  1. what a catch she is a keeper
  2. I didnt realize this topic was going to start such a commotion. Thank you all for posting and answering my questions. D
  3. Dumping what I have will accomplish nothing, but a couple months ago, when my uncle lost his job due to a plant shipping overseas I vowed to buy American products if at all possible, I have done so with the bigger products - trading in my Honda for a Ford. Trading my wifes Toyota for a Ford. Now I'm working on my fishing equipment. I dont mind buying something from Sweden or Finland. I just dont want anything from China or Japan, or Korea. Again, I know its a frutile effort, but I have extra cash laying around, and if I sell all of my current rods and reels I can buy alot of American Made products, and it will give us and the guys "something to talk about" on the fishing outings, comparing American quality to the cheaper China stuff. I'm sure a St Croix rod is going to outpreform a cheap berkley any day of the week. Sorry for such a long post.
  4. Fixed it for ya. The Pfluegers I own, Supremes, Summits and Patriarchs are made in Korea, as are the Garcia's. It's possible some of their cheaper reels are made in China but if you're going to buy cheap equipment, you'll be hard pressed to find anything American made. I have two Presidents - I dont really classify them as a "Cheap" reel, both of them I bought about 5 years ago and on the box is says "Made in China" Thanks for letting me know about Abu and the other Pfluegers I had no idea that abu went to korea, I have the older Abus and they say "Made in Sweden" hard to believe they let the company go to korea, its sad, very sad
  5. Hey guys, I have always been a pflueger fan untill I found today they are made in China Do any of you know where all the brands are made? I searched google unsuccessfully Pflueger - China Shimano - Japan Abu - Sweaden ?? Quantum - ? Mitchell - ? Wright & McGill - ? To be honest, I'm looking for a great reel made in the USA Does anyone know of any? I'm going to replace every last Pflueger, Shimano, Quantum, and Mitchell reel I own with a USA brand. Thanks for the input D
  6. I love a Pfleuger reel To be honest about the rod selection though, I dont really have a brand I lean toward. I have never owned a St. Croix, or carrot stix rod I do own several Berkleys, Fenwicks, Ugly Sticks, Quantum, and BPS rods (all cheaper rods $45.00 - $95.00)
  7. ahh you took him out of his home. it would be tough to turn him back, but i always bring myself to do it so another fisherman can have the enjoyment.
