Like i said in the topic bar how do u like your veritas , I am thinking of getting both a spinning and a casting rod but I 've been seeing alot of post on forum and even some on abu garcia website forum that these rod have a breaking issues so this is making it hard to decide on getting these rods but what is your opinion on them and is this rod worth getting my buddy at work keeps telling me i should forget about the abu garica and just go with the st. croix rods instead but i really want abu garcia veritas so can you help me and give insight on these rods ? these forum is open to anyone even if you had an issue i would like to hear it too . :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/?

Just got my BASSTIMES magazine today look in it found something that will change berkley products for 2011 they show dick's sport goods ad in for 2011 products the have reel and bait but then there it was berkley new bait and line - the new name brand is called Havco and they had a package that looks awesome the bait in the package is a double tail grub , info shapes and design picked by Mike iaconelli ,Bobby Lane ,Gary Kline,and Skeet Reese . also i dont know if these are the lures name but i think they are (devil spear,two timer,craw fatty ,and pit boss) . The new line is made by Berkley is it called Berkley pro braid info is 150ys 10-80lb test moss green made with dyneema . these will be available at dick's ( 3/1/11)

emailed berkley they said new baits will be available in march can't wait but be sure to look for them on their website .

basser i asked about that bait and the said it might come soon maybe later but they said they didn't know the release date yet .Ghoti the pic that basser show is that the bait ? or is it a beaver bait ? tell us more details? plz

revo ur correct it the 5" jumbo chigger craw i ask twh and they said the only new Berkley bait there is for right now so i believe it can wait for it to come out they said in feb it supposed to come in .

i have one I got it from a local fishing store it an ok rod i actually trying to sell it it a 6'6ft medium action , line 6-15lb , lure - 1/8oz -3/4oz and it a two piece rod wanting to sell it for $25.00 . I have used it 5 times don't really like two pieces rod so much anymore now i am into 1piece rods trying to upgrade it to a new st croix or abu garcia rods .

I just want to know what is a good wacky rig setup would be what kind of rod action do i need and have fast gear ratio . Many people I talk to say you need a medium light or medium action rod what is you opinion and what is your setup choice ?

Abu garcia orra sx gear ratio 7.1:1 is it good for frog fishing ? I was just wondering if this would be a good frog fishing topwater reel for bass fishing , I am trying to find another frog reel and rod setup right now , I have a pflueger cetina casting reel that a 7.1:1 gear ratio with a berkley lightning shock rod and it works well for me now but i been look at the abu orra sx or the new okuma citrix casting reel that has a 7.3:1 gear ratio on your opinion what reel is better or if you have your own combo please share just wanting to find a good reel for frog fishing .

i have a question for all the veritas rod owners will this rod fish good with braid , mono , or fluorocarbon and which ones better ? I usually use braid , and fluorocarbon in my pond but just wondering will this rod with stand braid line . I do have the berkley lightning shock rod that are made for superlines so what do u think about the rod and braid tie with this on you reel and rod? In my mind I am afraid of that the braid will break the rod what is your suggestion on it ?

hey glenn i had the same probably today thing what you were showing in the picture and got the hook out of the fish and put it in the water quickly the fish had a 50/50 chance of living it was still breathing when it was in the water but just went on it side and 1 min later it was dead i hate to see him go thou i really didnt mean to kill him i was texas rigging a 5" wave worm bamboo stick with a 6/0 ewg gamakastu superline hook i saw him take it hook him and he swallowed the bait . well i guess if you remove the hook it a 50/50 chance the fish will live . i mean it when i say i feel really bad . :-[ :'( :'( and this was the first one that died .

i thought trokar was going to be first because everyone on the trokar facebook says they love the trokar hook better then other hooks but by seeing the score for right now gamakatsu and owner then mustad wow didn't see that come everyone keep voting and i think i just may be stay with my same hooks but i recently did email scott martin on his website and he said he loves the trokar hooks, and what i have seen is that everyone is having mixes feeling or just don't want to pay the price for them . what is your comments on this view ?

j Francho i use the tote roller becuz my last job i had to cart alot of heavy thing and i do use a backpack sometimes but my back starts to hurt i been work on my pack muscle to make it not hurt but i still have a bad back from my last job so that y i use a tote instead . i live right by a pond by my house like right in my backyard so the tote helps alot .

on shore but i have a big cabelas bag that looks like this but i have different type of box and it just wont hold all my plastic packages and i was looking at the binders but what do u prefer instead ? with this bag i have a tote that i roll it around on i don't carry it .

i am still trying to find ways to store my soft plastic baits and i think i have a idea but have u tried using plano box of the 3731 , 7080, 3715 models would u think these would hold all my bait packages ? If any of you have used these for this please responsed to this ? also i ask plano how many packages would fit an the couldn't give me a good answer ! :-[

I wanted to buy the abu garica vendetta rod at a 7'6 ft but i was just wondering does it really matter if you get any reel to mount on it instead of a revo i saving up money but still long way tho but i just want to know if you have one and if it have a revo or not ? if you have any pics that would be kool .

i have the browning backpack 370 i love it it has alot of room i got it from BPS it good store but i have a big magnum bag from c a b e l a ' s and i use a tote to wheel it around but still using the back for other fishing trips .
