  1. I fish small bodies of water...a little bigger than most ponds...but i like to topwater anywhere you find the fry...either fish are guarding or trying to eat them
  2. Can't wait to try both sizes..just waiting to get the post spawn going here
  3. The lizard is my fav. go to bait during the spawn..and almost always a Rage Tail in watermelon and red flake
  4. Buzzbait...But looking forward to using the whopper stopper in June
  5. Buzzbait because it covers alot of water..But a Spro frog of course where a frog can only be thrown
  6. I had some pretty good success when visiting a friend in Alabama one year with wal-mart spinnerbaits..didn't bend much and caught a few stripers with them also
  7. Killing it on poppers in the mornings
  8. A friend is sending me some...Anyone try them?
  9. i have had no success with it either..i'll stick with the dropshot
  10. Has to be a topwater...buzzbait most versatile
  11. Everyone has a diff. opinion which walks easiest...but have to agree spook jr. best to start with...i use kvd's now cause i like the way it spits water
  12. Yes..i loved the pumpkin seed cause they looked alot like the threadfin shad here...my go to lipless
  13. They are the most versatile of all topwater lures..i use diff. sounding buzzbaits at diff. times...more subtle fluttering ones in clear, shallow water and clackers in more stained and low light conditions particularly nite fishing
  14. Seeing that sight is more difficult for bass at nite...i rely more on the other 2 senses...smell and sound...i use scented soft baits more at nite..primarily berkley baits..and more noise/vibrate lures like colorado blade spinners and boo-yah clacker buzzbaits
  15. Fish early morning or early evening till dark...best time there in shallows when no cover
  16. I love buzzbaits...but there comes a time to break out the ole' frog...i use Live Target
  17. Dropshot if water no more than slightly stained and not too many weeds
  18. See Booyah now make the Xcaliber lipless cranks..They are my fav. lipless lures
  19. running out of momentum
  20. About 20ft. into my cast on my baitcaster the lure dies and drops straight down..any ideals why this happens? A new reel
  21. i use them for baits i have trouble catching them on with other hooks...mainly fat ika's...i went from catching 2 out of 5 fish to catching 4 out of 5 with the trokar...but there too pricey for me to use on all baits...also there so sharp that removing the hook sometimes really tears up the bass.
  22. my buddy would have no luck in Ohio topwatering..i asked what time you go out? he'd say about 11 in morning..now there is no rule to when they hit topwater..but if you shore fish your chances greatly approve right before sunup or evening into nite.
  23. 3 straight Cali votes for dropshot
  24. Fishing clear water and clear sunny skies here in socal not that needed...but i do use them when i nite fish
  25. topwater in morning then dropshotting by mid-morning evening throw fat ika then finish with a topwater
