3600, 3700 or Falcon boxes?
I absolutely love the falcon tackle storage systems, the boxes are great and the bags are even better. MY V12 storage bag has a tarp on the side that folds up and acts as a rain suit for the bag. Keeps everything dry on a rainy day. I know they are alot more expensive, but in my opinion they are worth the extra bucks.

what would you do...
I am not really familiar with Texas lakes, but it looks like a pretty shallow lake. I would hit the creeks with a spinnerbait and a jig. Look for grass and wood. You may try some topwater early or if it is cloudy, fish a spook or a buzzbait. Good luck!

How 'Bout Them Cowgirls
It is hard for me to stomach most of the new country, I think alot of the good guys have changed for the worst. I used to love brooks and dunn, and still do but there last few songs have been "pop" not country. King George is still a king, but bands like rascal flatts and guys like Jason Aldean are pop culture. I read in a magazine once where Jason Aldean said he was going to be better than Johnny Cash ever was, and now his hit song is titled Johnny Cash? I'm a Merle, Hank, Hank jr., Highwaymen kinda guy

Where where you 6 years ago on this day
Sitting in health class my freshman year in highschool, principal broke over the intercom and announced the terrible news. Everytime that principal came on the intercom throughout my highschool career, i always feared the worst because I just kept having flashbacks.

Need a strong finish...
well it wasn't the strongest finish, we scrounged up one 2lb 15oz fish, but that was enough to stay in 2nd place, which means i take off #2 in the championship tourney

Need a strong finish...
Every Thursday night from April to the end of August I fish a buddy tournament circuit. It consisted of 20 tournaments this year, we fish for a total of about 3 hours on Smithville Lake. So far it has been an excellent year for my partner and I with many top fives and several top 3's. The one thing that has eluded us is that win, we have placed 2nd by mere ounces several times. Tonight is the last night. We are currently 2nd in points out of about 40 boats for the year and while 1st place is currently out reach it would be nice to hang on to 2nd because all of our other competitors are twice our age with us both being 20 years old. Bragging rights i guess lol. Anyway wish me luck, if it goes well I will let you know.

Tackle made in the USA
Calm down muddy, who said i was talking directly to you? I was talking about the foreign-domestic argument. Don't criticize my ability to read when you are obviously having a hard time spelling.

Tackle made in the USA
Falcon Rods are made in the United States, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In my opinion it is very ignorant to lump all things manufactured in America as junk. Especially when you are talking about automobiles. I read on yahoo the other day that Toyota issued more recalls than any other auto manufacturer in 2007. Japanese automakers have entered a new market now, the full size truck and SUV market, and now that they are building powerful V8 engines and larger vehicles, their technology has been no better than the American automakers. Toyota is having major camshaft issues with their new Tundra, and they had suspension and ball joint issues with their large SUV's, Nissan had wiring harness issues while underload and wiring was setting on fire. You can not base reliability on American or non American like some of you have, a smart buyer will research the market and purchase a vehicle that meets their own needs. For me I have owned three ford pickups, a 1967 Ford that had an old carburated big block v8 in it, ran like a dream on 8mpg, but it started and ran when it needed too. A 1990 ford f-150 same thing 302 with over 100,000 miles, it leaked ever fluid but ran 70mph with a boat behind it and never missed a beat. The new truck is a 2001 ford f-150, again no problems towing the boat and no mechanical issues besides it having a recall on cruise control. No manufacturing is flawless when it is produced by the thousands and even millions.

Man, it's HOT
My mistake I didnt read the post very well, Daniel is right, I thought you were claiming the second picture to be a 5+lb fish, and i could tell by the comparision of your hand it wasn't. It was the way the post was constructed i thought the first description was of the first fish and the second of the 5lber, sorry Avid, just a misunderstanding, and FourBizzle I am a 20 year old bass fisherman from Kansas, and read a post wrong I am not a "hater", I just got stuck with a redneck education which leads to poor reading comprehension

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Yeah sorry, you finally figured it out, the only time I fish that lake is during tournaments, I have been on that lake probably 30 times this year, 27 of those times I was fishing a tournament. The other three I was making sure my boat ran ok, it is not the best lake to go fun fishing on lol.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
i consider a secondary point the first point in a cut that is not on the main body of water, the bite on the main lake points has been dwindling because of the increased pressure, its about that time a year again when those fish start biting on the trees in the trimble and camp branch area, the main lake bite has gone down hill from pressure
-
For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
When going to smithville you cant really plan on catching huge numbers of fish very often, its highly pressured. You are doing the right thing by carolina rigging the main lake points. The grass is all over the main lake and on most of those points, because the water is up the milfoil hasnt topped out yet, the heaviest concentrations of grass right now are on the camp branch side of the main lake.

SAVE PHACE PROTECTIVE MASK...WHO HAS ONE
I have one, paid $55 dollars online, its the plain white one, i love it, best money i ever spent, it would be a product i would endorse if i was a pro for sure. I wear it mostly on cold mornings, and when its raining, best money i ever spent, i could care less what color it is, it looks like a hockey mask being all white but i like it

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
About that pond weed, the same company that dredged lonestar lake out a few years ago came and dredged a private lake that i fish in Mclouth, KS out 3 years ago, well the curly leaf pond weed has taken over 60 of the 100 acres on the lake. They were talking about spraying this lake, which if it has any affect on fish would be devistating to me, because this lake has the healthiest fish population i have ever seen in the midwest, sounds to me like the dredging company dragged this weed from lonestar into our little lake.

Shimano faith is dented
I bought two shimano citicas from the same cabelas as you huskertko, i am assuming the one in KCK, I did have to take one back after about three trips out with it, something broke internally and it would not turn the spool and you could hear something rattling, since it wasnt very old I just took it back and havent had trouble with the new one.

Aluminum vs. Fiberglass Hulls
First off, I have owned a 17.5' aluminum and now own a 18.6' fiberglass, the difference between my two boats personally was the fiberglass is more stable, but it takes so much more care, no slamming into logs and tearing it up. I tend to baby the fiberglass more to keep it looking good and not scratched and chipped. If i could find a very stable and fast aluminum boat I would go with it.

New vs. Used boats? and outboards
When you are buying a used boat, you are pretty much buying the outboard, for example, say somebody has a 1993 Stratos 201 bass boat for sale with a 225HP outboard, they want $7,000 for the whole package, well you are spending 75% of that 7,000 for that 225HP outboard. Things to check, if the boat has an hour gauge see how many it has, make sure it pumps water good, and have a compression test done on the cylinders to make sure the piston rings are in good shape and the cylinders are sound, basically take it to a boat mechanic and have it inspected it might cost you a $100 bill or so, but it would be worth not buying a lemon over.
