if you know someone who owns a house there;i.e. "pass card"..there are fish there that could break the state record; just ask Paul Elias (BASS Classic Champion); he has a house on the lake ...... Sooooo, to answer your question...THERE'S NO PLACE BETTER to land that trophy bass than here in good 'ole Mississippi!!!
  14. 'Forgot to add..i, too was thinking of new cables, but the 'ole 'anode was a heck of a lot cheaper...... jmho
  15. I'm no boat repaiman, but when i had the transom on my 'tracker replaced, the steering was so bad that you almost could not turn it. Repairman replaced the "sacrifiacle anode" on the motor and it steered like new....! What the heck that had to do with the cable......, but it worked! jmho
  16. Welcome; i'm a newbie as well...... Myself, i get the biggest/strongest i can afford. Deep-cycle on trolling, standard on cranking side. Does it not have batteries in it now?
  17. As everyone has stated, both co. have great stuff, but you should choose what YOU like. Me, i hate foot controls, but, i grew up using hand controls. I have a foot control on my boat and am almost ready to give it away....lol. Ask yourself this; where am i going to spend the most time in the water? In my area, "kota would be the choice (LOTS'A STUMPS, TREES,LOGS), if you spend most of the time on open lakes/resor-"however-the heck-you-spell-it"vores, you may prefer steel... just my humble O'.....
  18. Went to the 'Panther today, and got skunked! Learned something new, though...... If you buy a annual "pass" to MS state park lakes, meaning no launch/fish fees, etc., IF YOU BRING SOMEONE WITH YOU to fish (unless children), THEY MUST PAY $5 PER PERSON. Funny, that wasn't mentioned when the "annual pass" was purchased; oh-yeah, the Game Warden said,"it's been changed"...!!?? No big deal, really, just thought some other MS fisherman with a pass, might want to know......
  19. Calling Panther has a new lake record!! 13-lb, 4-oz Caught on the day i joined this forum; guess i should have been fishing!!!! (feb.2,2009) If you go to Miss. website, mdwfp, it has photos; sorry i couldn't post link.
  20. Thanks to everyone!!!!
  21. Went to Ohkissa Sunday and NOTHING!! Tried top, bottom,middle......front coming in, thought (yeah, that's what happens when i think) they would be tearin' it up!! 'Prollay coulda' killed the bream from all we seen, but, noooo, we had to go for 'd bass.....
  22. We gonna try the Dream in the next couple months, but if a fisherman has not been to Ohkissa, you missin' out. 'Waller should be coming in this year for some good pot-bellies when the temp gets up. I think there are going to be some surprises out of Calling Panther soon; BIG fish there NOW!! Oh, by the way, Ohkissa has MONSTER bream...if anybodies interested....
  23. Hello to all..... I reside in the South-West portion of MS. Not too far from all the good-stuff; Ohkissa, Natchez State Park Lake, Calling Panther, Bill Waller, etc. Not the gung-ho, no-holds barred bass fisherman i was, say 20 years ago....but i think a come-back is coming soon!! The record WILL be broken!!
