  1. Definatley a Sweet Beaver, except for thick grass, a brush hawg is better for coming through thick grass, it'll a little narrower.
  2. Oops. you're pobably right :-X
  3. I have the old one with the flippin switch as well. The flippin switch doesn't always work and the reel feels kinda flimsy(i shoulnd't judge on feel though, it holds up) but it truly is one of my smoothest reels. I love it for pitchin and it casts really far. I was very surprised at this and I still use it often. The breaking system is very good. Idk if this helps because its the old version but I'm sure the new version is good too.
  4. Try mdbass.com It's the MD bass federation website. You might find some info or clubs on there if you're interested.
  5. Lots of local clubs are affiliated with BASS or FLW. I know more about the BASS ones cuz I'm in one so I can tell you about that. A club can be part of the Federation Nation which just means it's BASS affiliated. Each club can send there top 6 anglers to a statewide tournament through which you can qualify for higher level tournaments but that's a long difficult process. If you wanna put down $75 you can fish in your state's federation chapter opens as a co-angler or $125 to be a boater. No invites. Theres lots of other small, non-affiliated circuits as well. Google Bass tournaments in Maryland, or Open bass tournaments, or BASS federation nation, you should find what you're lookin for.
  6. B.A.S.S is owned by ESPN and that is what you'll see on ESPN2. "the bassmasters" is what the show is called. The B.A.S.S pro circuit is called the Bassmaster Elite Series. I don't usually follow FLW but I got nothing against it. I think BASS gets more press time and clout. FLW was founded by Forrest L. Wood who also founded Ranger Boats. That's why you'll see all the FLW pros driving Ranger. The Bassmaster Classic is a B.A.S.S event which only B.A.S.S pros can qualify for.
  7. Stren is a good mono. If you want a good quality line, might I suggest P-line Fluoroclear. It's a co-polymer. It's perfect for spinning tackle because it has low-memory, but it's lower diameter than mono. It's better than mono but a little bit more expensive. For the bluegills and crappie, I would just stick with mono.
  8. Ask him if he'll do an episode of city limits fishing SYRACUSE with me on Onondaga Lake. Just kidding..... but really tho??????
  9. If your canal has rip rap banks like the erie canal, you can get free crawfish out of the rocks. You don't even have to get you hands wet, stick you worm between the rocks and watch em grab it, then hoist em up. Canal bass looove crawfish.
