  2. wow!i don't feel so bad.i got back from visiting a friend on the coosa river and the fish were mainly hitting off the bottom.i was losing 5 lures a day and thought i had to be the worst fisherman alive.(mainly cranks reg. and lipless)now i'm back in cal. and back to my 1 lure every other trip. fallen timber can really suck!
  3. funny i just caught a 3lb bass on my friends little sunfish pole on a zoom finesse on 2 lb test.it slammed it right when it hit the water so i didn't really have to set the hook.but what fun it is to catch them on a lite rod and line!
  4. what i like about the red eyes is when they start to peel it takes awhile before they look bad.when a trap peels it comes off by the second time i use it
  5. i have just started using rapalas again(i used them when i was young)other than the husky jerk, what rapalas work good as suspending jerkbaits?
  6. just got 6 yest. on coosa river in al. back home in cal. a couple times when summer nite fishing
  7. i have a number of types of spinners(boo-yah,strike king, war eagle etc.)i tried some of those today with no luck, then i put on these 1.00 spinners that wal-mart sells and BAM,5 fish in about 35 mins.not including the 4lb striper i caught with one.that's one cool thing about fish, they don't look at the sales tag!
  8. been visiting my friend on the coosa river the last week and a half and the fishing was fairly poor.she was getting discouraged but i told her when we get few 80 degree days in a row the fishing will def. pick up.well, we have the last few day and today i got 5 in about 30 min.(all the time i had)tom. we start early and i'm thinking 30(wishful thinking)i told my friend this is why i came for(and to see her too)good luck to everyone now that spring is here!
  9. my favorite poppers are zell pops and pop n image when on a lake or resv.,but river fishing you can't beat the skitter pop(small size)it just seems to be the right size those river bass want.i try the zell and image and they never work(at least for me) what is your fav. popper on rivers or streams?

  14. what's working right now for you? i a'm visiting a friend and started good last week with some caught on spinner, lipless and reg. cranks.this week was dead except for a few caught wacky worming slim sinkos(no fish over a pound)any advice would be great.

i think your from alabama? i'm visiting from cal. believe it or not i tear them up there in june on traps burning it.here,i have found running them slow off the bottom works good right now. i have lost a few lures because of timber here on the coosa, but worth it for the fish i've caught. any green or red is good.
  17. if your pond fishing go with the slim senkos.wacky style it.throw it out and let it sit for about 2 min. at a time and drag it about a foot or two, repeat all the way in.green pumkin with black flake works great.....just keep trying and they will come.
  18. poppers for me 1.heddon pop n image jr.(threadfin shad) 2.zell pop(white) 3.small skitter pop(when fishing a river)
  19. it's getting to that time of year, when topwater starts to pick up.what topwater lure do you thing the bass explode the best on? i hear frogs are really good but where i live they are barely used.i have to say for me it's a buzzbait.
  20. i really like shows where they explain what there doing. 1. bass pros 2. one more cast (his gomer pyle routine annoys me) 3.in fisherman
  21. well billme,it is tough here also on my river.my prob. is trying to fish fairly swift water with alot of heavy branches and other junk on the bottom, and thats where the fish are.for every fish i catch i give up a lure.so happy when the weather warms up and i can run my lures at med. depth.
  22. i'm visiting a friend and will be spending a few hours on lay lake so we won't have alot of time searching areas.my ? is where are the best areas on the lake for grass and weedbeds?my friend want's to throw out lipless cranks and i said grassy area's are best.any advice would be great!
