  1. When bass are more active i use a buzzbait or walking lure...i only use popper when there less active and use a long pause then twitch retrieve.
  2. As i mentioned before..in clear shallow water..go with the more subtle buzzbait..i have seen way too many wakes in the water with a noisier buzzbaits..i use s.k. tri-vibe but go with the buzzbait that makes the least noise.
  3. Visited a friend on the Ohio River...i broke them out and had a smallie on every cast...sucked none of the Dicks sporting goods or gander mountain had them..he orders them online.
  4. Lived in the South for 3 seasons...spawn will typically begins early March.....that being said...Rage tail lizards def. best bait for me for bigger girls

  7. i've mentioned before..i use diff. buzzbaits in diff. situations..most have there own sound.....in clear shallow water i use tri-vibe from strike king...more of a quieter flutter sound that doesn't scare the fish. At night i fish the clacker buzzbait from boo-yah...all others i use a cavitron.

  11. wait till you feel the weight of the fish on your rod then set the hook...but him hitting you that close sure it happened immediately
  12. A buzzbait is without a doubt the most versatile of all topwater baits including winter fishing...work as slow as possible
  13. Seeing i haven't caught one on a frog yet...i'll just say the biggest one that hit my Spro frog looked about 8lb

  15. Maybe there looking for something a little slower...Try a Popper or Jitterbug. also try in a black if have it in that color
  16. Easy for me...EWG 4/0 Trokar hooks...there pricey and i use them only for Ika's
  17. Buzzbaits- 4 ft. or less walking baits- 5ft. and higher popper any-depth i need to slow it down frogs-any depth can't work any of the above
  18. Experment..see what they like...my buddie just nailed a 9lb. this week with a trailer
  19. Are you walking or chugging it? If walking ...chug it maybe they key on it better when paused

  21. buzzbait-1-4 ft. walk bait-5ft and higher popper-any depth when need to fish slower
  22. Not sure about walking...but they pop on pretty much every twitch which i like
  23. Topwater... but don't wait too long to try something else if not working...not sure size of pond but after 15 min. or so and no strikes...go to something else
  24. With clear water here have more success slightly burning it for reaction strike during daylite hours but slow as possible at nite
  25. I bought a Cavitron when back South and used back here in SoCAL and it was ok....Better luck with Strike King white/chrome during day then Booyah black/black with clacker evening into nite fishing
